This could be the push you need to finally get brave, take your pen in hand and actually play! For this episode of the show I just felt the urge to jump on the mic and talk directly to you, the very nearly solo role-player. Take on the challenge that I have set and refer to the details at the bottom of the show notes. I also just talk a bit about what I have been playing, what I want to get to the table and some future ideas for the show. This is a Bonus! and won't take away from the SRPP schedule. I just wanted to check in and say gday. The Solo RolePlayers Challenge: Condition of Entry - You must have never successfully sat down and solo-role played a whole session. (you'll know it when you see it) Pick a game (small recommended but can be anything). Set everything up and just before you start, hit record on voice memo's or similar and then...: 1. Introduce yourself (real first name or screen name), say where you are and that you are taking on the solo role-players challenge 2 Briefly introduce the game you have chosen, perhaps why, and say how you are feeling. Nervous? Excited? Overwhelmed? 3. Stop recording and play a session. If you hit a wall push through. Fudge rules. Ret-con, whatever you need to do to keep going for 'a sessions' worth of time (again you'll know it when you see it) 4. Hit record again and briefly tell us about your experience. Easier/Harder than you thought? Things that tripped you up, worked well...how do you feel now? What's next? [Try and keep each section short and sweet, I am going for like 30 secs maybe? but no punishment for going over....you might just get edited] Wrap it up in your favourite audio format (whatever it comes out as is fine, I can make most things work) and email it to: soloroleplayerspodcast@gmail.com by Sat 21st Dec and I will see about putting everything together and releasing it as an episode for the new year. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out! Now go. Book in slot into your calendar and I'll hear from you soon. -PJ

Hello Solo RolePlayers! On todays episode I try something new and grab a book off my shelf, spend an hour familiarising myself with the basics and making a character and world setup....and then JUST PLAY. WhiteBox is an OSR (Old School Revival) RPG based on the original basic/advanced D&D (as far as I know...not an expert) I had a lot of fun both playing and making this episode and my goal for you the listener is to show you that you can just jump in and start playing without committing to learning all the rules first. This is something I plan to keep trying out with different games so if you enjoy this style of episode please reach and and let me know! soloroleplayerspodcast@gmail.com

Hello and welcome back to The Solo RolePlayers Podcast. I am thrilled and humbled today to bring you the creator of the very system that unlocked solo roleplaying for me personally. Tana talks about her discovery of rpg's as a child, the story of Mythic, how it was gradually created over the years and why it turned out to be the unique system it is today. She also talks a little about the upcoming 2nd edition of the Mythic Roleplaying game (Mythic Red) and what the new definitive edition is attempting to achieve. I had such a lovely chat with Tana and found it fascinating to hear the origin story of this system I didn't know I needed until I tried it. Enjoy! -PJ Links Mythic Game Master Emulator 2E Tana Pigeon on Patreon
Hello and welcome back to The Solo RolePlayers Podcast. Today I have a special experimental episode for you all featuring and off the cuff (mostly) unedited actual play of me myself and dragonbane. Please reach out and let me know what you think about this type of episode. I didn't know how it was going to go but I had a heap of fun playing in the end and am keen to play more. Join Hackelswell and Legoran as the unlikely pair set off on an unwritten adventure in the Misty Vale. You can reach me on soloroleplayerspodcast@gmail.com with feedback or find me (PJSack) lurking around the solo-rpg reddit thread. I hope you enjoy this (accidentally) double episode of DragonBane.
Today on The SoloRolePlayers podcast I got to have a chat with YouTuber Thomas from 'Board Games with Thomas' We talk about our experience getting started in solo roleplaying and the flexibility and creativity that solo roleplaying offers. But it's not long until we go down the Fallout rabbit-hole as we talk about the RPG, playing it with Mythic, and comparing the old and the new video games. Throw in a bit of StarForged, DragonBane and Forbidden Lands and you got yourself an episode there buddy. - PJ Links: Board Games With Thomas Thomas' Fallout playthrough The Lone Wanderer A Wasteland Story
Hello and welcome to this first episode of the Solo RolePlayers Podcast. I am delighted to launch this show with an interview [read: chat] with one of the first content creators in the solo rig space whom I came across and who indirectly helped me get started playing in this wonderfully unusual hobby. We talk about what it means to solo roleplay for us, some tips on how to get started, and a lot about the different ways the you can play and compare our personal, and very different, approaches. Man Alone also talks about some of his solo design projects. We talk a little about Dragonbane, Ironsworn and Fallout 2D20 and a lot about general solo roleplaying goodness. You can check out Man Alone's YouTube channel here, and his podcast here on the Man Alone Network. We also discuss Geek Gamers quintessential solo-rpg book Solo GameMasters Guide. If you want to get in touch with me (PJ) you can email me at soloroleplayerspodcast@gmail.com
