The Positive Episode!! Episode 61: In this episode we are joined by our good friend from across the pond, Steven Van Elk to get a more upbeat perspective on the current state of events!   We are fed up with all the negativity surrounding the wedding industry right now, so with the vaccine roll out going well both here in the UK and in the US things are finally looking up! We’re all coming into wedding season and although bookings are a little down from normal for everyone, it is safe to say we are all buzzing to get back behind the lens and infront of a wedding ceremony again!   Obviously it wouldn’t be an episode from one half of the Wedding Photo Hangover without some booze so we chat whiskies, our favourite films and also field some questions from the Facebook group.   Enjoy! Got any questions? Send us your questions and thoughts on the show to hello@jameskelly.co or join our Facebook group here and leave your comments, questions or share your images (please do not bombard the page with heaps at a time).   Lastly, we would be grateful if you could give the show some love by leaving us a (great 5*) review on iTunes, this will help other photographers find us: goo.gl/6Kam3P   The Facebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/thephotographerscraic Our website: www.thephotographerscraic.com
Everything new and Fujifilm related... (including the GFX 100s!!!) Episode 60: In this episode we are joined by our good friend and Fuji X-ambassador Scott Johnson from The Edge photography to discuss the new eye wateringly good offerings from Fujifilm!! Scott has been demoing and trialing the new Fujifilm’s GFX100s since late last year and is absolutely delighted to share his thoughts and findings with us! We talk about the stunning capabilities of this new beast of a camera but also it’s VERY appealing price tag and relatively compact size!! We also catch up with how Scott is getting on dealing with all the new lockdown restrictions and the fact that weddings are currently illegal in England. James has a cancellation to deal with but Ross has had a few new bookings in the last week or two. Episode 59: It’s 2021 and although the year hasn’t exactly started as we would all have liked, James and Ross are keen to look to the future when hopefully things are a bit more “back to normal” Both James and Ross have been dealing with new enquires for 2021/22 and they discuss how to fit new bookings in with the rearranged bookings from 2020/21. Should you lower your prices to accolade a smaller/shorter wedding day and how do you try to upsell future products to clients during a recession. James has also finalised his plans for the Business of Photography course that he is running. Check out the website here: https://www.jkbop.com Stand by for an avalanche of information covering everything from booking your first portrait shoo to managing booking 20+ weddings a year! He is delighted to share all this information with you all and is proud of what has been put together so far! With more ideas flowing about the BOP and some new (very special guests) lined up, don’t forget to join our Facebook group for chat and questions I HUGE thank you to the talented Conor Finnegan who has designed us a new logo.  Episode 58: After a long gap in recordings, James and Ross have some huge news both personally and professionally! Ross got engaged last weekend and is now on the hunt for a wedding photographer... James has started the new mentoring side to his business and has just completed the first block of coaching. We discuss where James wants to take this new line of enquiry and what the plans are going forward! The new mentoring also managed to fortuitously lead James towards a beautiful Aurora Borealis whilst shooting a wedding with one of his clients from the course! You literally couldn’t make up what happened and is one of the most phenomenal coincidences and subsequent shoots ever!! A proper blend of landscape and wedding photography! We also answers some questions from our Facebook group, it has been so good to get back interacting with everyone again! Enjoy! Got any questions? Episode 57: James and Ross are back after another long break and a much needed catch up on both fronts, wedding and landscapes. Ross has his first post-lockdown wedding of the year next weekend and has been out getting back into family shoots. James has some big changes on the wedding front, namely bookings for the next 2/3years (leading to a slight change in focus….!). They also both have very exciting news and plans on the landscape side of things. Ross has been out shooting again, getting up at 4am for some sunrises whilst up north. James has his next Faroes Workshop in 2weeks but is unsure if it’ll go ahead due to restrictions and has a VERY exciting new partnership to discuss and how he has become an ambassador for a certain camera bag brand! We also answers some questions from our Facebook group, it has been so good to get back interacting with everyone again! We also have very exciting plans (still just plans at the minute) to take a trip somewhere together!! This is not meant as click-bait but it is worth listening in til the end for!! Episode 50: Woohoo! We hit our first milestone, 50 episodes and boy is episode 50 epic! Ross & James chat with Jim Pollard, one half of the super talented husband and wife team “Pollard We Are”. Originally from the UK but after traveling the world Jim and his family settled in the beautiful New Zealand where he discovered his love for wedding photography. Although Jim and his wife Vicky are hugely successful destination wedding photographers, they are most well known around the world for jumping in helicopters and flying to the tops of mountains in NZ to create master pieces of art during a wedding day! We discuss how he does this and the hurdles he faces to capture these incredible photographs. We also chat about the equipment they use when undertaking such a huge amount of travelling during a wedding day, his Instagram followers, Jim’s thoughts on wedding albums, his printing with his Canon Pro-222 and how he prefers to offer a single shot beautifully printed than an album. We also managed to squeeze in a quick discussion on editing and how he became associated with Dvlop preset This is a link to the Montenegro shoot Ross discusses - some stunning lighting and an abandoned swimming pool! https://www.pollardweare.com/montenegro-wedding-andrew-alisha-kotor-montenegro/ Watch the interview here: https://youtu.be/FZUyKeL5eP0 Pollard are we details: Website: https://www.pollardweare.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pollardweare Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jimpollardgoesclick Enjoy Got any questions?
