The Social Holiday Hour

It's a new year which means new goals that I set for myself. In additional to my updates on life, I share 6 tips that I'm going to do this year to continue to be a better ME.

I asked the question to my listeners.  Should you ever work for free?  I did and still do.  Here are my pros and cons to working for free.  What are your thoughts on working for free?  Is it worth it?

On this episode, Jarnard chatted with his mom, Patricia Warren, about motherhood and all the pros and cons to it. 

On this episode, we chat about Lara's new adventure to Oregon and how's she's transitioning from San Diego to Eugene.  They also chat about her future endeavors and reminisced about her time here in San Diego.  They also talked about the future of the podcast.  Jarnard talked about his new relationship and his plans for a couple of his passion projects.  We also covered the holidays coming up from Oct. 1 to 7th.  Holidays including National Vegeterian Day, Name Your Car Day, National Boyfriends Day, Do Something Nice Day, World Smile Day, Come and Take it Day and Oktoberfest.

On this episode, Jarnard chats with Marisa Cali, owner of All the Social and the host of her own podcast called Bicoastal Panda, about her journey in the marketing world and how she created her business.  She gives insights on her thoughts on being a woman in the marketing world and how networking and having a good work ethic is important. In addition, they discussed National Dog Day, Just Because Day, Global Forgiveness Day, More Herbs, Less Salt Day, National Eat Outdoors Day, Bacon Day and Labor Day.    

Jarnard's cousin, Khadesha aka Tootie, comes to visit him for her birthday.  She chats about her first hike experience here in San Diego and talked about her favorite moments of her trip.  They also went through the weekly holidays, sharing things that make them happy in observation of National Happiness Happens Day (Aug 8). 

On this episode, they chat about Lara winning two Emmy awards and her reactions towards winning. They also talked about Lara's experience hanging out with kids at LEGOLAND. Jarnard talks about Facebook stalking his biological dad and how he wants to connect with him. They also go through this week's holiday calendar.  In honor of Embrace Your Geekness Day, Jarnard decides to do a Friday the 13th marathon.

Jarnard's long-time friend Stef Rice visits The Social Holiday hour from Maryland to talk about 'Merica! From Poultry Day to Earth Day and Puppy Day, Lara and Jarnard go in depth on this week's holidays. Jarnard shares the time being a good samaritan went wrong and Lara shares her almost alien abduction situation.  They also talked about the dangers of credit cards and how to make a plan to pay off credit cards in honor of Credit Card Reduction Day (March 21).  With Goof Off Day on March 22, they talked about setting aside some time to be goofy. Things get negative and nasty (well, kind of) as Jarnard and Lara talk this week in holidays! January 24 is National Compliment Day.  This is a day to cherish compliments from people and to also compliment others.  On this episode, Jarnard and Lara talked about their favorite compliments, awkward compliments, how to compliment in a flirtatious manner, how to compliment in a professional setting and we complimented each other. 

Lara and Jarnard celebrate new year and another year of life! The Capricorns talk birthdays, how to not freak out when you turn 30, and how life doesn't really matter in your 20s (just kidding). They cap off 2017 by talking about what they accomplished and Lara gets all gung' ho about the new year and lists all the things she's definitely for sure going to do this year...yeah right.
