The Random Wrestling Review

The Random Wrestling Review and its sister shows bring you an explicit mess of in-depth wrestling analysis and puerile humour. The main show focuses on a single event from any point in history and breaks it down crudely and with no apologies. RWR Now focusses on events currently taking place in wrestling. The Game is a quiz series featuring regular guests on the panel battling out to show their supremacy over one another. BracketMania sees the crew whittle 16 down to 1 in pursuit of finding the best of any given category and there a number of bonus and special episodes about a plethora of other things. We have covered topics and shows dating from 1984 through to the present day from a variety of promotions including WWE, WCW, AEW, ECW, NWA, NXT and AWA, so there is bound to be something you like when you join Tinky, Old Man, Tom, Stephen, Matt, Alex and other guests as they fumble their way through wrestling’s rich past, present and even future. Listeners beware! This show is not suitable for young ears!

WWE Evolution 2018

In 2018 WWE took the step to put on an all female pay-per-view for the first time to recognise the significant gains that the women roster had made over the previous few years. Of course this came with a significant amount of self congratulatory behaviour from the company themselves, but would that overshadow the action in the ring? That action would include a Last Woman Standing match between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch, and a main event where Nikki Bella challenged Ronda Rousey. The Random Wrestling Review is brought to you this week by James, Rob and Tinky.

ROH The Era of Honor Begins

For the first time ever on the Random Wrestling Review, we are covering a show by Ring of Honor- and seeing as this series is themed around significant events through time, it felt only right to look back at their debut, The Era of Honor Begins. Headlined by a 3 way contest pitting Low Ki against Christopher Daniels against American Dragon, Bryan Danielson, the show is a fascinating window into the primordial days of one of the most influential and important independent wrestling promotions ever. The Random Wrestling Review is brought to you this week by Tom, Stephen and Tinky.

WWE SummerSlam 2002

SummerSlam 2002 sees WWE slightly after the Attitude Era but not quite yet Ruthless Aggression and that's not the only thing that sees the company in transition. After 4 years out of action, Shawn Michaels returned to the ring against Triple H in a non-sanctioned match while in the main event, The Rock was back off to Hollywood but on the way out of the door, was putting over 'The Next Big Thing' Brock Lesnar. All that and an opener for the ages between Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio. The Random Wrestling Review is brought to you this week by Stephen, Matt and Tinky.

AEW All In London 2023

No matter what happens to AEW in the future, the company will always be able to proud about the number of tickets they sold for their All In event in 2023, at Wembley Stadium. Could they also be just as proud of the show they put on for the London faithful on that night-in this week's episode we give our thoughts about the card they offered up and the quality it provided. The main event of course was the match between friends, MJF and Adam Cole for the AEW World Heavyweight Title, meanwhile on the undercard, Will Ospreay battled Chris Jericho and CM Punk faced Samoa Joe in what would turn out to be Punk's last match for the company. WWE Invasion

After the purchase of WCW by WWE, Vince and company had a decision to make about when they were going to pull the trigger on an on-screen war between the two. Their decision to go with the feud just a few short months after purchasing the company, and with a WCW roster bereft of big names, remains a heated point of discussion to this day, some 24 years after the fact. This week we delve into the storyline and more specifically the show perhaps most associated with it.  The Random Wrestling Review is brought to you this week by Tom, Alex and Tinky.

NWA Clash of the Champions 1

As the podcast looks back at important and significant events from history it seemed only fitting that we included the first ever Clash of the Champions TV special- an event famous for its main event where WCW World Champion, Ric Flair, battled Sting in a match where Sting became a made man having been presented as 'The Nature Boy's equal throughout. There was much more to the event than just the headlining contest however, and this week, we take you through it all. WWE Money In The Bank 2011

The pipebomb promo, the raucous Chicago crowd and a main event still lauded as one of WWE's best- when determining the events to cover for a series that asks what shows we would like to cover should the podcast end tomorrow, this one just had to be on it. Said main event sees CM Punk challenging John Cena for the latter's WWE Title with Punk threatening to leave the company with the belt should he win, and Vince McMahon promising that if Cena lost he'd be fired. Add in the obligatory Money in the Bank ladder matches and a battle for the World Heavyweight Title between Christian and Randy Orton, and you've got yourselves a show!
