Description

The Simple Truth, hosted by Jim Havens, airs each weekday from 4-5PM(EST) on The Station of the Cross Media Network. The focus of the show is authentically receiving, living, and transmitting the simple Truth of Jesus and His Catholic Church. We're in challenging times, but we are made to rise up and meet the challenges before us with Christ. We'll be proclaiming all that is good, true, and beautiful, applying it to real life, and we won't shy away from the difficult topics, especially lifting up the truth in those areas where it is most unpopular, and therefore most needed. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "The disciple of Christ consents to 'live in the truth,' that is, in the simplicity of a life in conformity with the Lord's example, abiding in his truth. "If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth." Join us live on the radio, on YouTube, Facebook, or listen to the podcast!

10/31/25 - Tomorrow, men from across America will gather in Boston, Massachusetts, for the National Men's March to Abolish Abortion—and this is your final call to stand up for life. Join Jim Havens and Father Stephen Imbarrato, co-founders of the Men's March, as they deliver one last powerful invitation for men of faith and courage to take their rightful place in the public square, defend the unborn, and lead their families and communities in truth. Hear what to expect at tomorrow's march, why this moment matters more than ever, and how your presence can make a real impact in the fight to end abortion once and for all.
10/30/25 - Jim Havens sits down with pro-life powerhouse Pam Stenzel to preview this weekend's National Men's March to Abolish Abortion and Rally for Personhood, a bold public witness calling men of faith to rise up and lead in the defense of life. Pam shares how this movement is awakening Catholic and Christian men across the nation to take responsibility, speak truth, and stand for the dignity of every human person from conception to natural death. From the streets to the steps of the rally, this conversation exposes what's really at stake in today's battle for life, and how courage, repentance, and authentic manhood are key to ending abortion in America.
10/29/25 - Servant of God Frank Duff (1889–1980) was an Irish layman whose deep love for the Blessed Virgin Mary led to the founding of the Legion of Mary in Dublin in 1921. Rooted in the spirituality of St. Louis de Montfort, Duff encouraged ordinary Catholics to become apostles through prayer, humility, and personal outreach. His vision transformed lay involvement in the Church, inspiring millions across the world to serve Christ through Mary. Duff worked tirelessly among Dublin's poor, homeless, and marginalized, seeing in each person the image of God. His collaborators, Venerable Edel Quinn and Servant of God Alfie Lambe, carried the Legion's mission to Africa and Latin America, helping it spread to nearly every corner of the globe. Frank Duff later attended the Second Vatican Council as an observer, where his vision for the laity was affirmed by Church leaders. His cause for canonization continues, honoring a man whose quiet faith reshaped the modern Catholic apostolate.
10/28/25 - Join us for a powerful and timely conversation with Bishop Joseph Strickland as he addresses the Catholic Church's moral duty to speak clearly and forcefully against abortion. Drawing from his recent pastoral letter, "Before I Formed You in the Womb, I Knew You," Bishop Strickland responds to Pope Leo XIV's recent remarks and the controversy surrounding Cardinal Cupich's decision to honor Senator Dick Durbin despite Durbin's well-known support for Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion entities. Bishop Strickland underscores why abortion remains the preeminent moral issue of our time and why silence or ambiguity from Church leaders endangers both souls and society. With conviction and pastoral charity, he calls all Catholics to stand firm in truth, hold leaders accountable, and courageously witness to the Gospel of Life in a culture increasingly hostile to it.
10/27/25 - We're joined by Allan Parker Jr., President of The Justice Foundation, as he shares the history, mission, and spiritual conviction behind one of America's most influential pro-life legal ministries. Founded in 1993, The Justice Foundation provides free legal representation to protect life, faith, and family while defending the constitutional and moral foundations of our nation. Parker, who served as lead counsel for Norma McCorvey ("Roe" of Roe v. Wade) and Sandra Cano ("Doe" of Doe v. Bolton), discusses his efforts to overturn the rulings that legalized abortion on demand, and how those cases shaped the pro-life movement for generations. The conversation explores the Foundation's ministries, including Operation Outcry, which gathers testimonies from women hurt by abortion to influence courts and legislatures; The Moral Outcry, a national petition campaign to awaken America's conscience; and the Center Against Forced Abortion (CAFA), which equips and defends mothers pressured into abortions, saving an estimated 1,000–2,000 babies each year. Parker also reflects on his background as a law professor and human rights advocate, and how The Justice Foundation's work unites faith, law, and culture in the pursuit of justice and truth. 10/24/25 - Jim and Father Imbarrato faithfully unpack remarks made by Tucker Carlson at a Turning Point USA campus event at Indiana University, in which he characterized abortion as "murder… the same ritual that every civilization ever studied has engaged in… human sacrifice," and asserted that "the only thing that matters is having children" in contrast to pursuing career ambitions. We'll examine how his sharp language, inviting students to watch an abortion video, calling termination "the most crazed level of fanaticism I've ever seen," and challenging the "my body, my choice" rationale, intersects with Catholic teaching on the dignity of human life. Could blunt but honest remarks such as these be the answer to a culture increasingly desensitized to violence of all kinds?
10/23/25 - Catholic filmmaker Royce Hood shares the extraordinary story behind Incorruptible: The Life and Faith of Sister Wilhelmina, a new Catholic film that explores the miraculous discovery and profound holiness of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, foundress of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. When her body was discovered remarkably preserved four years after her death in 2019, the world turned its attention to the quiet Missouri abbey she founded, but this film reveals that the true miracle began long before then in a lifetime of joy, humility, and fidelity to the traditional religious life. Born in 1924 in St. Louis, Sister Wilhelmina's deep love for Jesus and devotion to the Blessed Mother led her to found a flourishing community dedicated to prayer and sacred song. Incorruptible traces her journey from a young Catholic girl hearing Christ's invitation, "Will you be Mine?", to becoming a spiritual mother whose witness continues to draw souls back to faith. Royce Hood discusses how the project began, what makes Sister Wilhelmina's story so timely, and how this film aims to honor her legacy and inspire a renewal of faith around the world. 10/22/25 - John Bradburne's journey from England to the heart of Africa is a story unlike any other. A decorated World War II veteran and Oxford-educated poet, he spent years wandering through Europe and the Holy Land in search of God's will. His path ultimately led him to Zimbabwe, where he devoted himself to caring for men and women with Hansen's disease at the Mutemwa Leprosy Settlement. Living in a tin hut with a rosary in hand and the Eucharist at the center of his life, John restored dignity to those society had abandoned. When he refused to abandon the lepers during the Rhodesian Bush War, he was kidnapped and killed in 1979, dying as he had lived in fidelity to Christ. Today, with thousands of documented favors through his intercession, John Bradburne's cause for canonization is advancing, and he is remembered as a modern pilgrim-poet and martyr of charity.
10/21/25 - Dr. Joseph Meaney has spent his life defending the sanctity of life on every continent, from Vatican halls to remote mission fields. In this powerful personal testimony, the internationally respected bioethicist and pro-life leader shares the journey that led him from studying history and Latin American culture to earning a PhD in bioethics in Rome, where he explored the moral challenges of conscience and health care. With over 25 years of pro-life missions in 81 countries, Dr. Meaney reflects on the moments that deepened his faith, shaped his worldview, and solidified his conviction that the Gospel of Life must be lived and proclaimed in every culture. This is the inspiring story of a Catholic scholar who chose to use his intellect and his heart to serve God and defend human dignity across the globe.
10/17/25 - Virginia's governor's race has become one of the most consequential political battles in the country, not just for partisan control, but for the future of pro-life protections in the Commonwealth. At the heart of the race is a stark contrast between candidates who promise to increase abortion access up to birth and those who have pledged to defend the unborn with concrete legislative action. We go beyond soundbites to examine the real policies at stake: late-term abortion legislation, taxpayer funding for abortion providers, parental consent laws, and conscience protections for medical professionals. We'll unpack how this race could either strengthen Virginia's emerging pro-life momentum or cement its reputation as a haven for abortion extremism. Drawing from Catholic social teaching and the witness of the faithful, we'll look at what faithful citizenship demands in moments like these, why this particular race is being watched nationwide, and how Catholics can engage not just with a vote, but with prayer, public witness, and courage. This isn't just another election; it's a defining moment for life in Virginia.
10/16/25 - Journey with us to the historic Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville, New York, a sacred site where the blood of the North American Martyrs, including St. Isaac Jogues, St. René Goupil, and St. Jean de Lalande, consecrated the land to Christ. With the help of Bill Baaki, a member of the Shrine's Board of Directors, we'll explore the remarkable history of this holy place, its connection to early missionary work in North America, and its role in the conversion of St. Kateri Tekakwitha. This weekend, the shrine will host a powerful event featuring the exposition of sacred relics and a 7-mile Eucharistic procession that invites the faithful to deepen their devotion and bear public witness to the Real Presence. Whether you're a local pilgrim or discovering this shrine for the first time, today's show will inspire you to encounter Christ in a place where faith was tested, proven, and forever remembered.
