Join me as we travel south, both back in time and away from the cultures of the West. If you feel like imagining yourself on a magic carpet, with the night-time stars shining above and only the flickers of oil-lit lamps below; be my guest. In the ancient city of Marrakech, a killer is on the loose. He murders young girls and women, both for pleasure and for monetary gain. At least 36 times he manages to escape justice. This is the tale of none other than the Arch-Murderer of Marrakech; Hadj Mohammed Mesfewi.Become a Patron today: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWebsite: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. When Nannie's father dies of natural causes, her mother Louise moved in with Nannie. It does not take long before Louise also got great stomach pains and died in a mysterious way. No one suspected that good, kind Nannie has anything to do with all the deaths around her. But, soon later, it was revealed that...Become a Patron today: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWebsite: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. This show aims to cover the entirety of the phenomenon of serial murder and one aspect of this that I have not touched upon before is that of ancient serial killers. Joining me to discuss this fascinating topic tonight is none other than Dr Garrett Ryan, host of the excellent YouTube channel and podcast Toldinstone.Become a Patron today: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWebsite: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. If you are like me and peruse the world wide web for true crime regularly, photos of crime scenes are a staple of true crime. Especially fascinating is of course photos of victims taken by serial killers themselves. The latter is somewhat rare, but there are quite a few of them available. Three photos stand out that are relevant to tonight’s dark tale: one features a gorgeous brunette sitting in a fashionable short dress outside in the sunlight. Her mouth is gagged and her hands are bound behind her back. She has a terrified expression on her face...Become a Patron today: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWebsite: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. On the night of the 21st to the 22nd of April, 1992, Golovkin saw a boy, stocky, about sixteen years old. According to Golovkin, at first, he did not want to kill him: there was no desire, apparently he did not fit in terms of his usual parameters. He offered the boy a ride, and he accepted. After driving a short distance, the boy suddenly told Golovkin to stop and took out a knife...Become a Patron today: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWebsite: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. We continue on this Russian serial killer’s infernal downward spiral of depravity and evil. In less than a month after the discovery of the gutted boy, not far from the Odintsovo village of Zarechye, in the Meshcherskoye recreation area, detectives found the corpse of another brutally murdered sixteen-year-old boy….Become a Patron today: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWebsite: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. Fair warning: this exposé takes us into the absolute depths of depravity and evil. So if you are sensitive to graphic descriptions of sexual murder, this might not be your cup of tea. Our man of the hour is none other than Sergei Alexandrovich Golovkin. He tortured, raped and murdered at least 15 young boys before being stopped. And this is his saga. Children being attacked is the most heinous crime of all. And the Missoula Mauler did shy away from such activities, as we witnessed in the latest episode of this exposé. Imagine if you will, dear listener, a swelteringly hot crawlspace. It’s located at Conlin’s, high between the warehouse and sales floor. You are crouched next to Wayne Nance. He is sweating, but not just from the temperature. He is also masturbating. Through slits in the ceiling, you both have a direct view of the ladies’ bathroom at Conlin’s.Become a Patron today: https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWeb: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. We travel as we did earlier back in time in this episode; which is part 2 in the Missoula Mauler series. The era is the Golden Age of Serial Murder, the 1970s and 80s. Last time, we ended up in Doug and Kris’ bedroom after Doug had courageously managed to defend against and ultimately kill Wayne Nance. In order to see what transpired before this dramatic ultimate fate of The Missoula Mauler, I am going to show you who Wayne Nance was and his life and crimes in the 1970s and -80s.Become a Patron today at https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWeb: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/serialkillerpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. Wayne Nance murdered at least 6 innocent human beings and might very well have killed far more that we do not know about. The year is 1986, the date, the 3rd of September. We crouch down behind some bushes as none other than the Missoula Mauler lurks, ready to engage in his favourite pastime; murder. After Petiot managed to incapacitate his unsuspecting victims, he would shackle them to the wall in his triangular room. There, he could torture them at will, sometimes perhaps for fun, other times in order to get something he wanted from the victim. After spending a great deal of time interviewing people who were at best peripherally connected to the case, the police thought they had given Dr Petiot enough of a head start and decided to seek him out at him home.Become a Patron today at https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWeb: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: @serialkillerpodTwitter: @serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. The second stove, on the left was cold, but the smaller one, to the right, was roaring with intense fire. A human hand, slender and by all appearances female, dangled from the open door; flames licking it like tattered fabric. As they turned from the light of the fire the three officers discerned a pile of coal and the bottom steps of the staircase they had walked down had something lying on its bottom steps. As they looked closer, they saw the steps were littered by a decapitated head, several skulls, decapitated arms, two nearly complete skeletons, shattered rib cages, sawn off feet, hands, jawbones, large chunks of unrecognizable flesh, and a quantity of small bones.Become a Patron today at https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWeb: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: @serialkillerpodTwitter: @serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. At 8:00 P.M. on the 11th of March, 1930 an incident erupted that was to trouble Villeneuve for many years. Armand Debauve, the director of the local dairy cooperative, returned home that evening to find his house on fire. He raised an alarm and smashed into the kitchen, where he stumbled over the body of his wife Henriette.Become a Patron today at https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWeb: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: @serialkillerpodTwitter: @serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. A serial killer case that, had it occurred in peace-time during war, it would probably be just as famous as that of Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer. I am, of course, talking about none other than the real life Dr Hannibal Lecter who viciously murdered at least 27 innocent men and women before he was stopped. This is his saga. There were no known witnesses, although Mrs Pahud’s body was found within minutes by a passing schoolgirl who at first thought that it was a bundle of clothing dumped in the laneway. As the police and ambulance sirens wailed their way to the murder scene, Glover examined the contents of Mrs Pahud’s purse on the grounds of a nearby golf club where he pocketed $300 and hid the bag in a drain. He then went to the Club where he drank and gambled with Margaret Pahud’s money.Become a Patron today at https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWeb: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: @serialkillerpodTwitter: @serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. Each time Glover committed serial murder, he ruthlessly bashed his victims to death with a hammer in public places in broad daylight and then throttled the last breath out of them with their own undergarments. The killings were unmistakably the work of the one person. John Glover was “The Granny Killer”, “The Monster of Mosman”, a vicious and calculating serial killer who deep-etched a macabre niche for himself into the history of Australia’s most despicable murderers.Become a Patron today at https://www.patreon.com/theserialkillerpodcastWeb: https://www.theserialkillerpodcast.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theskpodcastInstagram: @serialkillerpodTwitter: @serialkillerpodSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-serial-killer-podcast. Like many pods, this one starts out a bit challenging. The quality of the research kept me listening and I'm so glad I did. I hope you never compromise, Gracious Host, and keep taking the time it takes to tell the story properly. These are real people, complicated people like everyone, and the many factors that go into the creation of these monsters cannot be summarized if they are to be truly understood. I think this is my favorite true crime pod! Thank you for putting this out in the world!

Six Episodes dealing with Russell Williams (who, technically, isn't even a serial killer...) yet only one episode for all the cruel murders that Joachim Kroll committed? Same goes for Erszébet Báthory (eight episodes for the notorious noblewoman who allegedly killed hundreds of young peasant girls, yet neither of them could be identified and further information has either been lost over the centuries or is merely hearsay) in comparison with Israel Keyes, BTK or Jeffrey Dahmer.

Is it odd that I find these perfect to fall asleep to? Good stories on a wide variety of killers, delivered in a measured warm cadence. I definitely prefer this style to the more dramatized / overly enthusiastic ( looking at you, Parcast).
