Description
Owen Jones, journalist, author of Chavs and The Establishment, or "that left-wing idiot off the telly", is fed up with the establishment media. After all, it punches down, not up, blames minorities for all the problems in society, and, let's face it, often just parrots the government line. So this podcast is offering something different: speaking truth to power, giving the marginalised a voice, offering hope - and having a laugh along the way. From Michael Sheen to Judith Butler, Prof. Devi Sridhar to Noam Chomsky, Peter Hitchens to Chelsea Manning and Gary Younge to Stewart Lee, the interviewees couldn't be more eclectic. Expect documentaries, too, exposing injustice and going to enemy territory - and discussions with experts on everything from COVID dreams about the pandemic to the history of US-backed coups. We'll learn a lot - but above all else, have our optimism in a better world rebooted.

Such a bad take. it has been obvious for a while that AOC is in to performative politics. She will never miss an opportunity to not exert her power in aid of minimum wage or medicare for all. Criticise her spinelessness and be accused of being a racist and mysoginist. And the immigrant woman of colour who made her dress? She emigrated from Toronto and is fiance to a 100 millionaire dollar member of the Lehmans bank family., so give us all a big break on that angle. P.S. how can you still be working for the Guardian? Principles only count when you are willing to get hurt defending them. And isn't it time you revised your reaction to the AS smear campaign. You did some harm entertaining the complaints of bad faith actors, as if their machinations deserved a sympathetic response.

There is absolutely no way of voting Labour without effectively endorsing Starmer. there is no way leftwing will reward the king of trolls targeting left.
