Description

The PoMo Witch is for all of us. In a culture constantly struggling to dampen or restrict our full beings and stifle those who are other, we all need the tools and hacks we can find to be our best selves and to fight for the better world. The Post Modern Witch is about showing you those tools without dogma. Queer/Intersectional/Sex +/Poetry Forward.

Let me show the way: the resources you already don't realize you have, the heart that can hold infinite love for yourself and even for a conflict-torn world. Spells for the real issues: sex assault recovery, recovering from failure... Welcome.

In this episode I read The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer.  I pulled the Ace of Cups for us this week.  Big emotions and lots of love.  Lastly, I reflect on how who we were isn't about who we are.  The wake of the boat does not determine the direction of the boat.   We get a chance both to recognize ourselves as we actually are and help shape who we are.
In this Episode I read T.S. Eliot's The Naming of Cats.  I draw the Six of Pentacles which is about Giving and Receiving from fullness in joy.  Lastly, we talk so often about just accepting yourself, but who is that?  So often I think we wonder if a new trait develops if that is us, or what exactly we look like.  We struggle to identify our feelings or notice when we have shifted in our development.  I give ideas on how to start identifying and working with who you are.
In this episode I read Edgar Allan Poe's Dream Within A Dream and explore the theme of hope and hopelessness.  Ewe look like a winner! I drew the Queen of Wands further signs of spring and doing out in the world.  Please remember self care while being out there.  Lastly, I talk further of hope in terms of why both and matter for subjective vs. objective reality.  How both can exist and indeed to give any meaning to free will and predestination, they must exist side by side.
In this episode I read an excerpt of T. S. Eliot's Burnt Norton from the Four Quartets, my favorite poem.  I pulled the Queen of Swords for us this week-an omen for calling out what needs to be called out.  Lastly, I discuss the binary Perfect vs. Imperfect and how in fact perfection is not only not achievable but not desirable.  Oz never did give nothin' to the Tin Man that he didn't already have.
In this episode for April Fool's Day I start off with Gibran's On Adults (Just Kidding, sort of!)  On Children.  This poem reminds us that children are their own people and not chalkboards for us to write upon.  I also draw the Empress, the Queen of Queens Hoozah.  All Hail! I then discuss Sacred Sexuality and the Uses of the erotic for life love, creation and excellence.. Springtime is the time for the new things.  Blessed Be.
In this episode I read Lynn Ungar's the Path and discuss how the path is found in retrospect, not as a glowing road in front of us.  I pulled the 10 of Pentacles heralding spring, bounty, and love.  I finish the episode discussing predestination vs. free will?  Do we choose what we do?  Is there a meaning and a real road to our lives?  Are we just chemicals acting out and creating patterns out of nothing?  How do we understand our lives?
In this episode, after the recent New Zealand killing of 49 at a Mosque, I read Let's Unite by Syed Shah Saud.  I reflect that it's the same number as were killed at Pulse in 2016.  I acknowledge how each time there are such acts, they layer and make the grief greater. I also discuss the difference between having monotheistic and polytheistic views.  I pulled the Queen of Swords for the week: it's time to pull out your sword of justice!  I finish the episode talking about othering and difference: the reasons and perspectives behind a culture of oppression.
In this episode, I read Adrienne Rich's Negotiations, which is about opening with respect to views different from your own.  I drew the three of cups for us this week, which is celebration with friends and family. Lastly, I talk about Beloved Community and how when we have people together we multiply our effect.
In Episode 10, I read 2 of Adrienne Rich's 21 Love Poems (18 & 19).  I also pull the Tarot card the High Priestess-It's a week to believe your intuition.  Lastly, I lead us through an actual ritual from beginning until end.  This ritual is dedicated to creating a stable housing situation.
In this episode, I read Langston Hughes' Theme for English B.  I drew the Knight of Cups--Go Out and Do the Thing from Love and from Awareness, but Do the Thing/In the last segment, I talk about Sacred Contracts and the power of Response Ability.
Episode 8: I read for President's Day Richard Blanco's One Today which was President Obama's Second Inaugural Poem/I drew the King of Wands--The King of Rock N Roll- I feel it comin', the wait is finally over/Lastly I talk about how queer people, immigrants and those who are other partake of liminality, or or betwixt and between, and put in a call for the power of otherness.
The Valentine's Episode:  I read Naomi Shihab Nye's poem Kindness and talk about love/kindness/tolerance/sorrow/giving and receiving. I pulled the Reversed Page of Wands for this week.  All the work may be showing small signs of bearing fruit, but the major harvest is still not yet here. Lastly, I talk about love and Wicca.  "And Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be the Whole of the Law. Love is the Law; Love under Will."
"Foreshadowing" Valentine's Day, I start this episode with Nikki Giovanni's Resignation, one of my favorite love poems.  I drew the Fool card which also seems very apropos for this holiday, all the places where we feel the Fool in life and love both positive and negative.  Lastly, I talk about living a led life, submission and the difference from that and passivity, and how that relates to intention and will.
I start off with Judy Grahn's funeral: a  plainsong from a younger woman to an older woman and reflecting how we carry in our bodies the power and presence of those who have passed.  I drew the reversed Queen of Wands.  This was about being clear about being from our own version of success and making things happen.  I end the episode discussing the importance of casting a circle and creating sacred space as a container for our will.
In this fourth episode, I reflect on William Stafford's A Ritual to Read to Each Other, a call to clarity with each other. I drew the Eight of Swords: about seeing clearly and using the power all around.  Last, I discuss ritual and intention and will.
Published on January 14, 2019 In this third episode, I reflect on Marge Piercy's The Low Road, talk about how to view activism and do it healthily without burning out, draw two tarot cards the reversed Magician and the reversed High Priestess which are about we may not see the fruits of our actions yet but this is the planning time and cover activism.
Published on January 7, 2019 In this second episode, I reflect on Gary Snyder's For All, talk about how to view winter, draw a tarot card for this week and cover the basics of the seasons.
In this first episode, I reflect on Mary Oliver's Wild Geese, talk about how individual spiritual journeys are, draw a tarot card for our journey together and cover the basics of the elements in Wicca and many other traditions.
