Description
There is so much confusion and controversy about the Holy Spirit. Who is He? What does He do? How does He do it? Let's set aside everything we have heard, and everything we think we know. Then let's see what the Spirit says about Himself in the Scriptures.

In this final episode about the Holy Spirit, I wanted to come back and give a brief summary and review of what the Holy Spirit says about Himself in the Scriptures. I'm hoping that this will be helpful in coming to a cohesive understanding of what the Bible has to say about the Spirit. You may want to go back and listen to an episode or two to dive deeper into one of the topics that are touched on in order to answer any questions and help pull it all together in your mind. As always, I welcome any questions, criticism, or correction.
In the final episode of our comprehensive study of the Holy Spirit, we look at the beginning of Romans eight and consider it together with parallel passages. These texts are the source of a good bit of confusion about the Holy Spirit. Join us as we see how they fit together, and how they fit in with everything else that the Spirit says about Himself in the written Word.
As we continue studying what the Spirit says about Himself and prayer, we dive into a rather difficult set of passages. The bulk of our time is spent this week in Romans chapter eight. Who is it that intercedes for us when we pray? How is this done? How does this relate to the Holy Spirit?
One topic concerning the Holy Spirit over which there is much confusion, but much less Scripture, is His relationship and involvement in our prayers. This week we begin exploring what the Spirit does or doesn't say about Himself in this regard. Join us as we learn more about what the Word says about the Spirit.
The concept of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the promise of the Holy Spirit are probably central to more confusion and disagreement concerning the Holy Spirit than every other topic combined. So what does HE have to say about it in the Scriptures? This week we explore every passage in the New Testament that speaks about these three things. In the process, we will see how they are related, who they are for, and what this means for us today.
This week we take a look at the passages of the New Testament that specifically talk about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. What do these passages mean? To whom do they apply? What does this mean for us today?
This week, we take a look at every Scripture that mentions the seal, earnest, or anointing of the Spirit. It's not as many as you might think, but it is certainly a challenging study in more ways than one. Be prepared to have your thinking challenged as we see what the Spirit says about Himself.
In the New Testament, there are a few passages where the Holy Spirit is seen working directly to influence the actions of people. This week we examine these episodes and see what the Spirit reveals about Himself and what that should teach us today.
This week we finish studying what the Holy Spirit says in the New Testament about the work that He did in giving miraculous abilities and gifts in the early church.
This week we continue our study of what the Holy Spirit says in the New Testament about the work that He did in giving miraculous abilities and gifts in the early church.
This week we begin studying what the Holy Spirit says in the New Testament about the work that He did in giving miraculous abilities and gifts in the early church.
This week we continue studying what the Holy Spirit says in the New Testament about His work to reveal God's will through Scripture.
This week we begin studying what the Holy Spirit says in the New Testament about His work to reveal God's will through Scripture.
This week we continue learning everything that the Holy Spirit says about how He worked through the apostles to reveal God's Will.
This week we continue learning everything that the Holy Spirit says about how He worked through the apostles to reveal God's Will.
It is no surprise to learn that a great deal of what we find in the New Testament about the Holy Spirit involves the Apostles. This week, we examine the promises concerning the Spirit that Jesus gave to His Apostles. Also, we are joined by a special surprise guest, Samuel Ramirez.
One of the works of the Holy Spirit that occupies the greatest amount of space in the New Testament is His role in revealing God's word. This week we are joined by a special guest as we examine what the New Testament says about the Holy Spirit revealing God's Word through the prophets.
The words of the Holy Spirit aren't written down for fun trivia. They are written down because we need to be paying attention to them and living them out! This week we examine passages in the New Testament that speak about the authority of the Spirit, and the fact that He can be lied to, quenched and resisted. How do you do those things? Or rather, how do you not do them? Join us as we look for answers to these questions.
This week we see the one time that the Holy Spirit physically manifested Himself, and we consider why it is so important to pay attention to the work of the Holy Spirit and give Him respect. Also, we will talk about the unpardonable sin.
This week, we study the Holy Spirit's involvement in the ministry of Jesus, and how that is significant for us and our salvation.
