Donald Trump is a fascist, and every day he’s engaging in acts of fascism. And you know what? The American people, more and more, are paying attention. And the American people, more and more, don’t approve of what Trump is doing. Don’t like fascism. And people are speaking out and spreading the word. We gotta keep it up. Hosted on Acast. Another fascinating, challenging conversation with Ilana Redstone, author of “The Certainty Trap,” on what it’s gonna take for us to reasonably work thru & overcome the heated & divisive hand to hand political battles we’re bombarded with today. Are we up for the challenge? The jury is out. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I sat down with Richie Logis, Founder of Leaving MAGA, a support group for folks looking to walk away from publicly supporting Trump. It’s a topic I know all too well. How to best engage with our MAGA friends and family members? Is it possible to help folks see the light? Interesting conversation Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
All government powers in this country are limited by the Constitution. The Constitution is our framework. Well right now, the Constitution doesn’t even matter. We have a president who is raising taxes because his feelings are hurt, nobody stops him, even though the Constitution makes clear he has no power over tariffs. None. But he does it anyway. Should the President of the United States provide disaster relief to states based on their politics? On whether it’s a blue or a red state? Crazy question, right? But that’s what Trump is currently doing. Providing federal disaster relief to states that voted for him and denying relief to states that didn’t vote for him. MAGA, MAGA. Hosted on Acast. I sat down this week with Alisyn Camerota and Dave Briggs on their “Sanity Podcast” to discuss how life is for me as a four month old Democrat, what the No Kings protests mean, what the protests must lead to, and why basic human decency is gonna carry the day in 2026. Cool conversation. Have a listen. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
By Friday, the entire East Wing of the White House will be gone. Completely gone. Trump does not have the authority to be doing what he’s doing. Yet he’s doing it. It’s wrong. And it should be stopped. Is there not one Republican in Washington, DC with the courage to say something? Is there not one? Not one willing to risk their political career by doing the right thing? Not one? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
So Donald Trump is demanding the federal government pay him $230 million for all the trouble he went thru defending himself against various prosecutions. Yes, it’s u heard of. And yes, it would be one of the greatest acts of public corruption, but can you really blame Trump for thinking he should demand all that money? I mean, his enablers have taught Trump for years that he can get away with anything, that he will never be held accountable for anything bad or corrupt he does Hosted on Acast. I looked at those images yesterday of the demolition of the White House and I got the same pit in my stomach I got when I watched on TV the attack on the Capitol on January 6th. It felt like a desecration. It was personal. The White House isn’t his. It’s ours. And he’s destroying it on his own because his enablers are allowing him to. Makes me so sad. Hosted on Acast. Over 7 million Americans came out and rallied on No Kings Day this past Saturday. And there were no arrests. And no violence. Republicans had been building up the potential violence calling the rally goers “Antifa” and “terrorists.” But because the day was entirely peaceful, the day after, Republicans were forced to sing a much different tune. I sat down with Mike Madrid, long time political strategist, to discuss where we’re at politically right now, what the data really says about both Trump and the Democrats, and what Democrats need to do to be successful in 2026 and beyond. Informative conversation. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Republicans keep calling it a “hate America” rally. Bullshit. They say that because they’re partisan. They say that because they’re scared of this No Kings movement. To reaffirm that founding American principle that we are not ruled by kings here is to reaffirm absolute LOVE for America. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I sat down with Mike Brock, my go to observer and moral truthsayer for these unprecedented political times in which we are living. And yes, there is plenty to be afraid of. There’s a fascist in the White House and a long line of fascist capitulators bending the knee to him. But our fear must not paralyze us. That’s what all tyrants want. Our fear must motivate us to act. To resist. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
A historic ceasefire in the Middle East yesterday, and Trump uses the occasion to lie, to hurl personal insults at his predecessors, and to make the whole day about himself. Joe Biden, on the other hand, congratulated Trump and put the focus on Israel and the Palestinian people. Biden did what real men do. Trump did what cowards do. Hosted on Acast. This upcoming Saturday, October 18th, is expected to be the largest peacetime protest in American history. Millions & Millions & millions & millions of Americans taking to the streets to organically reaffirm that basic American principle that we don’t have Kings here. Yet the Trump administration is calling No Kings “Antifa.” And a “terrorist” movement. And just a George Soros “hate America” thing. Why are they saying all this? Because they’re scared. Joe, that was TREMENDOUS. Thank you,
How does this pathetic, delusional, intellectually dishonest, bag of garbage still have an audience?
John's loud-mouthed belligerence is designed to disguise the weakness of his positions. I would never be able to keep this kind of conversation going.
I loathed you in 2015. now I feel like you're on my side. Putin drones and missiles Ukraine in Winter to hurt them the most
Cave in Rock? awesome
seems like
Joe it things like thongs fuck up every day. I want back my country. teach me how to fight. I will fight. I love Iowa. Illinois. Wisconsin. I love the midwest!!!
Thanks for -how rare!- a respectful and meaningful discussion on Israel/Palestine. David tackles very difficult questions in an astute and fair way.
Yes!
So racism is wrong, but racist trolling is fine. And condemning anything at all is just virtue signalling, except condemning a defensive war. Exasperating, just listening to all this. I admire Joe's stamina, doggedly driving this conversation.
Matthew Dowd, not Michael Dowd
Spot on. Thank you for speaking the truth and choosing country over party.
Let's wait until all the facts come out at trial...
They're a disgrace.
I started listening but couldn't finish. All the same false equivalence, red herring and other bad faith debate from a "repeat the tired lines, R no matter what" asshat
ughhhhh..... Richard thinks trump is a fit candidate?! Even AFTER leading an insurrection?! Sorry, but this is NOT the other side I was expecting.
I thought it kind of funny - Derek spent equivalent amounts of time obsessing about Bill Kristol to the time he spent objecting to folks obsessing about Trump!
