The Past Is Present

Classic conflict and confusion offered up with this subject matter. I wanted other players on this track but that's me on drums and everything else. Written with a rock band in mind - no particular one, just that vibe.

The "Jenny" character here is strong, self-sufficient and in control of the picture you're seeing. In other words - you're not seeing the half of it.

After reading a tragic news story of a woman murdering her lover while he slept, I wrote and recorded this piano vocal demo. The macabre is, and continues to be, a reoccuring theme in my work. Dark subject matter with some nice chords and melody - gets me every time!

This song is pure imagination of course; I haven't been to any of these places! Still, the sentiment of being or feeling far away (either physically or emotionally) - yep, I know that one by heart.
