THE 6 STEPS YOU NEED TO GAIN CREDIBILITY: 1. Credibility: Showcase credibility through your team, advisors, and patents. Illuminate your early mistakes and communicate how they have attributed to your situational knowledge to navigate those same scenarios in the future. 2. Emotional Attachment: Understand the emotional attachment your consumers have to your product/service and how to leverage it. 3. Reasons to Invest: Evaluate the reasons people buy, not the perceived reasons you think they buy. A giant potential market means nothing without market share. 4. Impacts: Communicate to your prospects the impact your business will have. 5. Capabilities: Explain the capabilities you have and need. 6. Quantitative Ask with 100/20 Rule: You can’t get an investment unless you ask. Be clear about what you want, how you will use it, and what investors will get in return. Lastly, Make your business a profit-center for others by being able to ask and answer the following question: “Determinant of the credibility you’ve told me we have, the emotional connection, the reasons, impacts, and capabilities; do you see any reason you wouldn’t want to move forward?” If you can ask that question and realistically predict the response, then you have effectively turned your business into a profit-center. Eight Ways to Stop Lying To Yourself Once we have a better understanding of the signs that we’re lying to ourselves, it’s time to utilize strategies to stop telling these lies. 1. Stop taking constructive criticism as a personal attack - Don’t assume the negative when others are providing you opportunities to learn and grow. Take a more positive perspective and try to find the light, love, and lessons in the input of those around you. 2. Stop trying to convince everyone that you're right - The ego and its needs are one of our greatest enemies, especially our need to be right. When you must always be correct or superior, you will invariably tell yourself lies to elevate your self esteem. 3. Realize that you can enjoy the consistent and persistent pursuit of your potential - Attaching your emotions to a specific outcome is not the right mindset to have, instead focus on achieving progress each day and enjoying yourself in the process. 4. Take chances - Be willing to take risks, rather than telling yourself, “It’s never going to happen”. Nothing extraordinary happens when you are taking ordinary chances. 5. Stop putting things off until tomorrow - One of the most common ways we lie to ourselves occurs when we decide that we will do something later that could easily be accomplished now. That’s why I have a “Do It Now” Rule. 6. Quit doubting yourself - Worrying means that you are voting for something that you don’t want in your life. Starve your doubts and fears, don’t give them any energy or attention. 7. Consider others' points of view - Whenever our reality doesn’t match what others perceive, it is important to take a step back and try to understand why. This reflection can stop us from repeating the same lies to ourselves over and over. 8. Realize when you've taken on too much – Another common lie we tell ourselves is that we don’t need help, when asking for assistance would be our best path forward. It’s alright to admit that we are in over our head and need help. The definition of happiness is to enjoy the consistent every day, persistent without quit, the pursuit of your potential, your truth, your best self. Stop worrying about what other people think, what you don't have, what you don't want, or what's missing in your life. Simply what YOU want. That's the definition of happiness to me. The people who can enjoy the consistent pursuit of their own potential. In order to do that, we need to focus on the four values of gratitude, forgiveness, accountability, and effective communication, and act upon them daily. Most think it's their “why” that's going to make them happy. It's not. It's your “what” you need to know. You need to take inventory every day of WHAT you want. What you want personally, what you want to experience, what you want to give to people, and what you want to receive. Most people have no problem giving, but they have a huge problem receiving, and you can't give what you don't have. There are two currencies in the world. One is money, an object of energy that we put into the flow to get what we want, and the other is faith. Money is important in the pragmatic sense because if you're shopping for the right things like feeding people, building community centers, supporting your family, whatever it is, those are the right things. You can be very, very happy. Here's how the currency of faith works. It's like a GPS of happiness, because not only will faith reroute you when you’re lost, but it will actually change your destination to somewhere better than you can even think of. So, you might have a goal or destination in mind, and then you make a mistake or you have a failure or a setback and by having faith in yourself, you will be rerouted to a better destination than you had planned I know this about myself now. I am healthy. I am wealthy. I am happy. I just have to figure out what I am doing to interfere with my health, my wealth, and my happiness. I don't have to go get it, happiness is already a part of me, it's already one with me. It's already there. I just have to figure what I'm doing to interfere with it. 6 Steps to Deal With Negative Thoughts When we experience negative thoughts, it is important to take a few minutes to contemplate the reasons behind them before you react. I advise following these six steps in order to avoid letting the triggers of your ego get in the way of your actions. 1. Realize that the “lens” we view life through may be a bit distorted. In other words, our view of things may not be reality. While our minds have a way of convincing us of things that aren’t necessarily accurate, we must be willing to question and challenge our own thoughts. These are all signs of distorted thinking. Instead of letting your mind wander, make a conscious effort to take these thoughts into captivity, analyze them, and replace them with healthy thoughts. 2. Avoid judging yourself and others. Often, we unconsciously judge ourselves and others throughout the course of the day. By letting go of the judgements we are making and replacing them with positive thoughts or judgements, we are setting ourselves free of negative thinking. 3. Don’t complain. No one really wants to hear it, and it won’t help you feel better. Take action to fix things that you are unhappy with instead of griping about them. 4. Don’t engage in gossip; it is toxic and divisive. Spreading gossip won’t help you in the long run, even though you may feel better at the time. Gossiping will cause others to lose respect for you, and will cause problems within your family, social circles, workplace, or other places where you engage in the behavior. 5. Find gratitude and satisfaction in your own life. When you show gratitude for the blessings and strengths you have, there is little room to be dissatisfied, envious, or resentful of others. It automatically shifts our thinking to the positive aspects of our lives, rather than focusing on what we’re lacking. Consider creating a gratitude journal and adding to it every day in order to help you stay focused. 6. Get professional help if you are having trouble controlling your negativity. If you are unable to curb your negative thinking or actions towards others, it can sabotage your relationships, your job, and your health. In this case, seek counseling to address the problems you are having.
