In this episode, Mariam gently reminds the empowered woman that she transcends society's narrow definition of strength. The episode addresses the common misconceptions regarding the expected behaviors of strong women.
As someone who has experienced or struggled with depression and anxiety, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to defeat negative thoughts and emotions. The battle that goes on in our mind is an ongoing one, there is no point in perfection when it comes to the mind, We have to keep working on our self-awareness in others to overcome this mental battle.
We must first recognize and acknowledge our negative thought patterns to win the battle of the mind. Be open to seeking support when you need it. This can involve seeking support from a counsellor, therapist, or trusted loved ones, practising mindfulness, and actively challenging negative thoughts when they arise.
A few ways you challenge negative thoughts when they arise are having a safe word. For me, it is " I am at peace".The feeling of peace gives me hope and helps me calm down when I am triggered or when the negative thoughts in my mind are about to become uncontrollable.
Daily gratitude, and affirmations that apply to you, hence why I encourage you to write your positive affirmation.
Journaling is a big one for me, it allows me to pour out my mind and reflect on them later. Need help finding a journal that applies to your needs? Download my free PDF journal guide here.

It's important to remember that winning the battle of the mind is not a one-time achievement. It is a continuous process that requires patience, persistence, and self-compassion. But with time and practice, we can overcome the mental debates that go on in our minds.
