Description
Bob Sham and Angela are film fans discussing a wide variety of films from throughout history and the world. Box office hits to historically significant deep cuts as well as monthly themes of creators, concepts and genres that help us expand understanding of film & find movies they may not otherwise come across. They are not experts but enthusiasts. Not too dumb. Not too smart. Just right. Let’s watch some movies. We love you.

RIGHT HERE is where we begin “AIN’T THAT AMERICA” our state by state movie breakdown that will encompass years. At least 10 movies per state, with two episodes of 5 movie discussions. (see our parameters for the theme below) We’re going in order of statehood and the first U.S. state is amongst the hardest states to pull movies from but we got deep cuts, cult classics, and notorious film fare here in our first batch and we got a thicc episode to show for it. We’re talking about the 2nd smallest state, DELAWARE and we break down some Delaware geography flick by flick as well as presenting plenty of fun facts about the Blue Hen State on that Delmarva peninsula. Part 2 coming soon.

AIN’T THAT AMERICA THEME QUALIFYING PARAMETERS
The movie has to occur within the state at least 60% of the time but preferably more
It doesn’t matter if it’s filmed somewhere else, it matters what the story says, the filmmaker’s perceived setting is key
While many will be filmed and set in the state, being only filmed in the state does not count if the story doesn’t claim the state
It doesn’t matter if the town is fictional within the state, this is actually very common
Some states are harder to gather for so parameters may bend here and there

2025’s overall theme was “Getting it Twisted with M. Night Shyamalan”, in which we discussed every film from the twist master general himself. In the last stretch of the year we hit up his last three…er…four (we forgot one) and lay down a final Director Score for our favorite Indian-American Thrilladelphian. Will he score better than last year’s director, Lars Von Trier? At the end of the episode we reveal who next year’s director will be as well as more of what’s in store for The Projectors in 2026.
