Take What I Give You' isn’t just a song; it’s a statement. Junior Simba explains: “Take what I give is what it says in the name. Each time I have thought about what I want the track to mean, I always land back on the idea of being enough as you are—self-acceptance—and through that, being able to share your gifts, art, and moments with those you love, and the world. It rounds off a series of self-love releases—music that feels like taking time out and re-centering—musical therapy. It's a nod to kindness, love, and all the softer things we need. LA based producer and DJ Choopsie returns to Silver Bear on blistering form with her dreamy new Reflections EP. The release marks a departure of the sounds Choopsie has become accustomed to. Inspired by a year away from her native LA and residing across Europe, the EP is a culmination of sounds absorbed along the way; “This EP reflects a transitional moment for me. Returning to LA after nearly a year in Europe, I felt inspired by the new sounds I encountered. Slumberjunkie - Don't Pretend This Isn't Life: https://orcd.co/dontpretendthisisntlife Slumberjunkie returns to Silver Bear Recordings with a new high energy single 'Don't Pretend This Isn't Life'. Inspired by his love for N64 games and an attempt to recapture the nostalgic and haunting feel of the games he used to play. The fierce synth line drives the track alongside energetic breaks, before an ethereal vocal takes it up to the heavens. Since he released his first EP on the label in July, recent support has come from the likes of Gilles Peterson on BBC 6 Music, Bandcamp’s New & Notable section and Ransom Note which features a fast & furious DJ mix and interview. Slumberjunkie says "Don’t Pretend This Isn’t Life is ultimately about ignoring your reality because when you try and engage with it it doesn’t make sense, and I think I was trying to capture all of the bleak connotations that come with doing this. The frenetic verses and that weird trumpet section representing skittishness and a lack of grounding. I want to put people in a fully formed space that’s both reminiscent of things and places they might have experienced whilst also not actually having any tangible, solid link to anything real. Like a half forgotten dream. I made the demo for this track really quickly (as I kind of do with all of my stuff) cause I think I was just so buzzed at making that synth sound and the lead line I felt like if I moved quick enough it would all fall into place. The vocal was one of the last things to come in which was pretty incredible cause it articulated everything I was feeling but not explicitly saying about the track."

In his guest mix Tom VR showcases his signature blend of skippy beats and atmospheric pads. Opening the show, hosts Wayward offer up music from JD Senuti, Hammer, Call Super and Lo Shea.

The Silver Bear Show rolls into Autumn with a mix of melancholic house from this months guest, Helter. As usual Wayward open the show with music from Harrison BDP, Kerri Chandler and Blakkat.

The Silver Bear Show has made it to double figures and to celebrate we've invited one of the UK's most promising talents, Kristy Harper. Music from Herbert, Nathan Micay & Youandewan.

Friend and collaborator X.O.A dropped in on us this month for a guest mix and chat about his inspirations and recent travels to Africa. Music from Klone, Marenn Sukie, Hiver and Four Tet.
