Steve Saxlund - Girl Dad, husband, entrepreneur and multiple business own joins us and this is a game changer on how to think about the obstacles and opportunities that life presents us! Oh - AND he's a 3X National Wrestling Champion!Steve shares with us how so many of the lessons he learned early in his youth and college sports careers have shaped how he looks at life which has resonated in being a dad, business partner and husband. How he's been able to navigate the new normal with a business or two that rely heavily on sports and people being able to attend and enjoy them. We can not love Alyssa Mae's drive, confidence, passion and desire to help people any more! From an early age, she knew that she wanted to own a salon and be a force behind the chair - but her dreams have continued to grow and so has her business footprint - most of her growth is from big ideas and not taking no for an answer. Her business model is also evolving to one that she is able to not only continue to enhance and expand her skills, but helping those around her do the same - she has a passion for mentoring young professionals that will either be employed by her or own their own businesses! Not only is she mentoring in business, but Bio Girls has filled a hole in her life. "I want them to know that we all are great inside" She is able to use her experiences as well as compassion to help mentor and support young girls through the program. As she's said - she's getting more from the girls than she could ever give to them. She gushes about the strong people that she surrounds herself with - specifically detailing the influences her amazing Grandma, mom and step dad have been - as well as the network of lifelong friends. And guess what - she's only 29! Wow - she's a pretty amazing woman!
Busy is an understatement for our guest Tara Brandner. She's a NP in a fast paced clinic, mother, wife and ADVOCATE! If there was a picture in the dictionary for Advocate, it would be her! After struggling with infertility and finding very little resources, support or information then hearing from others their stories of mental and physical strains as well as that of lack of insurance or financial resources - she KNEW her infertility was not done with the birth of her son. Tara not only brought a bill to the ND Legislature, she's started a Nonprofit for those in ND and just expanded to SD. She and her entire team are working endlessly to bring support, resources and awareness to a disease, YES disease, that is affecting almost 20K in ND alone. She is an inspiration and you'll be awed by her focus and passion for helping others!
Kari Moch joins us to share her journey - which is not just one story or situation that made her the person she is today - but the many trials and tribulations that makes her the resilient & inspirational person that she's become. She compares her journey to that of a lotus flower, rising from the mud to become something more and beautifully sharing with others.Imagine all before 33 years old - infertility, being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis & enduring months in and out of the hospital and having surgeries, knowing that you will not be able to conceive another child and choosing to be open about your adoption journey to then finding a match and expecting your new son any day ... ALL BEFORE turning 33! Karli shares with grace, compassion and realism and she is finding her voice, again, to share and connect with those that are going through similar struggles and need to connect and gain support .... she is simply amazing!

What better way to support and get through the "new normal" and "unknowns" of Quarantine 2020 then get your girlfriends together to talk about ALL THE THINGS - ALL THE FEELINGS!This one is a little different, However, in that since it's a "Quarantine" and we ALL need to be Social Distancing - we embraced technology and got 5 of our amazing friends on a Face time chat and it was so fun! We talk about how each of us are navigating through this time, how we are dealing with work, how the small business owners are coping with employee dynamics and their future, how we are relating and dealing with family - kids and significant others! What we are enjoying and what is annoying the heck out of us! The most important thing is how we are supporting each other - this is a time like none of us have ever experienced and although we can't be next to each other we can find different and impactful ways to be there foe each other - in whatever way possible.
Megan McManus joins us to share her joyful outlook on life despite the monumental hurdles she overcame in her teens.Imagine finding out at age 15 that you have cancer and have to endure multiple surgeries as well as chemo treatments. Although her first reaction was anger - WHAT ABOUT PROM - she got through the ordeal with a strong & positive family by her side giving her strength to get to her celebration milestone of cancer free. Now imagine looking forward to getting back to being a teen, then finding out that your dad had stage 4 colon cancer - how does a family deal with the inevitable while continuing their positive approach to life and understand their "new normal."Megan has taken her early life challenges and brought a perspective of Joy over Happiness in her life and that of others. Whether volunteering at Kamp Kace, a camp for children that have battled or are battling cancer, or building relationships with her 35 Under 35 participants, Megan is focused on that internal compass that JOY can only provide her.

To be know "for the love that I bring - I love to love people" is a testament to the person Tricia is and as she reminds us all to cherish the people in our lives and knowing their stories - the significant as well as the everyday - is so so important for today and the future.

Time to change that mind set!Natalie Perhus joins us to talk about how she is utilizing her individual talents in Marketing to contribute to Rebuilding Together's organization, which helps lower income, Vets and people in need of home repairs. Natalie knew she may not be able to do the needed repairs, but she could help get the Organization's mission out as well as create awareness and help to recruit more volunteers and donations through Social Media and other Marketing efforts. She's loved being able to change the lives of those in need and who appreciate these life changing contributions that Rebuilding Together can bring. There are so many organizations that need your support, not just during this week of Giving Hearts Day, Feb 13th, but all year long. Monetary donations are wonderful but we all have individual talents that are needed as well to help them flourish!

After working in a large health care organization and finding that they were feeling weighed down by their own expectations of themselves and the needs of others, they took 6 months to form the type of clinic that would fulfill a need for women but also for themselves. They now have the freedom to control their content, focus areas and needs of their patients and build upon the belief that one day, they will be able to offer a place that women can go for all their "self care" needs from therapy to nutrition to mindful awareness, yoga and everything else in between.

Cassie Kasowski joins us to share her journey that lead her to becoming just 1 of 5 female operated/owned Mental Health & Addiction facilities Practitioner within the tri-state area - opening Beth's Place 18 months ago.Cassie lost her mother, Beth, to addiction - which would of seemed nearly impossible considering the highly successful, generous and respected woman she was. But addiction can happen to anyone in any type of circumstance. Cassie shares her story, the trauma that took place after her devastating loss, the ways she tried to cope and ultimately finding her way out and into the path that leads her to Beth's place.
