I will never look at pity the same. From this.point forward, I refuse to pity another person for any reason. Pity serves no one in the effort to become their best self. Thank you.

42 hours a week reading. I wonder what my life would be like if I had made this investment. I wonder what a classroom would be like with this type of investment. I would want a school would be like or a state or a country. Or the world.

Love it. Only counsel, not opinions. I would add there is always a path to success where others have failed but it is knowing your mission and staying true to it that finds the gold.

I stumbled into this idea several years ago. Since applying these concepts I've overcome my issues with anxiety and depression. It may not be the answer for everyone but it definitely put me on the right course.

There is only one facet of this talk and informal study that I struggle with. He talks about "we made them". That is my only concern with public policy. Afterwards, they have people the freedom to choose how they would give. Some seemed ridiculous it frivolous. Ultimately, that wasn't good point. Give and give thoughtfully. But, when it comes as a matter of public policy where a limited few choose to make people give away money. Then ridiculous and frivolous becomes a problem. Or, worse, unintended consequences that are far worse than the problem they purport to fix. Inviting and encouraging is far better than making.

I love this man's book. He details this talk. It gives insights to what he overcame to learn these lessons and to achieve success. Amazing. He deserves hero status, not because of his military position, but because of the principles he embodies.
