Today we are joined by our buddy Travis Murray of Mississippi to talk about his approach to hunting some of the biggest deer the deep south has to offer! We travled to Travis' home in Mississippi to get a full tour of his trophy room and it is by far the most impressive collection of bucks from the deep south we have ever seen. Travis has killed dozens of bucks over the 130" mark, many of which were taken from the ground with traditional equipment.

Throughout his tenure he has been a part of many studies related to whitetail deer, including GPS collar studies across the southeast! - The decline of whitetail deer in the southern Appalachian mountains
- Why cutting timber means more deer
- Hunting pressure in the mountains vs low country
- how did deer react to heavy dog hunting pressure in one of Dr. D'Angelo's studies?

- How much pressure does it take for a deer to abandon their home range?
- How far does a deer run when it is spooked?
and a lot more! If you enjoy this episode, share it with a friend and let us know what questions you have for our next podcast on deer GPS studies!

Today, we are talking with Charlie Klassa, an extremely accomplished traditional bowhunter specializing in hunting big, mature bucks in flat lands and vast swamps! Over the years, Charlie figured out that mature bucks just use the landscape differently than all the other deer and began looking at things differently, allowing him to read the land and predict where mature bucks will travel as compared to all other deer. Subjects:
Hunting mature bucks is like hunting a different species of deer
Tracking bucks through swamps
Finding where bucks hangout in massive areas with an abundance of thick cover
Predicting where a buck will travel, even without trail cams
Are signpost rubs better than scrapes in flat lands?
and much more! If you enjoyed this episode, let us know! And share with a buddy.

absolutely the best podcast for the area I'm in. I can relate with different tactics from all their guests. I am very fortunate to have the job that I have in landscaping and can listen to them as I work. the only problem is it makes me want to leave the job and hit the woods. still working on my wall hanger. but have total faith it won't be long I look at the woods totally different. and try to implement woodsmanship every time I'm there. keep up the good work guys. thanks for all your advice and all the great questions you are asking these professional whitetail hunters.
Big fan of Josh and his vids
