For their final appearance, NotTheHoneyBees had to chat about The World is Not Enough. This movie has maybe the biggest gap in quality between the two Bond girls ever. First, you have the incredible Sophie Marceau as Elektra King, a mysterious and chic femme fatale. Then you have Denise Richards as Christmas Jones, who is one of the least convincing nuclear scientists you could find, and is mostly there to elicit Christmas puns about her. Also, this movie wants us to root for an oil pipeline, which is a REAL hard sell in this day and age.Don't forget to join our Discord for movie nights and additional podcast discussions!Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-other-half/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Tomorrow Never Dies is where we're told that Pierce Brosnan's golden era ends. It was super short-lived, apparently! This movie has Bond take on a giant, corrupt media mogul. Armed with a cool remote-controlled car, it's Bond against the world, and a Chinese secret agent played by Michelle Yeoh. Do we agree this is a bad movie, or are we going to be the contrarians!! Look at us potentially defending a Bond movie! What have we become?

The boys have finally entered the Pierce Brosnan era with GoldenEye! After a long time, Mike and Ethan have finally gotten to a Bond movie they've both seen. Will it hold up or change Mike's mind about how much he hated this movie at the time? Will Pierce Brosnan live up to the hype of their childhood nostalgia? There are so many questions as we enter a whole new era of this Bond edition of Watch Til You Can't!

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watch the last Timothy Dalton film,
Licence to Kill. It's weird that we just got Timothy Dalton and he's already going the way of George Lazenby. (But has a career afterwards). It's mostly weird because this may be one of the best Bond films to exist. Maybe it's because it shakes the formula up and makes Bond care about something else besides just Queen and Country. Or maybe because sharks are cool, and so is electrocuting people with electric eels!
Also, please can he get a shoutout for all the Remington Steele fans out there??

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watch the first Timothy Dalton film, The Living Daylights. Bond is back and grittier than ever. We also got a new Felix, we got a new villain, we got a new Moneypenny, but we have the same old Q. This movie also has John Rhys-Davies playing a top Russian general.
Is My Dalton the relief we've been looking for from the Roger Moore films?

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys and HoneyBees watched the final Roger Moore movie, A View to a Kill! Roger Moore would have gone out with a bang, but he's completely overshadowed by Mayday, played by Grace Jones. Even the actual Bond girl in this movie is but a BLIP in the marketing artwork. Grace Jones is just that good. Pair her with Christopher Walken and you've got yourself one of the best pairs of villians you can find in a Bond film. Well at least since Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd!
But how is it actually as a movie? Is the plot good? Are the action scenes compelling? We get into all of this in more in one of our longest episodes for the podcast EVER!

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched an unofficial Bond movie starring Sean Connery! He's back and showing that he can still keep up with the latest James Bond, Roger Moore. This movie is a remake of Thunderball and is going for a much different tone than what the EON films were trying to go for. Gone are a lot of Bond's signature trademarks, including an opening of a dude walking into a gun barrel. But what we're left with instead is a movie directed by Irvin Kershner, who made The Empire Strikes Back.
Is this set up to be one of the best James Bond films?

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of (sigh) Octopussy. It's time for the worst-named James Bond film we've ever seen. But it does have the circus in it and feels like an Indiana Jones movie at times!
Bond is sent to figure out what's up with these fake Faberge Eggs and how they are connected to Russia wanting to take a land grab in Europe. Ethan also struggles with his memory and his notes about how a particular 00 agent dies. This feels like the second to last Roger Moore film in more ways than one, mostly the lack of budget. The 80s were crazy.

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of For Your Eyes Only! The movie where the Bond folks realized you gotta reduce the scope of your movie after going to space.
Ethan and Mike dive into the 12th Bond movie, which is all about diving underwater, Greek artifacts and Topal! An evil plot to collect the Automatic Targeting Attack Communicator (ATAC) from getting into the hands of the KGB. Lots of great little details in this movie with an amazingly cool set piece for the final battle. Maybe these Bond movies are having a turn for the better?

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of Moonraker! The movie where the producers saw how successful Star Wars was, and wanted one of those.
Ethan and Mike are joined by Chris, AKA lvl_hed or figure_head, depending on the day, who is a massive James Bond fan with a planet-sized amount of knowledge about each movie. Chris suggested this movie because it's peak James Bond. It certainly is the highest altitude James Bond. Bond is tasked with tracking down missing space shuttles made by billionaire Elon Musk Hugo Drax, which leads to an epic space adventure! It even has a favorite henchman, Jaws, returning once again.
Chris was right, this movie has it all.

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of The Spy Who Loved Me, a movie about a villain trying to monopolize the underwater city industry!Roger Moore accidently teams up with *sigh* Agent XXX from Russia to stop these nuclear subs from being stolen. Turns out tho, he may have killed her husband without knowing! Will this cause a rift in their relationship if she ever finds out? Or will Bond be suave as heck and smooth it all over? This movie also features one of the coolest Bond gadgets ever: the car submarine.Don't forget to join our Discord for movie nights and additional podcast discussions!Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-other-half/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of The Man With The Golden Gun, which features Christopher Lee with three whole nipples!
Roger Moore is chasing an elite assassin who seems to be threatening Bond. It leads to a whole bunch of twists and turns and a trip to China and Bangkok! Also, we learned a lot about Queen Elizabeth, the ship, and the actual queen. Shout-outs to Nick Nack, the best part of the movie! Plus, this movie has a great little fun house section that seems like it was created by a demented Walt Disney.

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of Live and Let Die, which finally stars a new Bond, Roger Moore.
Live and Let Die is about voodoo and New Orleans and all the things you wonder why British Bond is over here helping. But it does have one of the craziest villain deaths of all time, plus Crocodiles and Alligators! Roger Moore is an interesting Bond and is playing it completely differently than how Sean Connery played him. It's an interesting twist and it seems like we have a lot more movies ahead with him! (Unlike the last non-Connery Bond)

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of Diamonds are Forever and are joined once again by the Bond expert HoneyBees!
Watch Til You Can't continues with a brand new- wait Sean Connery is back? Oh my god, they are doubling down on the misogyny, gadgets, and cheesy one-liners. Plus Bond goes to Vegas, and as we know from almost every film franchise ever, when a character goes to Vegas it's one of the best movies in the franchise!

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the only movie George Lazenby stars as Bond.
Watch Til You Can't continues with a brand new bond. He's softer now, and he's in love! Also, this is a prequel to You Only Live Twice, so it's a bit confusing that James Bond's face changes between two different movies. Ah, it doesn't matter, that's the power of movies! The power of movies also includes actors "moving" in front of a green screen for almost all of the action shots!

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of Casino Royale, the weird parody Bond movie in the series.
Watch Til You Can't continues with Oops all Bonds! What if every agent in MI6 was named James Bond 007, and there was a monkey with a wig on (Maybe it's M's toupee)? This is perhaps the weirdest, wildest James Bond movie to exist, and it has an insane cast. This is also the moment in Ethan's life where he learns that Peter Sellers isn't a nice guy.

In this episode of The Other Half podcast, the boys watched two different halves of You Only Live Twice, the fifth Bond movie in the series.
This is a movie made to showcase Japan and how pretty it is. It also makes you question every dormant volcano and whether a hidden lair could be there. And boy, is that hidden lair cool looking. Can an impressive set piece save a movie written by THE Ronald Dhal and the fact that James Bond now knows how to throw ninja stars?

The boys were having it pretty good up until Thunderball appeared! This movie has it all. Jetpacks, goofy racks, shark tanks, and lots and lots of underwater cinematography. In a classic plot of SPECTRE stealing nuclear bombs and threatening to use them on the US or UK, James Bond is tasked with finding those bombs! Luckily, it just so happened he was in a health clinic with one of the guys on the plane! Is Bond good at his job, or is he just ultra lucky?

The boys tackle the next movie in the Bond franchise, Goldfinger! He loves gold! James Bond is tasked with finding out what's up with Goldfinger's Operation Grand Slam. He also starts becoming the James Bond we all know and some love. He gets with tons of ladies, says corny puns, and starts becoming too dang good at his job! But that's what the franchise is all about, right? It also has most likely the weirdest name for a Bond girl ever.

From Russia With Love is one of the most famous and well-regarded James Bond movies. There is even a 3rd person video game based on it! That's how you know it was legit. James Bond travels to Istanbul to check out a lead on a Lektor machine to crack some codes. SPECTRE, of course, set a trap for James Bond and with Tatiana Romanova, who is a fake defector of the Soviet Union. This movie has it all: explosions, shootouts, sexy scenes, and a touch of racism, which is a perfect way to encapsulate the early '60s.
