Episode 56 - Happy Birthday Resident Evil 3

Welcome to our tribute to Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, the finale of the original PlayStation trilogy which now celebrates its 20th birthday! The REP team are all huge fans of this game and recording was a lot of fun and brought back many wonderful memories. Each member played a particular version, including the amazing seamless fan HD project, and once again ventured into Raccoon City alongside Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveria and friends. We look at how the game has aged, the differing routes you can take, the item/enemy randomization, and of course all the different live selection choices. In the shadow of the inevitable Remake 3, it was nice to return to Raccoon in its original guise and of course old Nemesis himself proved to be just as deadly as ever. We all enjoyed this journey and even discovered brand new things we hadn't seen before, leading to a podcast far longer than originally anticipated. Join Neptune, Batman, Ty, Rob and George Trevor and celebrate the anniversary of this truly wonderful game.

Episode 48 - Biohazard STARS 2

Back by popular demand, Season 4 of The Resident Evil Podcast signs off with the return of feature-length quiz special Biohazard STARS! This time Neptune returns to the role of quiz master presiding over a fiendish selection of Biohazard questions spanning the complete series. We have three teams ready to do battle with the United Kingdom divided by 'Team Up North' comprised of Batman and Ty, and 'Team Down South' with Mr. Spencer and George Trevor. But waiting to outwit them both is 'Team Down Under' made up of Rombie and returning special guest The Selfish Gene. Battle lines are drawn as each competitor has their series knowledge tested to the very limit and of course every true fan should know what the trademark says on a box of grenades in a single frame if you pause the screen and turn your TV upside down and use google translator, right?  And please also extend a very warm welcome to the newest member of our podcast family, little Daisy! Should you wish to take part and beat our scores, download your own answer card courtesy of Neptune and play along!

Episode 28 - Biohazard STARS

A letter of complaint sent to Resident Evil Podcast Towers forces a change in format as the satirical Batman hosts a one-off feature length quiz edition of the podcast in a panel show we're calling 'Biohazard STARS'. Rival team Captains Neptune and George Trevor align with STARS_TyranT and Mr. Spencer respectively as they go head to head for the biohazard crown. Their Resident Evil knowledge is tested to the limit as they compete in a number of rounds featuring taxing questions ranging from the development process of B.O.W.s to just how many different versions of Resident Evil 4 exist today. After over three years of heckling, is this Neptune's chance to redeem himself?

Episode 24 - Resident Evil Miscellaneous

In what was originally going to be the finale for The Resident Evil Podcast, the team sit down for a round table discussion dedicated to topics chosen by community members. These included Wesker's Report 2, the rejected George Romero movie script, U.S. Government involvement in Raccoon City and the chronology of events at the Arklay Mansion following the t-Virus spill on May 11th. The next segment features a lengthy interview with our special guest D.C. Douglas who recounts candidly how he got the part of Wesker and originally had to voice match both Richard Waugh and Peter Jessop before being able to put his own stamp on the character. As a special treat, DC also performs an in-character reading of Wesker's Extra Report; a document shedding further light into the events of 'Umbrella's End'  that signalled the final downfall of the insidious pharmaceutical giant. STARS_TyranT then takes over to provide a chronological retelling of Resident Evil releases over the last generation, starting with the announcement of Resident Evil 5 and the 'running zombies' trailer all the way back in 2005 to Resident Evil Revelations HD being released to consoles in May 2013. Neptune hosts the 'Podcast Awards' and then it's the dramatic finale Season 2 finale of Neptune's Biohazard Quiz. Following this it's a tearful goodbye and then we all ride off into the sunset never to return... (But it's amazing what the impact of Capcom announcing a HD remastering of Resident Evil Remake can do to entice one back to the fold...)

Episode 14: Resident Evil 2012 Retrospective

After being MIA since Episode 8, the manhunt for Mr. Spencer finally ends as Neptune locates him in a rundown bar in Southampton with a hole in his memory and overwhelming feelings of guilt. After insulting the barmaid and almost starting a bar fight, Neptune persuades Mr Spencer to return to the Resident Evil Podcast fold. It’s where he belongs… The main focus of this episode is a retrospective review of 2012 due to the unprecedented amount of media that was released for the series.Despite being of varying quality, we look back at Resident Evil: Revelations,Operation Raccoon City, Resident Evil: Damnation and of course Resident Evil 6, offering thoughts and opinion with reflective eyes. Neptune was also planning an extensive review of Resident Evil: Retribution but thankfully the threat of death from the rest of the panel vetoed such a feature. We finish with a small segment on our hopes for the series moving forward and finally the quiz.

Episode 13: Resident Evil 6

Originally recorded just weeks after the game's initial release in October 2012, this episode features a fully comprehensive breakdown of the entire game from story, to characters, to game play and those god-awful vehicle sections. No stone is left unturned as Resident Evil 6, the good and the bad, is taken to task by the REP team. Neptune cannot work out how we've evolved from searching for gold crests round a spooky old mansion to chasing evil clones round China in a Mazda MX5, whilst S.T.A.R.S_Tyrant builds up Derek Simmons as a potential Albert Wesker successor only to be dismayed by Capcom's ultimate resolution for him. Meanwhile, George Trevor searches hard for any positives about the game and TheBatman breaks down the overall plot and talks a bit about some of the new organisations and world-building aspects that add to the overall universe. But perhaps the biggest question remaining is where exactly can the series can go from here?  So sit back, turn off the lights and relax. This is the big one...

Episode 4 - Resident Evil: Dead Aim

Time to go back to the archives again as we revisit a criminally overlooked classic with Resident Evil: Dead Aim/Gun Survivor 4: Heroes Never Die. This particular title is a favourite amongst the REP team and we break the game down and see how it has stood up to the test of time. Originally recorded in April 2012 this episode also features a comprehensive breakdown of the Resident Evil 6 Captivate trailer and several Alex Wesker theories years before Revelations 2 was born. We also discuss how Japanese translations have revealed a completely different outlook on the history of the t-Virus, providing yet another example of how much Western audiences are missing out on important plot details. Finally, making his debut as a guest is none other than Sean 'S.T.A.R.S_TyranT' Hall who would later join our team on a permanent basis. Please enjoy.

REP Presents: Resident Evil Audio Commentary

It may have taken six years but we have finally sunk to a new low and reached topics we promised we would never touch when we first launched this podcast venture. The first live-action Resident Evil feature film written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson is a highly devisive and controversial entry resulting in many colourful and divided opinions across the fanbase. Those who listen to our podcast regularly will be well aware that aside from perhaps our astute and well spoken host, the film doesn't rate very highly on our spectrum. But we invite you now to join us in a viewing of the film with our commentary and opinions for your enjoyment. A tremendously excited Neptune is joined by Rombie, Batman and STARS Tyrant as we sit down and 'enjoy' this 'thrilling entry in the Resident Evil franchise'. For some of our panel it was the first time viewing the film for well over ten years and the result was interesting to say the least. Rombie at least provides many interesting annecdotes having closely followed the development of the film back in the day and Nick tells a tale about how he almost acquired a Cerberus prop from the film. We apologise in advance for some audio syncing issues with this one. Beacuse of our exemplary professionalism and enthusiasm about this particular venture, some of us had to quickly source last minute copies of the film in order to do this and therefore the speed issues between PAL and NTSC were an unavoidable factor. Be prepared to fast forward and rewind several times! This was an experimental and completely unedited spin off of the regular podcast so if you would like to see more of these commentaries, be it these films, the CGI movies or even playthroughs of the games themselves, then let us know. Please enjoy.

REP Presents: Resident Evil Apocalypse Audio Commentary

Welcome back traveler to the dark times of the live action Resident Evil films. This time our team brave Paul W.S. Anderson's take on the Raccoon City incident in the form of Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Directed by Alexander Witt and produced and scribed by Anderson, this thrilling adventure sees Alice (Milla Jovovich) fight hordes of flesh eating undead, rabid zombie dogs, and some bloke in a rubber suit cos-playing as the Nemesis. Fan favourite Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) is also here alongside Carlos Oliveria (Oded Fehr). This is a stunningly faithful adaptation featuring the Special Tactics and Rescue Squad (Service anyone?), Charles Ashford (who?) and Nikolai Ginoveaf (who is now a good guy catching Jill's eye). Join Rombie, Neptune, Batman, STARS Tyrant, a returning George Trevor, and special guest Sonny Bauer for this deep-rooted analysis of this thrilling adventure. Again, Neptune is more excited than he really should be, Ty surprises himself with certain shots and Rombie as usual is the voice of common sense. He also full of praise for Anderson's use of little electronic maps to transition between scenes. Please enjoy and remember only a complete idiot would spend £25 on these films. Thankfully none of us are that stupid...

REP Presents: The Outtakes

As a special treat to those who have supported us over the years and helped us reach this milestone of 100,000 Podbean downloads, we present a collection of outtakes taken from across all five seasons of the show. Of course our professionalism is exemplary and we never, ever make mistakes - but now and then the odd error does occur. Fluffed lines and strange noises are just the tip of the iceberg here. Who likes to undress whilst interviewing DC Douglas? Who engages in other 'questionable' hobbies whilst the podcast is recording? What other podcasts discuss the complexities of the Progenitor Virus whilst simultaneously cleaning up dog poo from the bathroom floor? Do you recall the episode where one of us was hit over the head with a vase and burgled mid-recording? And who just had to have too much wine when we happened to feature our first female guest? These are just some of the escapades we have in store for you here. We are so grateful for your continued support and we will vow to carry on fighting the good fight when it comes to all things Resident Evil. So sit back, enjoy, and shake your head at a bunch of idiots with a blatant inability to say 'goodbye' in the correct order.

Episode 108: Resident Evil - The T-Virus

Welcome to a deep-dive on one of the key lore elements of the entire franchise. The t-virus is what started it all, creating the various zombies and monsters we have all fallen in love with for almost 30 years now. In this episode, we extrapolate the virus from top to bottom, going back to its origins with the Progenitor Virus, then looking at the entire history of Umbrella's t-virus project, discussing all its variants, its properties, and what the goal was behind it all. Also discussed is the Tyrant Project and some of the known t-virus variants that were developed after Umbrella's demise. In the news we look at various Requiem updates and GOG's release of OG Resident Evil 2 and 3, including the concerning quotes that Capcom appear so dismissive of these original classics. Finally Nick gets all excited about Resident Evil: Survival Unit, so much so he's booked time off to play it. Please enjoy.

Episode 107: Happy Birthday Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

Released in the United States 20 years to the day, the PS2 version of Resident Evil 4 marked a major first in the Biohazard series - the first subsequent re-release with a major canonical add-on in the form of the wonderful Separate Ways campaign. At the time whilst such a notion greatly annoyed GameCube owners, many saw Separate Way as the extra that "saved the game" in terms of connection to the overall Resident Evil lore. 20 years on, REP once again make their way back to Spain to replay this short and sweet Ada adventure beginning to end. We recount our tales with tips and tricks from various platforms - that is if Neptune does not have any issues playing with a WaveBird controller. News includes the surprising revelation that Switch 2 is getting a Requiem release - as well more updates from Survival Unit - much to STARS TyranT's dismay!

Episode 106: Resident Evil Requiem Demo

With Capcom building up the hype nicely for Resident Evil 9 at recent gameshows, we thought it would a good idea to discuss the recently released (albeit limited) demo that was made available at Gamescom 2025. To bring some first hand impressions to the table, REP is delighted to have legendary content creator, writer, voice actor and all round biohazard superfan, Suzi the Sphere Hunter join Neptune, Rombie and Astra (Mr. Spencer) in this bonus podcast! Suzi is able to share the time spent exploring this forsaken hospital, the intricacies of the monster (Lisa?), camera angles, ray tracing and tactics that fans can all look forward to when the game drops next year! (Hopefully the demo soon!) A big thanks for Suzi for taking the time to share with us and we hope you enjoy!

Episode 105: Resident Evil Revelations 2 Retrospective

In what can be described as one of the last canonical spin offs in the Resident Evil series, Revelations 2 is now a decade old - so what better opportunity to return to this hellish island and see how this early PS4/Xbox One title holds up 10 years later.  A known favourite game of George Trevor and most of the team as a whole with credit often being given for bringing horror back to the series. Can Neptune finally get to grips with the controller lay out and does the once fancy episodic release structure actually hinder it in today's market? We look back on this quirky and often campy/b-movie title to see if we can recommend it to new and old players alike. Meanwhile the news is dominated by some non-canon up and comings with Survival Unit and Resident Evil 2: Dead Shot. Enjoy.

Episode 104: Happy Birthday Resident Evil 4

Has it really been 20 years? 20 years since the sequel that forever changed the series, that became so divisive that it split the fan community, and yet was so groundbreaking it won numerous awards, spawned dozens of imitations and is likely the reason Resident Evil is still going strong to this day? Join the REP crew as we take you through the game from beginning to end, recounting new stories along with old experiences from our first ever playthroughs on the Nintendo Game Cube way back in 2005. What are the best tactics for the village siege? What were the developers on when they designed the castle, and why does the game still endure to this day? In the news we catch up with Resident Evil Requiem updates and the surprise announcement of new mobile game Resident Evil: Survival Unit. Guess who on the team is most excited about that one?

Episode 103: Resident Evil Requiem Reveal

Finally after what has felt like an endless wait, Capcom have formally announced Resident Evil 9 by debuting a trailer at Summer Games Fest - and boy did it surprise! In a move no one was anticipating, we are returning to the ruins of Raccoon City in a somewhat fitting move as we approach the 30th anniversary of the series. But perhaps even more surprising was the reveal of a new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa from the Outbreak games! Join us as the REP team dissect the reveal trailer from top to bottom, looking at possible plot points, characters and gameplay speculation. In the news we look at OG Resident Evil 2 and 3 being made available on the Playstation Classics Catalog and we finish off with another edition of Neptune's Biohazard Quiz.

Episode 102: The Future of Resident Evil

The title says it all! With Resident Evil 9 still someways off, we take this unusually lenghty gap between announcements from Capcom (in fact we think it's the longest in the 30 years of the series) to delve into the possibilities of what is next to come for our favourite horror franchise. Such has been the gap, we have not really done a podcast like this since the pilot and together with comments from our patreons, we examine what could be next both out of universe and from a lore perspective. Yes, this means a re-examination of that REmake train and discussion of the future of spin offs (if any). We have multiple hopes from the fans on what they want to see next too from the lore perspective - a continuation of the Hound Wolf Squad story, more Mia Winters, or perhaps even a prequel with George Trevor - no prizes for guessing which team member that came from! In the news we also examine the now-confirmed Resident Evil movie reboot from Zach Cregger.

Episode 101: Happy Birthday Resident Evil Outbreak File 2: End of the Road

Welcome all as we bring the curtain down on our year-long Resident Evil Outbreak retrospective. We are down to the last scenario of File 2, the aptly named End of the Road, and battle Hunters, Zombies and a quite relentless Tyrant as we all make a break to escape Raccoon City before the missile (or is is missiles?) drop.  Getting Linda Baldwin to safety can potentially save millions of lives, but does Neptune realise that? What is the best ending? Just how valuable is the remote bomb switch for the Tyrant, and when is the right time to use it? These are just some of the quandaries faced by our team during one last desperate bid to escape.  In a meaty news section we discuss sales figures and the recent rumours about Zach Cregger overseeing the latest reboot of the live action film franchise. Rombie touches on the post-release and future plans of the George Romero Documentary and finally STARS_TyranT gives his thoughts on REVerse following news its servers are going to be shutting down. Please enjoy.
