Description
Four-quadrant films are movies designed to appeal to the biggest, widest audience possible. In the process, they can often leave out a lot of LGBTQ+ representation – but end up loaded with subtext. In The Queer Quadrant, hosts Brooke Solomon and Jordan Gustafson examine cinema in all its cultural contexts, and explore why your favorite four-quadrant blockbuster is maybe…not as straight as you think it is.

Jordan and Brooke are joined by writer and singer/songwriter Soraya Sebghati to make fetch happen. We rattle off as many quotes as we can, lament the lack of an Oscar nom here for Best Costume Design, figure out if kids are still mean to each other (yes), talk as little as possible about the musical remake, and push the "Regina George is a lesbian" agenda (true).Follow us on Twitter, Bluesky, and IG! Sweeping romance, the West, sad men, Michelle Williams, horses...this is a Jordan and Brooke certified classic. We pod on, simply, one of the best movies ever as a five year anniversay celebration of the show. It's sad, it's meaningful, it's lovely, it's sexy. It is NOT a goddamn bitch of an unsatisfactory situation (except for the cultural homophobia and Heath Ledger leaving our screens far too soon). Follow us on Twitter, Bluesky, and IG!
