SUPs and gives you all a really great insight into whats going on behind the scenes with this iSUP brand.
Theres huge amounts of insight in this interview, so we have split it into two parts.... part one covers the production process, quality controls materials and pros and cons of welded vs. glued rails, while part 2 we discuss what makes Red Paddle Co. different to other brands. Looking at innovation, environmental impact and price!
Well worth a listen, particularly if you have an interest in our SUP industry/Red and the environmental impact they have.
Who are Red Paddle Co.?
Red Paddle Co inflatable paddleboards and Red Equipment are very well known to many paddlers around the world. And for many of us, a Red board was the very first board we ever stood on. Red have been making iSUPs since 2008 and you can now find hundreds of thousands of Red boards throughout the world. As the iSUP markets grown, with many more brands following Red Paddle Co’s lead, we now have many iSUP brands of different quality and price to choose from.
Have you ever asked questions such as… Why Red Paddle Co? What do they do differently to other SUP brands? And why should I spend more on a Red product? If so, then these interviews are for you!

With so much board choice it can be hard to know where to start when buying a SUP. But definitely the first and biggest decision you need to make it whether to go inflatable or hard?
Late last year we published a video to help you make the decision yourselves, but then we realised we should post this as a pod cast as the audience is growing so quickly here!
Making the decision to go inflatable or hard is not as simple as just whether or not you can be bothered to pump it up! There's lots more to consider... such as how you're going to store and transport it, board weight, time to set up, how it feels and performs on the water, what type of paddling you plan to do, how tough you are on your kit, how much money you have to spend etc... We hope you find this video useful and it gets you thinking and making the right decision, about which is best for you... inflatable or hard?

Thanks for the team at Fatstick for sponsoring this video - great when brands are committed to helping consumers make the RIGHT buying decisions as its EXACTLY what we want too!

This info may be obvious to some. But we know there are many of you paddlers out there who haven’t even given this a thought! You just load your big dry bag under the front bungee for the duration of your paddle, stand by the boards handle and off you go! But you really should give it some thought, because it can make your paddling all the more enjoyable, and easier too.
The extra length and width commonly found with a touring board, provides plenty of deck space for carrying extra luggage, whether it be extra bags or your dog/child who wants to come along for the adventure too.
Well designed touring boards will have plenty of bungee tie downs, to not only allow you to safely and securely carry those extra bags, but also to give you the option of repositioning that extra weight when paddling in different conditions.
It’s important to consider where both your body and cargo weight positions are on the board when paddling in different conditions, to get the most efficiency out of your board and your paddling. This might mean moving your body position on the board, your bag positions or both.
