On October 31, 1963, 6 year old Michael Myers kills his first victim in the form of his older sister. Over the next 15 years Michael is locked up in Smiths Grove Sanitarium where his hunger for taking lives grows until one day he escapes and heads back to his hometown of Haddonfield to continue what he started. That's right, this week we review the movie that started a whole new genre of horror, made Jamie Lee Curtis the very first scream queen AND would go on to have 11 movies and counting in the franchise that span 4 different timelines! (3 of which stem the timeline in THIS movie) That movie is John Carpenter's Halloween starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence and Nick Castle. Does this horror classic still hold up 40 years later? Or does it need to be sent back to the Sanitarium from which it came? We go back to 1992 to review A Few Good Men. Directed by Rob Reiner, the man who directed such classics as Stand By Me, Misery and The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men has an incredible cast that includes Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Jack Nicholson, Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon. In it lies the story of two U.S. Marines who are charged with killing a fellow Marine, possibly after being given an order known as a Code Red. With a nostalgic filled 90's all star cast, does this legal drama captivate the viewer enough to keep them interested for over 2 hours? Or must we try and handle the truth that this movie is only remembered for it's one memorable line? Or should it be added to the list of classics already on Rob Reiner's resume? On February 27, 2009, Swedish film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was released and was very well received by critics, spawning a TV mini series and two sequels.
