The Runebase Podcast

Welcome back to another installment of the RUNEBase podcast. This week, I had the pleasure of speaking with three of my contemporaries from 0xVentures. I spoke with AiRTX, THE BULL, and UncleBadgers, two of the founders and one of the leaders of the 0xVentures DAO. The 0xVenture DAO is something you all might be familiar with, but essentially, it's a group of about 80 people - traders, investors, builders, developers, entrepreneurs - who come together primarily on a discord server and work on different projects together. They build, grow, and invest together all within a DAO structure. With this conversation, we talked about: - The background and story behind 0xVentures - The DAO model and what decentralized autonomous organization means - The projects that 0xVentures are driving forward - The treasury, where they derive funds from and where they choose to allocate those funds - The implications this model has for the future of crypto and the world The conversation was so fun and this community is so passionate and energized by the future of Defi. In today's episode, I had the please of speaking with one of the creators and one of the advisors of The Ethereans, a delightful NFT project I stumbled upon and quickly became obsessed with. For this show, I spoke with Ethereans Advisor Tony Herrera and Designer Mr. Oscar. July was a pretty wild time for the THORChain ecosystem. THORChain suffered a series of exploits throughout July, and it really shook the community and took us all by surprise. During that time, there was a lot of uncertainty and fear around what was going on. Now that things have calmed down, we wanted to take some time to take a deep dive into what happened so that you are up to date. So today, in part one of our two-part series, we will be talking to two great guests that really know their shit. We will be talking to Chris from GrassRoots Crypto, and RUNEBase's own Tratium. The three of us will explain exactly what went down in the series of exploits that took place over the course of the last 3-4 weeks: -Exploit 1 - Whitehat ERC-777 -Exploit 2 - Router Wrapping Exploit. ETH deposit transactions. Caused ETH out of pool. -Post-Exploit Error - Premature network restart before ETH pool balanced. Arbs made pool insolvent. -Exploit 3 - Tricking Bifrost. ERC20's drained for $7.7M of ERC20s including $4.xM XRUNE.
