WNO 23 is tomorrow night at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. Will Nicholas Meregali continue his reign of dominance vs. Vagner Rocha? Will Andrew Tackett defeat Tommy Langaker? Will JT Torres overcome the talented Nicky Ryan? I don't know, maybe to all of those. Andrew Tackett joins the show for a great, quick interview going over his recent performance at WNO 20: Night of Champions, where we bested PJ Barch of 10th Planet before falling out of the tournament due to a recurring back injury. We talk about his preparation for the tournament, his performance, what comes next, his injury, and the faith that drives him in life. I apologize for the bad audio quality, I have tried to fix it in Zoom before but I may have to resort to a different platform.

I go over a lot in this episode. I've been handling a lot of different roles and responsibilities lately what with the website's production, assisting Rachel during her pregnancy, commenating/MC-ing/Interviewing for the IBJJF GP, Booking shows and seminars, getting healthiter, the ministry, the list goes on. Enjoy this rambunctious recap and preview episode of OGC!
This episode is a big update on everything that has happened in the last two weeks. Maybe sometime soon I will have another guest on!
Short and sweet today. I was privileged to attend and commentate ADCC Phoenix with Brandon McAghren. Dan Manasoiu was dominant once again, Benson Henderson made an appearance, it was a grand ol' time. I also preview WNO which goes down in two days! Meregali vs. Duarte is going to be incredible!   Restore Health AZ: rhg.health
One of my favorite strings of podcasts we've done features this wholesome and dedicatedd man, Paul Tokgozoglu. Focused on mental health and the effect Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can have in a positive way, Paul has been posting and growing quickly and for good reason. I am very excited to see where the podcast goes, it was a huge privlege for me to be able to sit down with him and simply enjoy a couple conversations, one of which you will want to go to his channel to listen to!   Restore Health AZ: http://www.restorehealthaz.com/ Jiu-Jitsu Outlet on Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/jiujitsuoutlet on YouTube @jiujitsuismyoutlet
Do you agree? TLDW? I could probably stand to make these podcasts shorter but I'm doing my best. RestoreHealthAZ: http://www.restorehealthaz.com/
WNO has a great lineup of matches coming into their August 10th. I will put out some more content on that show as it draws nearer, as well as the stunning card at UFC 291. So excited for everything coming in the future!   Restore Health!: http://www.restorehealthaz.com/
Another Monday, another episode of The Open GuardCast. Enjoy listening to me as I struggle to focus while holding my microphone due to some techinical and physical difficulties.
If you weren't there for this one, you just wouldn't get it, I don't think. I didn't even convey it in a way that did it proper justice, to be honest. What a weekend, what a wild, weird weekend. Restore Health AZ: http://www.restorehealthaz.com SoTellUs: http://www.sotellus.com/openguardcast
ADCC Tijuana, though not as big as Dallas is shaping up to be another very exciting installment in the ADCC Open series! I go over not only this but the UFC Fight Pass Invitational and what the next week looks like in terms of the work I am doing with ADCC, UFC Fight Week and the WBC Muay Thai card here in town next week.
Kemoy Anderson, the head organizer of Main Character Jiu-Jitsu comes on the show along with 4 of the athletes slated for the 16-woman Grand Prix on July 1st in Austin Texas.  I want to say thank you to Meaghan Penning, Stephanie Cline, Ally Wolski and Nicole Mathew for coming on as guests and tolerating my subpar interviewing skills. It was a pleasure for me to help promote this show which you guys certainly don't want to miss! Follow @main_character_jiujitsu and buy the pay-per-view!
ADCC Dallas was awesome. From the intermediate divisions lighting everything up, the USA Fit Games being a unique addition and the impressive performances of both Jasmine Rocha and Luke Griffith, it was a weekend to remember. ADCC is doing big things over and over again.   I'd include timestamps, but maybe it's best y'all just listen to the full thing.   jakewatsonmedia.com is coming soon. or should I call it disciplejiujitsu.com? We will see. Enjoy the episode!
This episode was a fun one. I haven't had the opportunity to sit down and enjoy a conversation with Lionel in some time, and I really enjoyed this reunion. You'll hear me refer to him as "larger than life" in the episode, and you'll understand what I mean when you hear his passion. I am so happy Leao Optics is making the return, the Jiu-Jitsu community has a missing puzzle piece back in place. For today's episode of OGC I go over the co-main and main event of UFC 289 as well as ONE Championship's title match between Kade Ruotolo and Tommy Langaker. Sitting with just me at the microphone can be a doozy, but I feel I am getting better at it. Looking forward to the next episode where I will interview Lionel Turner, owner of Leao Optics. What an incredible event. From the storylines to the upsets, the controversies to the expected outcomes, this was everything the IBJJF Worlds is always built up to be. It was a giant honor to even be at this event and witness it live, let alone participate in the production as an analyst and commentator. Not too long of an episode for this OGC, expect some guests on the show soon! 125 is Josh McKinney of the "I Suck At JiuJitsu Show." Josh is a longtime friend of mine, he has appeared on the podcast before back in 2020. Now the OGC has returned, I couldn't think of anyone better to have on the first episode back. We go over our mutual impending fatherhood, his recent victory over the spicy AJ Agazarm, his plans for competitions and why you should be listening to his awesome podcast. Every episode of the Open GuardCast is brought to you in part by SoTellUs, the only video review SEO system in the world.
