Currently working on workshops for independent artists; Ari highlights the business side of the music industry, and detailing the fundamentals of being a music manager and building a healthy bond between business and artist.
Join us as host Elissa Miller talks with some of the folks behind the LGBTQ History Museum of Central Florida: President Alexis Rodriguez, Vice President Nikki Fragala Barnes, and Treasurer Martha Brenckle. We’re discussing everything from what it takes to run a museum, to curating exhibits and galleries that exist primarily online, to highlighting some figures from Central Florida’s history.

A note about language: Language and terms used to describe identity in the LBGTQ+ community have changed over time. When talking about LGBTQ+ folks in a historical context, we have done our best to use the terms those individuals would have used to describe themselves. Various versions of the LGBTQ+ acronym and the term “queer” are also used throughout this episode to describe the community as a whole.

A month's long project lead us into Elissa's first episode here on The Power of 4. We sit down with Roberta Emerson, the Director of New Play Development at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater working on buidling the theatre scene in the Orlando metropolitan. PlayFest is an annual project dedicated to creating and shaping new plays with playwrights in the theater world. Along with Roberta, one the years current playwrights in the festival, California-Based playwright Greg Lam.
The Power of 4 brings you our new voice of the show! North Carolina native Elissa Miller brings her style this season in a whole new way. And we are excited to showcase something new, and also someone new, in the season 6 premiere coming this November.

Asmara Cortes is a former high school teacher, and current graduate student focused on her masters thesis in Latinx racial identity during the The Civil Rights Movement. She guides us thorough the exploration of the culture and history for Mexican Americans, Cuban Americans, and Puerto Ricans. Along with some of her accomplishments and struggles during her education journey.
Charyline Rivera is an actress and future filmmaker. She shares her struggles growing up in a non-traditional Spanish family, and the language barrier within it.
