#511 – The Gift of Grief

How do you navigate the holidays when grief is a close companion? If you’ve experienced a significant loss, then you know what it’s like for the holiday season to feel more like a sorrowful time of year than a wonderful one.   My mother passed away in December 2019. This last month of the [...]

#508 – You Can’t Carry it All

Have you ever felt like you were spinning out of control? Sometimes, anxiety can make you feel as though you can’t slow down no matter how hard you try. But that feeling isn’t always rooted in reality; it’s often rooted in your perception of reality. Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely times [...]

#507 – Dr. Sarita Lyons – Take Off Your Cape

Are you tired of putting on your superwoman cape for everyone and everything?  As a woman, I can certainly identify with feeling overrun and overworked. And specifically, as a Black woman, the pressure to constantly be strong can feel downright debilitating. Now, this experience isn’t a new phenomenon for the women in my [...]

#505 – Oneka McClellan – Becoming a Woman of Royalty

Do you know that as a daughter of the King, you are royalty? Yes, you!  I know it’s easy to forget this truth in the hustle and bustle of daily life, but it’s one we need to hold onto.  Let’s be real. Life can be rough.  Along the way, many of us balance [...]

#504 – It’s Time to Dream Again

When was the last time you allowed yourself to dream? I know that life can cause you to silence the desires of your heart. Sometimes, it takes the wisdom of someone who has gone before you to remind you to dream again. My “Aunt Jo” is that source of wisdom for me. She’s [...]

#502 – Let Go of Worry and Learn to Cast Your Cares

Sometimes, I look at the women in my life, and I can see it all in their eyes. The anxiety, the fear, and the worry are evident without them saying a word. We girls often carry the weight of the world on our shoulders and the worry that often comes with it. No [...]

#501 – Nona Jones – Overcoming Rejection

Have the wounds of rejection caused you to believe you’re not enough? Maybe rejection has left you feeling that you will never be enough. Never enough for your family to accept you. #498 – Becoming a Woman of Wisdom

#495 – Amber O’Neal Johnston – Cultivate Confidence in Home Education

For many moms, the idea of homeschooling sounds nice, but it can feel too far out of reach. And I get it. Teaching kids at home without a supportive community and access to resources can appear to be a daunting task. But it doesn’t have to be.  Sometimes, you just need to hear [...]

Loved this podcast! I could totally relate to Talisha in that real or imagined disappointment causes me to back away from planning events. We have a tradition of allowing the kids to open gifts then take individual family photos. It's so hard watching them open gifts because they've bought for their kids and although I enjoy their reactions, there is usually a hint of sadness that grips me because I don't have kids of my own. Once it's time for family photos, I disappear because I don't particularly care to take the photo alone. So I may have to figure out a way to incorporate my nieces and nephews or my siblings in my photo. One thing I do enjoy is planning the holiday menu and cooking for my family/close friends. Anyways... thanks for sharing ladies! Enjoy your holidays!

Loved this! It was as if you were reading my mind when you mentioned speaking to singles who are waiting to make a house their home. I didn't want to buy a home until I got married; something that I saw my husband and I doing together. But I think that I will strongly consider the purchase for myself and allow God to work out the rest.
