It's the entirely performative nature of these 'wild' celebrity love stories' like MGK and Megan, Travis and Kourtney et al that bothers me - it seems far more important to them all to be 'seen' to be in the relationship, and seen to do and say all the weird and often pretty problematic things; rather than the actuality of the relationship itself being the important thing. Frankly I'm tired of it - it's as though they're all competing to outdo each other in the dark and twisted stakes, and I don't know why they keep being held up as some kind of romantic ideal for it!
