What does it mean to clothe yourself with Christ? In this episode of The Refuge podcast join host Tim Hewitt to find out more. We explore ROMANS 13:14, which reads "Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh."
Acts 1:4-5 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, He gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” In this episode Tim discusses how Jesus promised that Holy Spirit would come as a gift from the Father to all of us. But we have to receive Him and then we can begin the journey of walking in the Spirit's presence. He wants to you to find Him right now and wants to help you by giving you all His power, presence, gifts and fruit.  HOLY SPIRIT = POWER, FREEDOM, WISDOM AND FRIENDSHIP. He wants a relationship with you and it ALL begins with HIM BEING A GIFT. Receive Him Today.
OVERCOMING DEATH SEEMED LIKE THE MOST IMPOSSIBLE THING IMAGINABLE. But the apostles bear witness to it in the scriptures. And those of us “who haven’t seen Him yet believe”, bear witness to the IMPOSSIBLE MIRACLE of the Resurrection. In this episode, we will explore the most important event in history.
Hosanna (Episode 6)

Hosanna (Episode 6)

2021-03-2924:23

As we celebrate Palm Sunday 2021, we are reminded in Matthew 21 1-11 that Jesus came into Jerusalem hailed as a Triumphant King. But one week later, the crowds that welcomed Him and threw down their cloaks and palm branches at His feet, and cheered “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” and “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”...would be the same ones who jeered and shouted  "Crucify Him!" In this episode, we talk about the meaning of Hosanna, which is translated "Please, Save Us Now!", and how Jesus is still saving and restoring people today.
During Christmas we celebrate Christ coming to Earth as GOD WITH US. He left His throne to become ONE OF US, so He understands us in every way. He is still here now and wants to heal, comfort, redeem and mend our broken hearts. Jesus desires for you to experience His love, restoration, forgiveness, joy and hope today. He truly is the best gift ever.
While our government, political parties and culture in general is full of divisiveness, hate and polarizing rhetoric...there is a different kingdom ruled by a loving, sovereign king who is calling you to follow Him today. Though a king, Jesus Christ left His throne to die for ALL people, lead us back to a loving Heavenly Father and show us the way of love,  peace and forgiveness. There is great refuge found in Him and He offers hope for. today. The government is upon His shoulders.
What is fear of man? What is fear of the Lord? Well, I have experienced them both in recent years. One is destructive and many people, especially in today's world, experience it every day. The other, the fear of the Lord, will bring life, peace, restoration and healing to your life. I pray this episode, Refuge Found in the Fear of the Lord, will bring a few minutes of hope and peace to you, and that you will encounter the presence of a good and loving Heavenly Father today. Peace and love to you all!
This week's episode, The Bar, is an account of when I first became aware of the Lord as a refuge. It was the night I met Jesus Christ in a Dallas nightclub. He changed everything that night and a bar became a sacred place. And my life has never been the same. I hope this story provides hope and comfort in the fact that Father God is not afraid to go into dark places to find us and express His loves for us.
This inaugural episode provides a welcome message from host Tim Hewitt, where he gets vulnerable and honest about his experience in finding Father God as his refuge during a very difficult time.  And listeners get a look at what to expect from future episodes of The Refuge.  We hope you will join us weekly and be encouraged by stories, testimonies, interviews, and digging into the Word of God.
