In this episode, I share an autobiographical account of my recent trip to Cuba, weaving in sounds, music, and interviews. I used my Zoom H6 handheld recorder to document my experience. I was amazed by the natural beauty of Cuba, astonished by its poverty, and wooed by the spirit of its people. I hope sharing this story will create curiosity, but also shine a light on the plight of the people of this fascinating island. In this episode, I make a departure from my normal topics and open up about the reasons why I am no longer a Christian. This all came about when a family friend asked if he could interview me on my own podcast. I thought this was a fun idea, so I agreed, not knowing what we would talk about. Despite being such a personal topic, I think that it's important for people to be able to speak freely about their beliefs, especially for people who grew up in strong faith communities. I hope that this episode inspires more dialog about tradition, faith, and why we believe what we believe.
