Morgan Weistling is one of the best living painters around (in my opinion). He started his career doing movie posters, and then transitioned full time into western fine art. He displays work at some of the most prestigious galleries around the U.S. and sells paintings for upwards of $100,000 and more.
In this episode we talk about his career, and how he managed to build the confidence to try to be creative for a living.
Sir Richard Taylor is most well known for co-founding Wētā Workshop with his wife Tania Taylor. He has won dozens of awards, and has worked on some of the biggest film, TV and game projects.
In this episode we talk about what he feels the most important attributes are for having a creative career, the difficulties associated with taking risks, and practical advice for anyone wanting to do it for a living.

Ben Eblen is a software developer turned artist. He transitioned from programming as a day job to making a full time living as an artist and art teacher. He spent most of his 20's working in tech doing art on the side and building an instagram following. Over two years, Ben's following rocketed to 200k+ on instagram using a lot of the same strategies he was learning working in tech to building an audience. Things like using time on post as a marker for the instagram algorithm, and capitalizing on that by making his images of lost of text on them so people stay and read and as a result boosting the "engagement" on the backend of instagram.

At Wētā Workshop in New Zealand, I talked with Greg Broadmore, a concept artist for District 9 and Avatar. Greg stressed beating self-doubt and finding a drawing rhythm. He shared how his graphic novel blends structure and intuition, sometimes using alcohol to beat creative blocks. Greg emphasized the importance of authenticity over commercial success, urging artists to embrace their unique style and dive into projects, underscoring the wonder of creating art.

Bryce is an artist who makes most of his living off selling prints of his artwork at conventions. He started his career in film, working on sets for things like reality TV and commercials. While doing that he was drawing in his free time. Over the years he built up the skills to draw to the point where he was able to start selling his work.
