Episode 31 - The Mummy

2017-11-2156:42

Not the Tom Cruise reboot, nor the 1932 Boris Karloff original, but the 1999 Brendan Frasier one!  This movie elevated Brendan Frasier to franchise leading man and takes on an action comedy feel, ditching the suspense/horror tradition that comes with the traditional egyptian bondage zombie movie. Worth Rewatching?  Tune in and find out! Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Tina Fey wrote the 2004 teen comedy, Mean Girls, based on a book by Rosalind Wiseman, "Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and Other Realities of Adolescence".   The hit film has become a Gen Y cult favorite and features a cast of actresses that have gone on to bigger and better things in Hollywood.   Listen in as hosts, Matt, Grant and Todd try to relate to teen film.  Worth the ReWatch?  Tune in and find out! Listen in as Matt, Grant and Todd travel to medieval Scotland via 1986 Madison Square Garden.  This 80's fantasy epic has everything a 12 year old boy could ask for, swords, castles, medieval warfare, Sean Connery, duels, girls, demons, immortals, pro-wrestling, a Queen soundtrack and a Kurgan!  What could go wrong? Tune in and find out... Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Hosts Matt, Grant and Todd celebrate this Halloween with one of the  most chilling villain performances of all time (thank you, Javier Bardem).  This Coen Brothers film, in combination with a trump presidency, will completely undermine any thoughts you have about the influence you have on your life's outcome.  The ReWatch has decided this film probably won't scare you, but it absolutely will haunt you! Happy Halloween! Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
The best car racing movie ever, or just a bunch of posing next to Japanese imports?  Matt, Grant and Todd are divided on this 2001 street racing movie that captured the heart of America.  Listen in as the ReWatch examines this Paul Walker and Vin Diesel movie that started the "ride or die" legacy!  Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Episode 26 - RoboCop

Episode 26 - RoboCop

2017-10-1754:57

Listen in as hosts Matt, Grant and Todd rewatch the 1987 Sci-Fi classic, Robocop.  Director Paul Verhoeven's U.S. debut (Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Starship Troopers), Robocop has become a staple of any quality sci-fi diet.  However, the question remains, is it worth rewatching?   Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us

Episode 25 - Juno

A movie about adoption?  A movie about abortion? Or just a movie about people dealing with teenage pregnancy?  Matt, Grant and Todd ReWatch and ReReview this movie, Fo' Shizzle, Yo!   Written by Diablo Cody and directed by Jason Reitman, this endearing comedy features Ellen Paige and Michael Cera as two teenagers who end up getting pregnant.  Sit back and enjoy our review of this 2007 dramedy that is "one doodle that can't be undone, homeskillet!" Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Stand up and Cheer for hosts Matt, Grant and Todd as they ReWatch Stand and Deliver. This podcast is better than La Bamba!  Edward James Olmos stars in the “mostly” true story of Jaime Escalante, the math teacher who introduced calculus to the kids of East L.A. Listen in while we discuss the movie and how it differs from what really happened at Garfield High school in the 80’s. Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Matt Grant and Todd discuss 1989 buddy action flick, Tango and Cash starring Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell.  Tune in as we discuss everything that went wrong with this movie.  Hey, there are things to learn from train wrecks!  As we talk about in the show, this movie is so bad, we are still trying to convince Grant that he doesn’t have to get somebody else to watch it in seven days…   Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Episode 22 - Gattaca

Episode 22 - Gattaca

2017-09-1959:18

Voted by NASA as the most accurate science fiction film ever made, this 1997 box office flop has become a respected cult film.  Is it deserving of its increasing popularity?  Hosts Matt, Grant and Todd discuss Gattaca, a sci-fi thriller starring Uma Thurman, Ethan Hawke and Jude Law.  Is it boring, or worth the ReWatch? Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
The ReWatch discusses Revenge of the Nerds, a 1984 sex comedy and the first film from Producer Ted Field and Interscope (yes, that Interscope) featuring a cast and crew that has gone on to great success.  Did this ridiculous little film end up shaping our current view of nerd culture? Listen in as Matt, Grant and Todd help our audience understand the concept of Rape by deception and why that's not okay...in case they didn't already know (oh, good lord...) Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Again, Matt, Grant and Todd are divided on their review of the 1982 classic horror movie, Poltergeist.  Written by Steven Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper (maybe?) this movie is responsible for defining the fears of many children of the 80s.  Can Tangina save this film for our hosts?  Tune in to find out.  Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Episode 19 - Moulin Rouge

Episode 19 - Moulin Rouge

2017-08-2901:04:42

Baz Luhrmann's third movie, Moulin Rouge, proved to be a divisive ReWatch for hosts, Matt, Grant and Todd.  Matt and Grant argue fiercely over Christian (Ewan McGregor) and Satine's (Nicole Kidman) love affair.  Was Christian just a spoiled English brat or did he really love Satine?  Did Satine give up everything for Christian?  The debate almost came to blows, fortunately Todd broke out into song, "The hills are alive, with the sound of muuuusiiiic!" Tune in and find out all of our thoughts on this 2001 musical written and directed by Luhrmann, that was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar in 2002.  Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
In what is probably our worst movie pick yet, we ReWatch the 1997 comedy, Booty Call, starring Jamie Foxx, Vivica A Fox, Tommy Davidson and Tamala Jones.  Mostly just an extended In Living Color skit, Booty Call survives on crude humor and sex jokes.  Matt, Grant and Todd spend almost the entire episode laughing and then apologizing for their insensitivity.  If crude sex jokes and race jokes are not your thing, we can tell you now, Booty Call is not worth the ReWatch. For the rest of you please, sit back and enjoy possibly our worst episode ever! Listen on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play Follow us on Twitter and Facebook or check our website at www.TheRewatch.us
Episode 17 - Blade

Episode 17 - Blade

Is this 1998 vampire, action movie a defining piece in late 20th and early 21st century cinema?  We think so.  Listen in as Matt, Grant and Todd discuss this action heavy vampire movie that heavily influences the Matrix, the Nolan Batman trilogy, and the current success of Marvel Studios.  Wesley Snipes stars in the comic book adaptation that not only redefines super hero movies but also changes the direction of vampire's and vampire movies; away from figures of horror to superheroes and super villains. Listen in as Matt, Grant and Todd ReWatch this early MTV Films venture about high school football.  Matt draws a parallel between sports movies and romantic comedy's, Grant talks about his own high school football experiences, and Todd loves sports slow-mo. In 1984, this action-romance-comedy took the country by storm.  Michael Douglas produced and starred in the film, Robert Zemeckis directed and people loved it.  Thirty-three years later is the movie still inspire our sense of adventure like it did during its original box office release?  Matt, Grant and Todd ReWatch it to find out. Listen in as your hosts relive a film from the very early years of their cinema going history! IMDB rates this movie a 7.0.  This 1989 comedy starring Steve Martin has spawned two television shows and is a cultural keystone for most movie-goers.  Does it deserve the 7.0 rating?   Listen in as we discuss the best and worst parts of this Ron Howard film, that features not only Martin, but also Dianne Wiest, Jason Robards, Martha Plimpton, Keanu Reeves and a very young Joaquin Phoenix.
