Detroit is enjoying a stellar season, but they have more players on injury reserve than any other team in the league. Their loss to the Bills wasn't just bad because it was a loss. That game also resulted in even more injuries, putting Detroit is a very difficult place. There's plenty of negative buzz right now around the team because of these injuries, but it's not over. Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit joins Anne Erickson for a special episode of The Squad to talk about the team's schedule through the rest of the season and, if it comes to it, if the team can beat the Eagles in the NFC championship game. Of course, before then, they have a handful of difficult games, including their final regular season matchup against the very hot Minnesota Vikings. Listen now, and let's hope the team can get healthy in record time.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
It's the final stretch of the NFL regular season, and teams are starting to look ahead to the postseason. Detroit is in great shape at 11-1 going into their Week 14 matchup against Green Bay, but if you happen to be listening to this podcast after the game, that's okay, because we're talking about the entire rest of the NFL season. One thing that's really plagued Detroit is injuries. It seems like every time there's a new play, another guy gets injured. There's no denying that injuries are an issue for Detroit right now, but that's true for a lot of teams. Just look at San Francisco. They've been without quarterback Brock Purdy for a good portion of the season, and now, their biggest star, Christian McCaffrey, is out. So, it's not just us. Also, something really worth mentioning is that Detroit has still been able to pull off wins, even without the team's starters. There's something to be said for that kind of depth. So, will this be the big year that fans finally get to see Honolulu Blue at the Super Bowl? Should fans be booking their tickets to New Orleans for the Big Game? It's a real possibility, but we're not there yet. On this episode, host Anne Erickson is joined by guest Brad Berreman of SideLion Report to talk about all things NFL.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Detroit is looking stronger and stronger each week, and the team is gaining even more respect as the 2024 NFL season continues. It's so heartwarming to see all the love thrown at our guys and heard the positive things everyone from Tom Brady to eve the Packers' coach. This team, and this city, deservers it. For this podcast, I'm just briefly checking in to say hello and talk a little about the upcoming game against the Houston Texans. I'm a fan of Texans quarterback C. J. Stroud and head coach DeMeco Ryans and think this team is solid, but I really don't think they'll be able to match Detroit. The game is away, which could complicate things, but Detroit is never scared of a road game. We also just added Za'Darius Smith to beef up our defense. Okay, Arif Hasan is not the enemy. But, he's a reporter covering the Minnesota Vikings, so here in Detroit, he could be considered on the other side of the fence. But, they say to keep your friends close and your enemies closer, so chatting witha Vikings expert isn't a bad idea. All joking aside, Hasan always an interesting and deep look into what's going on in the world of the Minnesota Vikings. Detroit pulled off a win over Minnesota last weekend in a very close 31-29 victory. It was expected to be a close, exciting game, and it delivered in every way. The win came down to the final minutes, and it took me a while to even believe that Detroit had actually won after the clock finally ran down in the final quarter of the game. Hasan joins Anne Erickson on "The Squad" to talk about the Vikings' miraculous season, as they've only lost to Detroit so far, as well as the state of the NFC North and the rest of the NFL. They talk about the status of the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers and which teams could go all the way in the playoffs. It's been a wild few weeks for football fans in Detroit, as the Motor City's beloved team has been on a fantastic winning spree. But, there have also been some lowlights, such as one of our star players getting injured amid a big win last weekend. When all is said and done, right now, many in the NFL are actually saying that Detroit has the best team in the league. It's quite incredible to see these commentators and insiders who used to joke about the team now saying they're actually the No. 1 best in the country. It feels great. Jeff Risdon of USA Today joins host Anne Erickson on "The Squad" to talk about all of the recent developments in Detroit, from injuries to blowout victories, and what's ahead on the schedule. Next up, the team takes on the Vikings on the road on Sunday, October 20, which will be a big game, since the Vikings are undefeated right now. Then, the team goes up against the Titans on Sunday, October 27, at home, which Risdon says is by far the easiest game remaining on the 2024 schedule. The Packers are also up ahead, which is obviously a big rivalry, with a November 3 matchup in Green Bay. Listen to "The Squad with Anne Erickson" wherever you get your podcasts, and please subscribe. The Detroit Lions looked stellar on the road against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, September 22, and came out with a 20-13 victory. The week prior, the Lions fell in a surprise loss to the Buccaneers, so seeing the Lions back on their A-game in Arizona was certainly cause for celebration. Now, the Detroit Lions are hosting the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, September 30, for Monday Night Football. While the Seahawks are underdogs going into this matchup, the team is 3-0 for their season, while the Lions are 2-1. Plus, there's something about the Hawks that's helped them pull off consecutive wins over the Lions, no matter who's the better team. So, will the Lions be able to pull off one of their first victories over the Seattle Seahawks in years? Dating back to the 2003 season, the Seahawks have won nine of their last 10 games against the Detroit Lions. They've also won their last six games. So, it'll be a tall order. Even if the Lions are a better team, it doesn't seem to matter when they're up against the Hawks. I think this one could go either way, but if I had to make a prediction, I'd say the Lions will take it, 21-17. I don't see this as being a very high scoring game, because both teams have solid defenses. I almost didn't get this show up, because it just hurts too much. I'm still not over the Detroit Lions' loss to the San Francisco 49ers. We should have won that game. But, I'm so, so proud of our team. Our guys deserve the best! They played their hearts out! I give my thoughts on the game in this show, and basically, this show is a chance for us to hang out and dry each others' tears. Don't worry, Detroit Lions fans. The best is yet to come. Are you pinching yourself? Because I'm totally pinching myself. The Detroit Lions, a team I've loved since I was a little girl, is going to the NFL Championship game this weekend. They'll take on the 49ers in California. Now, the 49ers are favored, but that doesn't mean they'll win. Joe Chapp of the Detroit Lions News podcast joins Anne Erickson to talk about why he believes the Lions will upset the 49ers and head to the Super Bowl. They also talk about the AFC Championship between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens and much more. Did you get any sleep last night? Because, Detroit sure didn't sleep. We've waited decades for this moment. The Detroit Lions beat the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card playoffs on Sunday (Jan. 14). So, what does this massive playoff win really mean, and will the Lions win again next weekend? Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit joins Anne Erickson to talk about what is was like actually being at the playoff game, which was possibly the loudest ever, as well as the upcoming game and the Lions' chances of getting to the Super Bowl. Are the L.A. Rams an ideal matchup for the Detroit Lions in the playoffs, or should we be extra worried? Also, do the Detroit Lions actually have a real shot at going all the way to the Super Bowl this year? Karma is a b****, and here's hoping the Detroit Lions get a rematch against the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs, because that 2-point conversion, reporting thing was...okay, let's just move forward. There's lots to be positive about when it comes to the Detroit Lions. We're NFC North champs. We're in the playoffs. Now, our final regular game of the season is up ahead against the Vikings. So, beyond the Vikings? Who are Detroit's ideal matchups in the playoffs? Arif Hasan joins me, Anne Erickson, to talk about the NFL playoff picture, whether Kirk Cousins will be back with the Vikings next season and much more. Get on "The Squad!" I need another drink after Sunday's Detroit Lions loss against the Chicago Bears. But, things go up and down in the NFL, and the Lions aren't the only successful team struggling right now. Look at the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. They're not playing nearly as well as they were expected to be playing right now. What a doozy of a football weekend! Joe Chapp from the Detroit Lions News Podcast joins host Anne Erickson on “The Squad with Anne Erickson” today to talk about NFL trends, which teams are on the rise and, of course, what's to become of the Lions through the end of the season. Also, who's the scariest team in the NFL right now? Joe tells all! We're in the thick of the NFL season, and the Detroit Lions just pulled of a victory over the Saints on the road. It was shaky, but a win is a win. Meanwhile, Green Bay was victorious over the Chiefs. What's the rest of the Lions' schedule look like, and does a team like Green Bay that's blossoming mid-season remain any kind of threat to the Lions in the playoffs? Brad Berreman of SideLion Report joins me, Anne Erickson, on "The Squad" to talk about the state of the NFL, the Detroit Lions and much more. Get on "The Squad" and listen now!
