The King is Watching Review, Gears of War Reloaded Impressions & Xbox Game Pass Price Hike – Is It Still Worth It?Description:In this episode of The Single Player Experience, Sebastion dives into two very different single-player experiences: the roguelite strategy gem The King is Watching and the remastered classic Gears of War Reloaded. Then, in the Top of the Show, we break down Microsoft’s latest Xbox Game Pass price hike — Ultimate is jumping to $30 a month. Is it still worth $360 a year? Or is it time for gamers to rethink subscriptions? Tune in for reviews, impressions, and some honest gamer talk.In each episode, we dive into the best narrative-driven adventures, hidden indie gems, and backlog battles that every gamer can relate to.✨ Join our Discord community for game discussions & backlog support → https://discord.gg/YeCwD6gtDv 🎧 Listen to full episodes of the podcast here → https://open.spotify.com/show/1OBh5lXcbSKI3VCTb2qaPOWatch Full Episodes of the Podcast On Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrruLWSRKIMHwhxIEV3z9lg/ 📌 Follow for more gaming breakdowns, reviews, and backlog confessions.#SinglePlayerGames #GamingPodcast #BacklogChallenge #GameReview #GamerLife #PCGames #PS5Games #Xboxgames #Switchgames #videogames #podcast #gamingMicrosoft has officially raised the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to $29.99 a month — that’s $360 a year. Along with the price hike, Microsoft announced some new perks: Ubisoft Plus Classics, Fortnite Crew (with 1,000 V-Bucks and the monthly Battle Pass), more PC games in every tier, and a commitment to 75 day-one releases a year instead of 50.On paper, that sounds like a lot of value. But here’s the catch: many of these perks aren’t new. EA Play was already part of Game Pass. Several Ubisoft titles were already available in the library. And for players who don’t care about Fortnite — myself included — the $10 price hike feels like paying extra for something we’ll never use.So the question becomes: is Game Pass still worth it?For years, Game Pass has been one of the best values in gaming, letting players try new indie games, blockbuster day-one launches, and classics without breaking the bank. But $30 a month puts it in Netflix territory, and streaming services have already shown us how unsustainable that can feel.If you’re the kind of player who jumps into new games every month, maybe it’s still worth it. But if you only play a handful of games a year, you might be better served by downgrading to the Premium or Essential tiers — or even going back to buying games individually. For the first time in years, Xbox gamers are asking themselves: do I need Game Pass at this cost? What do you think — will you stick with Ultimate, downgrade, or drop Game Pass altogether?
