Surprise again! We're still not dead! 2021 has gone, shall we say, poorly, but things have finally steadied out enough to get an episode done! We're too scared of jinxing ourselves to say anything about that state of affairs continuing, but hope springs eternal. This time around, join us for the conclusion of everyone's No Good Very Bad Night at Restormir, a moment that may be a contender for Jame's worst, and Tori taking the Grimly Holt for a fairly literal ride.
Surprise! We're not dead! Thank you all so much for your patience while our lives got wildly out of control, we're so excited to be back! After our unexpected hiatus, welcome back and join us for the continuation of the No Good Very Bad Night in Restormir, Brier's ongoing existential crisis, and the question of what, exactly, Lyra Lackwit has been up to lately!
This week, join us for the start of Jame and Brier's No Good Very Bad Night in Restormir, Kindrie's ongoing collection of secrets, and the very first appearance of the very best girl, Rue!Also, stay tuned at the end for an exciting update about what Gabe is doing with their time and why this episode took SO very long to go up!
This week, join us as Bane puts in another appearance, we rhapsodize over Brier Ironthorn, and Tori scares everyone!
This week, join us for a history lesson, the birth of the Rawneth Hate Brigade, and frogs!
This week, join us as Jame makes her escape from the Knorth, Kindrie makes his from the Randir, and several trees make theirs from the Riverlands.
This week, join us for Jame's latest architectural destruction, a serious loss of face, and Tori finally getting the sword to work.
This week, join us as that prediction of Torisen's comes true in dramatic fashion--a shadow, some assassins, and a memorial all come to Gothregor, and Jame takes off the mask.
This week, join us as we meet M'Lady Kallystine, we get emotional about Brenwyr and Aerulan, and Gabriel gets in touch with their inner Labrador retriever.
For the start of Seeker's Mask, join us as we kick off Jame's time in the Women's World with chaos, tragedy, and a fall down some stairs! Also, stay tuned after the outro for an update on episode releases during the Covid-19 outbreak.

In this episode, we have an hour and a half of basically just Hanging Out And Chatting. Spoileriffic topics include Bane, Kindrie, Ashe, Tai-tastigon, and several houses of the Kencyrath. If you're looking for plot or narrative cohesion of any kind, you won't find it here--give us a couple weeks and join us for Sections I-III of Part I of Seeker's Mask (the chapters are going to get a bit weird, but bear with us).
This week, we're finishing up Dark of the Moon, and chatting about our plans for a special episode before the next book!
This week, join us for the aftermath of the Battle of the Cataracts. Jame and Tori face consequences and each other, and we actually start crying about it (and also about Tyrandis).
In this week's episode, join us as all hell breaks loose on the Cataracts, people die, and we both get really, really emotional about it.
This week, join your very sleepy hosts as we wax nonsensical about battle plans, talk up Tyrandis' brilliance, and debate Graykin's life choices. Also, Jame and Tori are finally within a hundred feet of each other, and nothing is okay.
In this absolutely wild episode, Jame and Tori finally show up in the same chapter (although not the same place) and everything goes directly to hell.
This week, Torisen starts to slip into the dark, we meet a new friend, and Ardeth plays spider to Kindrie's fly.
This week, Jame gets answers, and we have a meltdown about Tyrandis.
This week, Torisen fights a war with his past, a war with the dead, and a war with a rock, in more or less that order.
This week, Jame gets lost (again), finds a portal to a dark place, and finally starts to get a handle on her past.

Regarding how long it took the books to be published- my copy of Dark of the Gods ( the omnibus of : God Stalk, Bones, and Dark of the Moon)says that God Stalk was copyrighted in 1982;short story Bones was copyrighted in 1984; Dark of the Moon was copyrighted in 1985. Together, Dark of the Gods was copyrighted in 2000. My copy of Seekers Mask says it was copyrighted in 1994. So....roughly about 10-ish years? Between the stories? And, I don’t think many copies were made to begin with, so a recap is pretty important for new readers! And I think that she did a great job in doing a recap without dragging the story down!

Was very excited to learn about the podcast when I checked Hogdell's site for book updates--thank you guys for your very entertaining and thoughtful commentary which has made my own 3-4 hour commute a little more bearable. I've loved these books since I was a teen and have really enjoyed your enthusiastic discussions about them. They've honestly helped me turn my partner on to the books as we're now taking turns reading godstalk aloud (I too have struggled to summarize the plot to people, and hearing you guys do it so succinctly definitely helped). Thank you!
