" Is it time to ditch the title Project Manager?' "Is Agile misunderstood?" ‍ Plus lot's more. ‍ For more tips and approaches to improve your project management and productivity visiting my blog or follow me on Instagram
On this weeks episode, I’m taking you through 25 ways to prepare for a remote Project Management interview. Thousands of companies around the world are adapting to the new way of working, and it’s changing the way we think about how we work and how we recruit. More and more companies are now not only recruiting remotely but the candidates they’re looking at can be truly global. What this means is the market for specific roles is getting bigger, so how you prepare for an interview is now even more critical. A remote interview still requires the same preparation as a face to face interview when it comes to preparing your questions, rehearsing your responses and research on the role and company you’re interviewing for. What changes with a remote interview is the set up of your interview space. With face to face interviews, it was how you presented yourself physically but now you have to consider things like how good is your audio, what is your viewing angle like and do I have a quiet space to do the interview in. By completing these 25 preparation tasks, it could be the difference from having a good interview versus having a great one. For most of us remote working has gone from something we do every now and again to being fully remote and it’s a huge change for all for us. On this weeks episode, I talk about Scrum. You might want to know what Scrum is, or you’re using Scrum and having some problems, or you just to learn more about it. This introduction to Scrum is a mixture of the Scrum fundamentals, so pretty much what you get in the Scrum Guide, mixed in with real-life experiences from within a digital agency. I’m hoping by describing Scrum this way you’ll be able to build up a picture of what Scrum is if you’re new to it. But also gain an understanding of what it’s like in the real world versus assuming it all works just like the Scrum Guide describes.  For more tips and approaches to improve on productivity and project management, follow me on Twitter https://twitter.com/teambenwillmott
On this weeks episode, I talk about an approach one of my favourite note-taking methods Capture and Create. This approach is an excellent note-taking strategy for meetings when you want a clear separation between what you hear in the meeting, versus what you have learnt or what you need to do after the meeting. On this weeks episode, I'm talking about an approach called the Agile Agenda which will improve how you facilitate meetings significantly.  How many times have you created an agenda, or been passed an agenda for a meeting and thought, “Wow, great agenda, I love how this is written and presented and the agenda items are so exciting, I can’t wait to get started.” Not often I’m sure? Agendas are often inherently boring and don’t add much value, but we always have to create them the same way as that’s just part of the process.  With this approach, I'll tell you how you can get greater engagement with your meeting attendees, only talk about agenda items that have the highest value and make the facilitation of your meetings so much easier.   For more tips and approaches to improve on productivity and project management, follow me on Twitter https://twitter.com/teambenwillmott
On this weeks episode, I talk about an approach that has had a significant impact with me, my team and within our agency when it comes to setting goals at work, and that's creating goals for everything we do. Now at first glance, this might seem like overkill and far to much work, but the value in doing this far outweighs the initial work needed (which isn't much). I'm sure many of you have experienced receiving a request for your help from your boss, client or work colleague. Then when you've then shown them what you created, the feedback was "that wasn't what I  quite meant" One way to help solve this is to get the briefing face to face, as hearing the request directly allows you to get more context from the requester.  Although this face time is invaluable, it still doesn't guarantee you will achieve what they need. You can keep going into more and more detail with the requestor, but this takes time, and you may as well just do the work together. So what do you do? You set goals. Episode 1: Reflections

Episode 1: Reflections

2019-10-2308:14

In this episode, I'll be talking about an approach called reflections, which is just four easy steps help you recognise the positives in your life so you can repeat them, or the negatives in your life so you learn from them and cut them out of your life. Every day, I'm sure you have experiences that if you look back and could have that opportunity again, you would do them differently next time. It could be an argument with a partner, a presentation at work that didn't go so well, or just a chance meeting with a stranger on the street.
