For our special Christmas episode this year we are reading the entirety of the source book Waaagh da Orks ( sometimes described as Waaagh the Orks or just Waaagh Orks) Released in 1990 it was a unique work of pure background on the orkish race in the Rogue Trader era, featuring no game rules at all and establishing many of the concepts that are part of the background for orks until today.
It was later accompanied by two more books, Ere We Go and Freebooterz that provided rules and army lists for the orks, meaning that they had an incredible amount of rules and background compared to the next army, all of whom essentially had their army lists in White Dwarf articles.
I have edited out some bits of the book that are dependent on art or models, but this is essentially the whole thing. It's my longest reading as a result. Sorry.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

I really like both the story itself and the way you presented it. I agree this is a rather simple fantasy tale, but charming and thrilling nonetheless. I am sure I would have loved it at 11 years too, but I'm 38 now and still greatly enjoyed it. I think it's had a bit of Fritz Leiber in it BTW.
