Mark is a hero in every sense of the term. We discuss his new objectives of charity and joy here in Vietnam. You can find out more about Mark here and perhaps join his efforts:https://www.facebook.com/mark.oconnor.7359Veterans  Vietnam Restoration ProjectThe Veterans Vietnam Restoration Project (VVRP) is a very small, grass roots, non-profit, tax-exempt (501 (c) (3)), humanitarian, non-governmental organization (NGO), located in Garberville, California USA (population 1,350). We were founded in 1988, by Fredy Champagne and a rag-tag group of local veterans. We are totally dependent upon donations for our survival. The VVRP's primary mission is to provide American Vietnam War Veterans (and others who feel the need) with opportunities to return to Vietnam to do humanitarian aid projects. So far we have arranged for 62 Americans (56 men and 8 women) to undertake such projects. (information current as of June 1994).

We all have opinions on food, but Paul Kennedy is extra SPECIAL.  Someone who pays attention to and appreciates the subtle like I do.  He was a professional Chef back in New York. Since then he’s become a world traveler  savoring every experience. Unwittingly became a philosopher in his own way.  His life in Hanoi Vietnam has blossomed. https://paulbkennedy.com/https://twitter.com/paulinvietnamAll episodes of this podcast are available here: https://phuckhangvietschool.wtf/radical-traveler-podcast/We discuss the following topics: First we get into the main reasons Paul decided to travel in the first place.  Starting the first trip with zero traveling experience We take a deeper look at Paul’s perspective on food and culture.  What’s it like meeting fellow travelers? We share some wacky experiences  and realizations we’ve had about foodPaul’s long term mission is to document recipes here in Vietnam ultimately to share his experiences in the form of a cookbook.   We share some tips so you can enjoy your own experience  to its fullest. What have we discovered about the Vietnamese culinary traditions? Paul shares his experience as a business owner and some tips for folks looking to make it happen here in Asia. Finally we dig into the deeper motivations for travel.  Paul Kennedy is a very passionate and engaging guest.  I’d invite you to stick around and enjoy.  Stay Radical! Background music: Huế XưaSinger:  Vân Khánhhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b37AY6UKPQhttp://www.lyrics.vn/lyrics/1044-hue-xua.html

We’re going on a journey today as we meet Trey Rives.  After getting fluent in Vietnamese, these days he’s a tv host and has done dozens of episodes. He’s also a  Vietnamese music video star, a model and an actor, and a local celebrity   He was in a rather hopeless situation in his former life. Orphaned at a young age with no direction but flipped the script when he moved to Hanoi Vietnam. He couldn’t be a nicer guy!  Our core of the episode is 120 minutes long.  Of course we take a much deeper look at  the core of our experiences     First we get into what charmed Trey about Vietnam in the first place.  How did Trey get started hosting tv  and what does it feel like to be on camera in front of 100 million people? After that  we dive into detail with his experience with music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKyRqzQmwIYHow did his travel journey begin? Trey TEACHES vietnamese to foreigners on National TV.  How was that journey?  We each talk about travel opening our minds.  Volunteering: We share our thoughts on our experiences and outline many possibilities for you.We discuss fighting those daily  battles with addiction Finding a new more humble and worldly perspective We both talk a lot about helping others through the same journey we went through.  What are the things we WISH we knew from the beginning? He and I both offer consulting and direct help to people moving here to Vietnam.  If we can be of service then look us up.  https://phuckhangvietschool.wtf/lien-he-bao/https://www.facebook.com/rives.trey.3Trey works with a homestay to help build a bridge for people https://www.facebook.com/homestayprime/All episodes of the podcast here: https://phuckhangvietschool.wtf/radical-traveler-podcast/
