On a cloud waits a soul This soul has been patiently watching you They love you more than you'll ever know Even though you haven't met in a while This soul waits with anticipation Because they know you'll be reunited soon They want to teach you the things they know And they want to remember what it's like to love deeply They watch and wait until the time is just right Then they drop down into a new form This form is small and it forgets why it's excited But the soul inside knows something amazing is coming That soul knows your paths will intertwine at the right moment They know you'll be together soon They've known it all along When at last you meet, it feels like home Life happens fast and sometimes things get hard But the love between you deepens every day Until one day... all too soon... On a cloud waits a soul   This free- verse poem is something I wrote one day that inspired the name of this podcast, "The Souls Who Wait on Clouds"   I started writing to help me understand and heal from losing my soul dog, Jax.   I lost Jax the summer of 2023 in an unexpected and traumatic way.    One of the things that helped me the most was reading about and listening to others peoples stories. Even though others' stories were often heart wrenching and emotional- I started to realize that my grief and pain was not only valid, but it was normal.    I loved Jax so much, and the hole in my heart and soul was proof of how deep and true that love still is.    I started reaching out to people who had a story of their own to share, and then I started reaching out to experts in the field of animal care, bereavement and grief counseling. I interviewed these lovely individuals, all to help me understand my emotions, and help you with your own loss.    As I experienced my own journey with healing from my loss, I journaled, researched and started gathering tools to help me heal.    Everything I've learned from going through this experience is in my book, "The Souls Who Wait on Clouds", which will be available late 2024.    In the meantime, please follow me on Instagram @thesoulswhowaitonclouds for more content, updates on my book or to message me.    Please subscribe to this podcast to never miss an episode, and if you find it helpful, share and review.    I'm truly sorry for whatever loss you are feeling right now, and I hope this podcast brings you comfort and helps you start to heal.    Thank you for listening.    Chelsie
