The Miami Hurricanes went to Dallas and Jerry's World and proved all of the doubters wrong, winning their second College Football Playoff game, beating Ohio State. The Hurricanes were dominant up front on both sides of the football, and they did enough in both the run game and the passing game to get the W. The story, though, was Corey Heatherman's defense. It was just stellar. Sure, Jeremiah Smith got his, but otherwise, OSU could not get anything else going. The Hurricanes move on to the Fiesta Bowl to play the winner of UGA/Ole Miss. It's a clash of two old foes. This collection of Miami Hurricanes may not remember 2002, but plenty of us Canes fans do. Ohio State has been an enemy beyond enemies since then. This game means a lot, but it will be the toughest test Miami has faced, with the most stakes, in decades. Cam and The Beast break down each side of the football for both teams and make their predictions. There's no other podcast or video pod you need to tune into. This is it right here. The holiday edition of the Real Ones Canes Podcast is HERE! We continue to analyze Miami's opening round win against Texas A&M in the first round of the CFP. Notre Dame needs to STFU already. They dropped USC from their schedule to play BYU. Can we stop pretending they are special? Miami got a great Christmas Present as Mark Fletcher Jr. announced he is coming back! Where does that move leave the RB room? Who is going to hit the portal? Yes, Miami is going to play Ohio State. Yes, many of us are still pissed off about the flag. These players weren't born yet. Different team. Different program, but a win would mean a ton! What is your Canes Christmas Gift, not including a win against the Buckeyes? Let us know in the comments. If you haven't seen it, you have to watch this moment between Francis Mauigoa and Rueben Bain. Go check out the great work that Cam and his staff do at State of The U! This was the easiest show we have ever done. The Canes went into College Station, into Kyle Field, battled the 12th Man, and got the win over the mighty SEC Texas A&M Aggies. It wasn't a pretty game at times. Miami's passing offense was poor. But between Mark Fletcher Jr., Malachi Toney, and a defense that looked as good as any defense that has ever worn the Orange and Green, Miami pulled off what some may have called an upset. Cam and The Beast got in front of the microphones shortly after the game ended to break it all down and take you through the Canes' monumental win. There's not much to say. Two very similar teams will take the field in College Station, TX, on Saturday at noon Eastern in the first round of the College Football Playoffs. The Hurricanes and Aggies will play in what may be the best opening-round game. Cam and The Beast have the best preview of this game you will see or hear. Cam and The Beast start the show by talking about Miami getting ready for Texas A&M and the college football playoffs. Speaking of Texas A&M, their fans take crazy to a whole new level. We've got nothing but respect for them, though. Ray Ray Joseph has decided to enter the transfer portal and leave the University of Miami. In other news, water is wet. Tell me something we didn't know. We wish the young man good luck. There is a ton going on in college football. But we take a deep dive into the antics of the Notre Dame Athletic Director, Pete Bevacqua. Cam compares him to a character from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. And the University of Michigan has all sorts of issues. Their coach was fired and then arrested. Their athletic Director is definitely on the hot seat. This is yet another scandal at a very proud institution with one of the highest achieving athletic departments in college athletics. Who will take their head coaching job? Who will take their soon-to-be-open athletic Director job? As always, we urge you to check out Cam and his staff's great work at State of the U. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Holy Smokes! The Miami Hurricanes are going to their first College Football Playoffs and will face Texas A&M in College Station on December 20. Cam and The Beast bring you all of the info you need to know about the monster 30-player recruiting class Mario Cristobal and his staff hauled in. Cam and The Beast hosted a live show to react to the ridiculous College Football Playoff rankings that were released on Tuesday, December 2. The Miami Hurricanes got the shaft again! The Miami Hurricanes went to a chilly Pittsburgh and thoroughly trounced the Pittsburgh Panthers. Miami gave up only seven points, as the defense was rock-solid. The offense was pass-heavy, with Carson Beck dealing, and Malachi Toney continues to show that he is simply one of the best players in college football. Has the offensive mindset changed since the first half of the season? The Hurricanes have shown they have learned and are no longer losing players to targeting suspensions. Yes, this was a random thought by Beast. The second segment brings us to Cam having to explain all of the ACC tiebreakers that have Duke, with five losses, playing UVA in the ACC Championship game. It came down to the fifth ACC tiebreaker. It's dumb. Speaking of dumb, the boys are not hopeful about Miami's chances to get into the CFP. We have reached the end of the regular season for the University of Miami Hurricanes. It all comes down to this. If Miami is to have a chance to go to the CFP, it needs a win against Pitt on Saturday. Miami is coming off a win against VT. Pitt is coming off a win against Georgia Tech. Both teams still have a chance to go to the ACC Championship Game, with other things needed to happen. Cam and The Beast preview this game in Segment Two, as well as tell you who on this Canes team they are thankful for. Meanwhile, in Segment One, the guys react to the latest CFP Rankings. Cam is angry. Beast tries to be a bit more grounded. They both agree on one thing: Joey Galloway is an IDIOT. Go check out all of the work by Cam and his staff at StateOfTheU. The Canes beat the Hokies, and the guys go through the Good, Bad, and Ugly of the game. The good highlights Carson Beck's performance, Malaichi Toney again being HIM, and Ahmad Moten getting after it. The bad and ugly focuses on the underwhelming run game, the troubles of stopping the run, and the number of penalties, among other things. Oh, and there's always the ACC officiating because it's terrible. In segment two, it's all about the CFP mess. Did Miami have to win by more? Does ND obliterating Syracuse mean anything? Do we even know anymore? Also, we cover what it will take for Miami to make it to Charlotte and the ACC Championship game. Don't forget to check out Cam and his staff's great work at StateOfTheU.com! This is a big show. The guys cover it all. Canes and Hokies? We've got you. Wanna know about the big recruit Mario just flipped? We've got you. Then we absolutely hammer this sham of a College Football Playoff Committee. Everything they say is a joke, but The Beast wants you to know one thing. Listen to find out. In segment two, we flesh out the thought process of the Canes and the QB position. Should they go back to the portal? Should they go to Emory or Luke? Does going to the portal often discourage kids from coming to Miami? We cover it all. Go check out all of Cam and his staff's great work at StateofTheU. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. It's easy to do these shows after such an easy win for the Miami Hurricanes. They beat NC State 41-7 and dominated on both sides of the football. We give praise to so many players, including Gerard Pringle and Jakobe Thomas. Which coach are we afraid of leaving? In segment two, we try to find something to complain about, and we tease our midweek show with an interesting question about Miami's QB game plan. On this episode of the ROCPOD, Cam and the Beast dive back into the Syracuse game and discuss other receivers needing to step up as defenses try to take away Malichi Toney. Also, is the run game ok? We talk more about everyone's favorite Cane, Jojo Trader. Why don't you believe us? We think there may be a conspiracy against the University of Miami by a particular ACC referee. There is data to support this. Call us Refanon. The CFP rankings came out, and the Canes moved up three spots. It really doesn't matter unless Miami wins out. Also, Notre Dame fans can get off their high horse. Miami keeps flipping recruits. Go check out all of Cam and his staff's great work at StateofTheU. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Canes got to 7-2 after beating the Cuse at Hard Rock Stadium. Cam and the Beast break down the game from the slow start of the offense to the defense's ability to make big plays. Mario and the staff emptied the benches, and we got to see some players in action that we haven't seen before or in a while. We even saw Jadais Richard, who made his way back from a torn ACL. We also discussed some nonsense with the CFP committee after we learned that they didn't even consider Miami's win against Notre Dame, for some bogus reason. The Miami Hurricanes face the mess of a team in Syracuse; however, that's not where we spent most of our time this week. The CFP rankings came out. Miami is ranked 8 spots behind Notre Dame, which, if you don't remember, they beat in the season opener. Cam is outraged. The Beast has a different view. What do you think? Dabo Swinney is up in arms about ACC Officiating. Join the crowd, Dabo. Welcome to our world. In segment two, the guys answer listener/viewer questions. Will Miami ever go to the spread? Does Mario know how to recruit skill position players? What bowl will Miami go to (hint: no one cares)? All of this and more is here! Ugh. Welp. The Miami Hurricanes have, for the most part, seen their season go out of the window after a loss at the hands of the Rhett Lashlee-coached SMU Mustangs. So much went wrong that we needed three segments to cover it all. We cover the horrible officiating, which was not the reason Miami lost, but certainly didn't make the Canes' afternoon any easier. We talk play calling. We talked about Jojo Trader's great day, until it became a nightmare of a day. We dove into the horrendous job by the offensive line to limit their pre-snap penalties. We talked about Shannon Dawson and Alex Mirabal. We got to Carson Beck. And. Of Course, we put the bullseye square on Mario Cristobal. We covered it all. Yes, the guys preview the game Miami will play against SMU. They give out their score predictions and talk about all of the former Miami guys associated with SMU. They break down two huge commitments that Miami got this week in the recruiting game. But, let's be honest, this episode is all about the running game and if Miami does indeed run it up the middle too much. We hear from Miami Offensive Coordinator Shannon Dawson as he "educates" the media on Miami's run game. The Beast has some insight from a former Canes' offensive lineman about the run game and about the abilities of Center James Brockermeyer. It's all right here. The Canes came out looking sluggish against Stanford, but the second half saw Mark Fletcher score three touchdowns and the defense pitch a shutout against the Cardinal. Cam and The Beast start the show by looking at the offensive output for the Canes. The running game got back on track, but we did notice something about this offensive line. Carson Beck did enough, and Malachi Toney did it again. The second segment brings us to the mystery question that Cam needed to ask Beast and the defense. Again, the Canes gave up points on the opening drive, but adjustments were made, and more importantly, the players executed the scheme and shut down Stanford. With Akheem Mesidor out, we saw some newcomers step up, and two interceptions were had. We, once again, had to expand the show to three segments as we had to talk about the special teams. Miami got some good gains in the return game, but missed a kick, and somehow forgot to block while watching Mali make some great moves on returns. Also, Cam permits us to talk about the game time and the line for the game against SMU. Also, we shall once again see some familiar faces as the Canes face the Mustangs.
