I’ve seen it so many times. Coaches put themselves out there, are hugely visible and launch an offer. They’re doing their best to shine. But then one of two things happen:They have incredible results and blow their own mind with their success (and stretch beyond regular capacity so like an elastic band it comes back). They are disappointed with their results and feel frustrated that they didn’t meet their goals.In both cases they frequently shrink. Hide. Go back to their comfort zone or the preference of playing small.  Here’s the thing: if you see yourself in this story know that you’re not alone. This episode is going to meet the right people in the right moment, as every episode does. But it's especially sacred to me because for much of last year I had a broken heart. Kate's work has had a profound impact on my own healing and I wanted to invite her to speak on her experience with grief, how she's been able to channel it as a gateway to pleasure, and why a broken heart can be one of the most powerful catalysts in our life. Trigger warning: This episode includes a mention of loss, sibling loss, and terminal diagnosis.As Creatress of the SensuAlchemy School of Embodied Grief & Pleasure and the SensuAlchemy School Podcast, Kate completed a double degree in Drama and Education, a postgraduate and Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy before she realized there was something big missing on her own path to healing.  A longing to feel whole and reclaim personal power led her to the world of embodiment and somatics. Alongside further studies in integrative trauma modalities and certifying as a Feminine Embodiment Coach, Kate navigated the devastating diagnosis, surgeries and eventual death of her younger sister to brain cancer in 2019. I never identified as a classical perfectionist until I noticed the sneaky ways it showed up for me. *Trigger warning* Please scroll to the bottom for the trigger warning before you tune in. Phew how to recap 2022? There were so many things I navigated BTS this year that I never shared publicly, one really major thing that I finally decided to share on todays recap episode. When I think of my year I feel a massive sense of grief but when I take a second look I’m able to see there were so many incredible moments and experiences and LOVE, my GOD the love I felt this year.In business this was actually the easiest year ever! It was incredibly successful which I am SO grateful for. My clients, my work, my craft, my offerings were the highest calibre they’ve ever been. And we celebrated so many wins as a business but also in our clients businesses. Deep deep gratitude.In my personal life I was tending to a broken heart 💔 and I noticed my tendency to hide when I’m hurting. My people didn’t let me hide. They showed tf up and reminded me of my strength. I am eternally thankful. Someone once said to me “there will come a moment in every woman’s life where she will look at her life and say ‘this wasn’t supposed to happen’, and it’s at that moment the greatest chapter of her life will begin”. I SO feel this. Wrapping up this year I feel stronger and healthier than ever, more confident in why I do this work and where it’s going (big plans for next year 😍) and an acceptance that it’s all been part of a plan greater than I could design for myself. Thank you for being part of my year. Goal setting is less about the hustle and more about the vision. When you have a clear vision you can confidently create the life and business and love (and anything) you're dreaming of. But traditional goal setting does not necessarily get us to where we want to go which is why so many people reach their "milestone moments" and are left feeling disappointed, dissatisfied and depleted. There's a better way: enter Embodied Goal Setting.
