Description
Two men who’ve been at the heart of the political world - former Downing Street Director of Communications and Strategy Alastair Campbell and cabinet minister Rory Stewart - join forces from across the political divide. The Rest Is Politics lifts the lid on the secrets of Westminster, offering an insider’s view on politics at home and abroad, while bringing back the lost art of disagreeing agreeably.

The only time the world saw Nelson Mandela really angry was when Bush decided to send in the troops. He said Bush didn't know how to think. Turns out Mandela was right again. He knew it would end badly.
"The Rest Is Politics is a popular podcast hosted by former British political figures Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart. The show offers candid discussions on political events, issues, and behind-the-scenes insights, blending personal anecdotes with expert analysis. Campbell, known for his time as the communications director for Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Stewart, a former Conservative MP and international development expert, provide contrasting viewpoints that create engaging, nuanced debates. Their chemistry and differing political backgrounds contribute to a balanced and insightful look at global and domestic political landscapes, resonating with listeners who appreciate deep, authentic political discourse." https://carparkingapk.tr/
Hello Rory and Alistair, Very much enjoy you both on the Rest is Politics, UK and US, but for ages really struggling with the sound quality. Whether on speaker/earphones sound is always muffled and distorted to the extent it is hard to understand the excellent content. The most common reason to unsubscribe from a podcast is poor sound quality I'm told, and I really don't want to do this so please can you get someone to look into it?. many thanks Jan
Listen to two men who called the 2024 US election for HARRIS 😂 Fortune-telling this is not.
Gentlemen - much as I enjoy your podcast ... following the 2008 banking crash, unforeseen by most economists (any economist), many reputable economists - The Times' for one - were heard of no more. Presumably they're fishing some idyllic riverbank. Do you gentlemen have any plans to wear sack-cloth, if not ashes ? Derek Reeves, South Ockendon.
where did Albanese get the 4 million dollars for his holiday house, you ask? he has been an MP for 28 years and not much of that was on the back bench. backbenchers get about $220,000 AUD a year. over 3 decades, it adds up to a lot.

hi from Tanzania. brilliant as ever - I think you're spot on about VP Harris's vulnerability on the economy. everyone is carried away with the euphoria of the convention but this will fade and self interest will take over. And as someone concerned with the planet and our awful impacts on it, I find this profoundly depressing.
