Rolling into Week 5 in the NFL, the Texans kick off the season with a rough start following their first 4 games, standing 1-3. Turning things around quickly, they now enter the BYE Week standing at 2-3 following their recent two victories over the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens. Reviewing Sunday's game against Baltimore, the Texans appear to have played their first complete game of the season, as all aspects of the ball were surprisingly radiant. Taking a moment to evaluate the first few games the Texans have completed, Sean and Dan pose what could be the underlying issue with the Texans heading into the BYE Week with hopes of adjustments to be made coming out. Is it a mental block or the inability to execute effectively?
With Week 5 in the NFL set to conclude today following Monday Night Football tonight, the Texans roll into Baltimore with a bit of a chip on their shoulder against their AFC competitors. Favored to win and with the Ravens missing their starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson, the Texans do not disappoint, going on to shut out Baltimore with a final score of 44-10. Writing some history, Houston claims the organization's first victory at M&T Bank Stadium, having previously been 0-8 on the road until yesterday. Regarding C.J. Stroud's dominating performance and noting the absence of Lamar, Sean and Dan take a moment to evaluate yesterday's much-needed victory and what mentality the Texans should have going in and coming out of their BYE Week following this week's huge victory.
Standing at 1-3 now following their victory over the Titans last Sunday, the Texans now roll up to Baltimore, set to take on the Ravens in a Sunday noon kickoff. With both teams enduring some offensive struggles early in the start of the season, the Texans head on to Baltimore as the favorite ahead of Sunday's kickoff. Weighing the possibility of Ravens' starting quarterback Lamar Jackson possibly inactive for Sunday's game, Aaron shares a few gems the Texans must execute effectively in all aspects of the ball against their division rival if they intend to push on to 2-3 at a chance for better hopes of making the postseason.
Deciding whether or not to place a couple of wagers for this weekend's slate of games? MLB, NFL, CFB? Covering all the must-watch showdowns heading into the weekend, professional sports gambler Chuck Edel joins for his weekly segment with picks for everyone to hop in on. If you're hoping to make some extra cash over the weekend, now four weeks straight without a missed pick, listen to what picks Chuck has going into this jam-packed sports weekend.
With Week 4 of the NFL now in the books, the Houston Texans stand at 1-3 following their victory Sunday over Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans. Now heading into Week 5, the Texans face a critical opportunity to secure a win against the Baltimore Ravens, who may be without their star quarterback under center, Lamar Jackson. Surprisingly, standing at 1-3 to start the season, both teams desperately need Sunday's win over the other to boost their chances of making the playoffs before hopes are far-flung. Possibly not to suit up on Sunday in regards to a hamstring injury, Sean and Dan discuss how crucial it is for the Texans to try to pull out of Sunday with a victory over the Ravens, with the chance to combat their disappointing start to the season.
Anticipating the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, Houston wasted no time deepening its roster's depth this offseason, re-signing players and picking up additional prospects, all with the hopes of furthering their appearance in the postseason. With a turnaround year in not making the playoffs in 2024 to making the semi-finals last year, the Rockets look to be a big competitor coming out of the West. Taking a sharp turn just weeks before the initial start of the season, Houston Guard Fred VanVleet tears his ACL during practice, appearing to be out for the season. Revisiting the additions of 2x NBA Champion Kevin Durant and Clint Capela, and now with Houston's main guard possibly missing the season's entirety, should the Rockets be looking for another Guard to replace Fred?
As October begins and postseason baseball approaches, Houston has faced a challenging September in both the NFL and MLB. The Texans, led by C.J. Stroud, secured their first win by shutting out the Titans 26-0 yesterday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Astros concluded their season by winning their final series against the Angels 2-1, which marks the first time since 2016 that they will miss the postseason. Reflecting on the weekend, Sean and Dan discuss the Texans' shutout victory, while noting areas for improvement that still need attention on the offensive side. Looking ahead, they also provide a couple of suggestions for the Astros' upcoming 2026 season, including offseason adjustments necessary for the team to return to the postseason.
Coming into the season with some pretty high standards as we enter Week 4 of the NFL, the Houston Texans have yet to grasp a win for the season as they currently sit at the bottom of the AFC South Division, 0-3. Set to take on rookie quarterback Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans this Sunday in hopes of gaining their first win, lots of questions are raised about the Texans' season following their 0-3 start. Weighing out Sunday's odds between the two, and with the offensive production still a major issue at hand, many wonder if this team can muster up enough points to get Sunday's victory. Talking production and a few personnel adjustments around the team recently, Aaron Wilson shares a few things to take note of as we head into Sunday's kickoff.
As teams across both the American and National leagues clinch their playoff berths, the Astros are still in contention for a playoff spot, with time now racing against them, as only one final series remains in the season. Losing their last 5 games, the Stros slip out of first place as the Mariners go on to take the Division for the first time since 2001. Set to take on the Angels in their last series of the season and set to conclude their series against the Athletics this afternoon, the Astros must win 3 of their last 4 games, along with some help from a couple of other teams, to have a chance at making the Wild Card round. With playoff spots filling left and right, Astros GM Dana Brown weighs in, a bit optimistic for the Astros and their 2025 season.
Still trying to buy themselves a playoff spot with 5 games left of the season to go, the Astros' decade reign over the postseason appears to slowly diminish as they drop Game 1 of their opener last night against the Athletics with a final score of 5-1. Having entered this crucial stage of the season now and comparing a few identical events to last season's early drop-off in the postseason, many would argue the Astros have entered a decline in the recent 2 seasons. Not liable to pull out of must-win situations similar to last night's game and still unable to put up runs with runners in scoring position, Dan and Ari evaluate last night's loss and where this now puts the organization moving forward, posing the question of what the future could begin to look like.
