John Smailes is one of Australia’s leading motorsport journalists. Luke Youlden is a Bathurst winner, and is the definition of an Aussie battler. A driver who never quite had the luxury or financial backing that so many others enjoyed on their way up the ranks. However, through sheer hard work, determination, and persistence, he’s managed to forge an impressive career in Australian motorsport.Luke began his career in Formula Ford, winning the championship back in 2000. He then went on to be class champion in GT Production and came agonisingly close to winning the Super2 Championship, finishing equal first on points but losing out on a countback.He would go on to compete in over 50 Supercars races, driving for some of the most iconic teams in the sport claiming eight podiums and one very memorable win at Bathurst.In 2021, he retired from Supercars and now is in charge of Porsche Track Experience, and also plays a role in helping to develop the next generation of racers. Alice Buckley is one of the rising stars of Australian motorsport. She began her journey 12 years ago in karting and has since gone on to race in Hyundai Excels, Toyota 86s, and most recently, Trans Am. In 2025, Alice enjoyed a breakout season, winning the Championship in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series. She also shocked the racing community by winning on debut in the TA2 Muscle Car Series, before turning heads once again with victory against a stacked field, including several Supercars stars, in the TA2 Muscle Cars Enduro at Queensland Raceway. Alice joins us on The Podium to talk about her rapid rise through the motorsport ranks, her early inspirations, the mentorship and guidance she’s received from Paul Morris, her experience driving an F4 car at the Ferrari Driver Academy, and the high praise she’s received from Supercars CEO James Warburton.
