Get Over It: Politics Is Math, Not a Moral Lecture. Lionel dives headfirst into current political angst, urging everyone to officially "get over it," and arguing that the GOP has forgotten how to fight. This episode is a wake-up call to weaponize confidence and control the narrative, because "politics is math" and persuasion. We confront terrifying, big-picture topics that dominate the future: global war, AI governance, digital currencies (CBDCs), hydroimperialism, eugenics, and biological threats. Lionel dissects radical agendas—like the abolition of capitalism, government control of health care, and police abolition—while tackling the existential structural squeeze facing young voters, including why housing prices are a "cosmic joke". Stop talking to yourselves! Join the debate on who is authorized to define "truth," exposing "misinformation," and exploring the depth of "Trump Derangement Syndrome". This episode tackles the overwhelming polarization surrounding former President Donald Trump. Lionel and his callers debate the core reasons behind the intense dislike and the fierce loyalty he inspires. Is Trump’s refusal to follow the established "script" for leaders and his immunity to social shame what infuriates the left? Or does the negative press—criticized as being 98% negative—distort his true character and frequent, unpublicized charitable acts? The discussion navigates tricky territory, questioning if business manipulation is simply clever negotiation and arguing that America needs a "coldhearted bastard" who is superior in strategy to deal with despotic world leaders. Explore the depth of "Trump Derangement Syndrome" and the theory that his haters secretly envy and even like him. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
This episode tackles the impossible question: How do we engage the next generation in politics? Lionel explores the structural squeeze facing young voters, discussing the insane costs of living, why housing prices are a "cosmic joke", their hatred of the 'you will rent everything and like it' model, and the looming threat of AI anxiety. We also dive deep into election controversies, analyzing whether Curtis was a spoiler against Cuomo and Mamdani, questioning the viability of promises like "free buses", and dissecting the psychology of political loathing, from Andrew Cuomo to Donald Trump. Join Lionel as he battles the proliferation of "misinformation, disinformation, [and] bad information," arguing against the very notion of who is authorized to define "truth". This episode dives deep into current events, exposing viral false reports (like a resurfaced flag desecration video falsely tied to a recent mayoral victor) and dissecting the far-reaching platform of Democratic Socialists of America. Lionel takes a firm stand against penalizing thought, expressing his strong disdain for "stupid hate crimes" that elevate penalties based on constitutionally protected speech. He challenges traditional right-wing political tactics, asserting that simply mocking and insulting opponents is ineffective for luring new supporters or recruiting the "next bench" of young leaders. Instead, the focus should be on exposing the reality of radical agendas—such as the abolition of capitalism, government control of health care, severe limits on private landlords, police abolition, and decarceration programs. Lionel asks listeners to look beyond the surface—the "pumpkin village" of public political theater—to understand the people who truly run the show. Learn more about your ad choices. The Other Side of Midnight with Lionel offers an entertaining and informative post-mortem on the shocking New York City mayoral election, dissecting Zohran Mamdani’s narrow 50.3% victory. Lionel demands an adult discussion, cutting past the histrionics and caterwauling to expose the real story: the collapse of the old Democratic order. Lionel dives into the crucial New York City mayoral election, arguing that politics is about math, not feelings. Lionel passionately explains why the beloved underdog candidate, Curtis Sliwa, must be abandoned, as a "protest vote" will only hand victory to the radicals. Hear the exasperated case for why Andrew Cuomo, despite any personal grudges, is the only candidate with the resolve and experience to keep New York from sliding backward. This race is not about personalities, it's about survival, confronting the existential threat posed by Zohran Mamdani, and understanding that New York is too precious to lose. This episode cuts through the noise of an election locked in a "circular time pattern", where the same arguments repeat endlessly. The stakes in New York City are monumentally high. Lionel insists that the entire race boils down to one simple thing: keeping Mamdani out of office. With polls indicating a dead heat between Cuomo and Mamdani, every single vote matters. Lionel passionately argues that splitting the conservative vote by supporting Curtis will cause the city to fall into the hands of a radical candidate offering activism, not solutions. Mamdani's agenda, including rent freezes and city-run grocery stores, is nothing short of a "disaster" that would put New York on a fast track toward bankruptcy. This is a critical discussion about political psychology, common sense, and why choosing improvement is paramount to surviving the coming crisis. Learn more about your ad choices. that mural of Dante right in uptown Minnesota is fading and it will be down soon and no one will know his name. Kim did her time and she's been out now longer than she was in. everyone's moved on except for Dante's family, and no one cares. the new cycle has cycled and they're out of the spotlight. your 15 minutes of fame are up and no one cares

Dante Wright would have done zero jail time. and now he's dead due to his actions. he would have gotten a ticket or community service whatever. he's never coming home because of his actions that day. the officer should have never been charged. She did her time, and now she's been out for as long as she was in the end of tstory. the long arm of Justice is a patient arm. she's done her time and moved on, something Dante can never do. besides a mural on a window in uptown, mn. people have forgotten

the long arm of the law is a patient one. yes, things here in Minneapolis ran Buckwild for a few years, but gradually people are starting to pay the price. if anything innocent people are paying the price for morons of the past. Justice never forgets, and the cops have the ultimate power. if you think cops don't have a vendetta, then you're a fool. they will get their Revenge

you're never going to get through to people like Ed. every cop in this altercation was railroaded. I really feel sorry for the one guy who it was his second or third day on the job, and he did prison time with a plea bargain. you're trying to listen to your superiors so if anything the other cops should have been not held accountable but again when everyone's getting railroaded everyone will be railroaded.

first of all, pronounce his name correctly. secondly, he was railroad. George Floyd was in the car and begged to be taken out. the mistake was taking him out of the car after they had him contained. he obviously swallowed the drugs he had on him. he was dying from that moment going forward whether there was a knee on his neck or not he had too much drugs in his system

he didn't know the Washington Elite was so freaking terrible when he came into office he was new to Washington now he knows so we're going to see what's up. it's not fair because Trump in the beginning in 2016 was too gullible to likable to trustable on these tyrants now he knows what's up and we're going to get the Trump Administration that we have been waiting for

Overcharged? Ask the victims, parents of the victims, or put yourself in the victims place. As a high schooler going through puberty, there should be 0 tolerancs for homosexual locker room hazing. How dare you justify this outrageously inappropriate behavior.

thank you paul! I couldn't have said it any better myself. a simple Google search will explain all of this. it drives me crazy that they are asking answerable questions with a simple Google search but they're spending half an hour dancing around acting as if they don't have the answer when it would take less than a minute to figure out the digestion issue with swimming in the pool after eating

I'm literally screaming at my radio. it's not about cramping it's about indigestion and throwing up in the pool that is the issue. yes, wait 30 to 60 minutes before swimming after eating! Once someone pukes in the pool, the party is over. Why risk it?

wait 30 minutes before entering the pool after eating so that your body has time to digest the food properly. if you go swimming within 30 minutes you'll have indigestion and possibly even puke in the pool

Enoooough about Kennedy. How much does he pay you to put any positive spin on his bid for the White House? Maybe if he didn't sound like he's choking on razor blades when he spoke, but he does. He's hard to listen to.

wouldn't the pandemic and isolation increase reading? why would reading decrease when everyone is isolated and locked in their homes? it doesn't make sense. and Kennedy would have done what Trump did because that's what had to happen it wasn't Trump's call to shut down the country or keep it open, it's what had to be done at the time when no one knew what was going on, looking through the lens of hindsight isn't fair

his stumping for Kennedy every episode is about to cost him a listener. It just gets old hearing how wonderful someone is when clearly they are not. it's a disservice to the public to only mention someone's accomplishments or the good things about that person without mentioning their shortcomings and terrible things they've done in their past political life. Biden is not such a bad guy once you take away all the disgusting racial stuff from the 80s and '90s that he said and policies he passed.
