With the bye week now behind them, the Miami Dolphins are back to work preparing for the final six games of the season. First up: the struggling New Orleans Saints. On its face, this looks like matchup that favors the Dolphins. The Saints' offense has been largely out of sorts all season, save for the work of WR1 Chris Olave. Tyler Shough took over at quarterback from Spencer Rattler and has been uninspiring. Future Hall of Fame running back Alvin Kamara hasn't been able to operate as his typically high level and he left the Saints' Week 11 game against the Falcons with a knee injury. The Saint's defense has been better, but they are not the dominant force they have been in years past. Can Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins' offense, which was not firing on all cylinders in Spain two weeks ago, recover and perform well enough to earn the Dolphins a third straight win? Can their defense continue to improve and shut down the underpowered Saints? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss all of this and more on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com! 🚨DISCOUNT ALERT!🚨 Join us at Patreon.com/DolphinsTalk immediately after the live stream ends for tonight's episode of SODS Xtra where Aaron and Josh will look ahead to Week 12 of the NFL season, picking each game – PLUS BAGEL OF THE WEEK! The Miami Dolphins have reached their bye week for the 2025 season sitting with a disappointing 4-7 record and having already parted ways with their GM.
With six games left in the season, now is a good time to look at what the possible paths forward are for the Dolphins, both for the remainder of the 2025 season and beyond.
Aaron and Josh are back with their thoughts on what those possibilities look like and which outcomes would be the best for the team longterm.

If you watched the Dolphins in Sunday morning's game against the Commanders, you saw two evenly matched teams struggle their way through 60 minutes of football. It wasn't so much a war of attrition as it was a struggle to see who could screw up the least. Ultimately, despite some curious play calling and decision making from Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins came out victorious in overtime.
Rather that being particularly informative about how the Dolphins are growing under the leadership of Mike McDaniel, the game proved to reinforce the belief of many Miami fans that the team has peaked under McDaniel. The sloppiness and lack of attention to detail that have been hallmarks of McDaniel's teams were present again on Sunday morning. Sure, they won, but how much of the victory was down to the Commanders being the last team to make a mistake?
Aaron and Josh are back with their observations and takeaways from another mediocre Miami Dolphins performance on this episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
It's incredible what a single week featuring a surprisingly commanding victory over a top-tier opponent can do! Suddenly, a segment of the Dolphins' fan base has their heads in the clouds thinking of magical possibilities for the 2025 season. A win in Spain over the struggling Commanders may very well send the Dolphins into the bye week believing anything is possible.
The truth is that the road is still long, bumpy, and winding, but the Commanders do appear to be the right opponent at the right time for the Dolphins. Washington has given up at least 25 points in each of their last 5 games – all losses. Three of those games saw Washington giving up at least 38 points. Their starting quarterback is out with an injury, they are missing key defensive players, and they seem to be in as great (or even GREATER) disarray than the Dolphins.
But can Miami actually build on their performance at home against Buffalo? Can they keep some positive momentum going? Will Tua Tagovailoa stay out of his own way Will Mike McDaniel call a good game?
All of these questions and more will be answered as Aaron and Josh return for another fun-filled episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
Well...we did not see that coming.
The Miami Dolphins played their best game of the season and WHOOPED the Buffalo Bills 30-13 in Week 10. They offered solid performances in all three phases and were helped by Buffalo committing uncharacteristic errors. The result was satisfying for a good portion of the Dolphins' fan base, offering catharsis in a season where it's been hard to come by.
Of course, for others, this performance was meaningless, moving the Dolphins down the 2026 draft board and keeping the door cracked open to possibly retain head coach Mike McDaniel beyond the current campaign.
Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the game and the fallout on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
When news broke Monday morning that the Miami Dolphins had traded Jaelan Phillips to Philadelphia for a 3rd round picks in the 2026 draft, most Dolphins fans expected at least one more trade to free up cap space and add draft capital. None materialized.
Now the Dolphins find themselves in a division with the dominant Buffalo Bills, a resurgent New England Patriots team, and the NY Jets, who are loaded with draft capital and fully embracing a tank and rebuild strategy. The Dolphins' approach is unclear, but seems to be pointing towards...trying to salvage the 2025 season and the job of their head coach? Yikes.
Salvaging anything at all is not going to be easy as all signs point to another lopsided loss coming this week as the Buffalo Bills come to town fresh off a victory over their arch nemeses Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Aaron and Josh are back to reflect on a week where the Dolphins' position in the AFC East and NFL seems to have gone from bad to worse and to preview this Sunday's divisional matchup with the Bills. Join us for another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
FINALLY!
After another embarrassing loss (this time at home and on a national broadcast), Stephen Ross finally announced on Friday that he and the Miami Dolphins were parting ways with General Manager Chris Grier.
Champ Kelly was assigned the role of Intern General Manager and on Monday morning we learned he had completed a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles that sent DE Jaelan Phillips to Philadelphia in exchange for a 3rd round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Aaron and Josh are back with reactions to all of this as well as thoughts on who else could be on the move on what is a celebratory episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
Well...that was unexpected.
The Miami Dolphins absolutely dominated the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, earning a decisive 34-10 victory in the process. After looking out of sorts and disinterested the previous week, the Dolphins bounced back in a big way.
While it was a very strong performance, how much of it was down to the Dolphins making adjustments and how much of it was due to the Atlanta Falcons running out a team down their QB & WR1? What does this victory mean in the micro and macro sense for Miami?
Aaron and Josh are back to discuss on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
It's been another banner week in Miami Dolphins Land! Darren Waller headed to IR, Tua Tagovailoa admitted he struggles to see over his offensive linemen, and Mike McDaniel is still, well, Mike McDaniel.
This week, the Dolphins head north to Atlanta to battle the Falcons. Can Miami slow down the dynamic Bijan Robinson? Will Michael Penix find Darnell Mooney and Drake London over and over again? What about Kyle Pitts? Can the Dolphins' offense conquer Jeff Ulbrich's defense, which vividly gave Josh Allen fits just a couple of weeks ago?
Aaron and Josh are back to discuss all this and more on another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
***WARNING: Profanity***
After another dismal showing by the Miami Dolphins in Cleveland on Sunday, it has never been clearer that the time for change for the team is RIGHT NOW.
Unfortunately, owner Stephen Ross continues to be loyal to a fault, refusing to move on from his recently extended head coach without giving him "a fair amount of time to turn this around."
Will any changes be made? If so, when? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss on what is sure to be an angry, entertaining episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
Cleveland is often referred to as the "mistake by the lake." This Sunday's game in Cleveland between the Dolphins and the Browns might very well be called the same thing as both teams enter the game with matching 1-5 records.
For the Dolphins, the week leading up to the game has been particularly noisy. Tua's comments to the press following Sunday's loss caused a significant uproar, but trade rumors have begun swirling as well. Add that to the rampant speculation that Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier are nearing the end of their time with the Dolphins and you have an organization struggling to hear itself think and focus through a cacophony of distractions.
Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the game and the off-field nonsense on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
Another day, another Dolphins loss.
And, once again, we saw familiar themes. A struggling defense, a disjointed offense, a failure to adjust, and a team incapable of closing the deal. There is plenty of culpability to go around: your WR1 can't consistently catch the ball cleanly, the defense is absolute trash against the run, the offensive line struggles to execute, the "franchise" QB misses open receivers and throws crucial interceptions, and the head coach seemingly has no control over the team as a whole.
There is possibly no greater illustration of this last point than the "franchise" QB calling out "leadership" and players showing up late to players-only meetings. There is a culture of finger pointing and blame casting inside the Miami Dolphins locker room and that is the responsibility of the head coach.
Aaron and Josh are back to discuss Sunday's game and why time needs to be up for Mike McDaniel on today's episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
SODS - 380 - Chargers at Dolphins Preview by The Same Old Dolphins Show
The Miami Dolphins got out to a 17-0 lead on Sunday and fans were feeling as good as they could have possibly felt about their football team. And then, Carolina adjusted. As has happened many times before, the Dolphins failed to counter and were manhandled on the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense. When they thought they had done enough to escape Charlotte with a victory, the Panthers kept pushing and the Dolphins' horribly inept defense could do nothing to stop them. It was, quite simply, a disaster.
Aaron is joined by David Bearman to unpack it all and determine where this team goes next including when the team's head coach and GM will inevitably be handed their walking papers. Join us for another episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
After losing Tyreek Hill for the season en route to a 27-21 victory over the NY Jets on Monday night, the Dolphins travel to North Carolina on a short week to take on a Carolina Panthers team in search of its identity. In their only home game of the season, the Panthers shut out the Atlanta Falcons, but they have looked lackluster in their other three games. Do the Dolphins serve as another "get right" opportunity for Carolina?
Can the Dolphins maintain the offensive success they found on Monday night and transform their offensive identity to makeup for the loss of their WR1? Can their defense finally take a step forward against a banged up Carolina offensive unit? Is a second straight win in the cards for the Fins?
Aaron and Josh are back to discuss it all and more on another fun episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
Aaron and Josh are back with a quick-hit Same Old Dolphins Show with the immediate reactions to the Dolphins' 27-21 WIN over the New York Jets on Monday night. They discuss how the win is a good thing, but how the lessons that we can learn from the game are minimal in the grand scheme of things considering just how hapless the Jets were from an operational standpoint. Of course, the debut of Darren Waller was a complete success, but the loss of Tyreek Hill looms large.

SODS - 376 - FTJ by The Same Old Dolphins Show
After an overall improved performance at Buffalo, the Dolphins still find themselves in a deep hole at 0-3. Tua Tagovailoa appears to be both physically diminished and regressing as a player. Mike McDaniel seems to be walking on thin ice. The situation is grim.
With that as the background, Aaron and Josh are opening up the mailbag for today's episode of THE SAME OLD DOLPHINS SHOW at DolphinsTalk.com!
The Miami Dolphins suffered another loss in Week 2, this time at home to the Patriots. While the offense showed some signs of bouncing back and the defense actually made a couple of stops, the same communication, playcalling, and coaching issues doomed the Dolphins' attempt to salvage the game late.
Four years into his tenure as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel's signature shortcomings have not gotten any better, which leads us to one simple truth: Mike McDaniel's time in Miami is nearing its end.

So who will you want with the 1st or 2nd overall pick if that happens cause they won't let Tua go fyi.
