This is a final project for my Global History of Food class that I did with some friends. It details the History of Dessert and how sugar was a status symbol for wealthy families, then dives into the history of three different desserts and looks at how they were impactful or representative of a culture or time period. Those three desserts are donuts, churros, and homemade ice cream. In lieu of a brief history on homemade ice cream, instead I talk about an oral interview I did with my Great Grandmother who was a child during the Great Depression
