No clapping?NYTimes: “The Pentagon’s senior military leaders had warned the officers not to react or cheer, per the norms of what is supposed to be a nonpartisan military.”I respectfully think the fears are over-hyped. The Trump Administration is losing steam. They’re afraid to even have the House in session or seat a newly elected Congress member.The American people will never give in to a govt that doesn’t respect their voices.Keep the faith and stay engaged. Middle East news:Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, supports Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza. The deal includes releasing all Israeli hostages and more than 200 Palestinians serving life sentences in Israel, as well as the demilitarization of Gaza. Potential holdouts for the plan include Hamas and far-right religious nationalists in Netanyahu’s government.New York Times Editorial: This Terrible War Must EndThe war in Gaza, now approaching its second anniversary, needs to end.It needs to end for the people of Gaza, more than 60,000 of whom — roughly 3 percent of the population — have been killed. The victims include entire families and thousands of children. Neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble. Most Gazans have been displaced from their homes. Starvation and illness haunt the strip.The war needs to end for the nearly 50 Israeli hostages whom Hamas is still holding in Gaza. Those who remain alive are being held in brutal conditions, often underground, without adequate food. They have been held captive for more than 700 days, since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack that killed about 1,200 Israelis and others.The war needs to end for the sake of Israel and its security. The horrors that it has inflicted in Gaza have contributed to a sharp decline of support for Israel in the United States and elsewhere. Any additional military gains against Hamas pale in comparison with the long-term strategic threats from global isolation.Ukraine/Russia news:Let’s end with some notes on faithAs you know, if you want true peace, I believe you should look to God and the Bible for that — not a country, not a party, and certainly not an earthly leader, such as our President or the leader of whatever political party you prefer.I believe that not only can God give you ever-lasting life, but that He can also give you peace in this life. God is like a good shepherd. He leads you by the still waters. He restores your soul. He guides you out of the death and destruction of sin. If you know nothing about the Bible, but want to test the waters and maybe try it out, check out my resource page here.By the way, if you’re dealing with depression, PTSD, or thoughts of suicide, I have a link I’d like you to check out. Elliott Morris noted that as measured by internet searches for “Cancel Disney+,” the boycott against Disney, the parent company of ABC, is now four times as large as any similar search of a boycott over the past five years. Since ABC suspended comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s show—allegedly for his comments about MAGA Republicans’ search for someone to blame, although he frequently skewers Trump and the administration—Disney’s stock has dropped 2% although the market in general is up nearly 1%.Morris observes that “a lot of powerful people just don’t realize how unpopular Trump is.” He explains that while polls show Trump is deeply unpopular, many people confuse voters with consumers. That is, while polls frequently measure how voters feel about the president, only about 64.1% of American adults eligible to vote went to the polls in 2024. And to me, this reads like he finally found his escape clause, eight months later. Instead, the US is “going to wage war on narco-terrorist organizations.”“The United States has long, for many, many years, established intelligence that allow us to interdict and stop drug boats. We did that. And it doesn’t work,” Rubio said at a press conference in Mexico City.“What will stop them is when you blow them up, when you get rid of them,” he said, arguing that interdiction doesn’t work because drug cartels plan to lose 2% of their cargo.The top US diplomat said the US had intelligence that the vessel coming from Venezuela, with alleged ties to the criminal organization Tren de Aragua, “was headed towards, eventually, the United States.”“Instead of interdicting it, on the president’s orders, we blew it up. And it’ll happen again. The Secretary General and the Dutch government confirmed that the Netherlands is funding the first package in full.“I commend The Netherlands for taking the lead and turning this initiative into concrete support on the ground, building on the steps taken last week by Germany to deliver more Patriot systems to Ukraine,” said the Secretary General.“This is about getting Ukraine the equipment it urgently needs now to defend itself against Russian aggression. The aim of all Allied assistance to Ukraine is to bring the war to a just and lasting end, in support of President Trump’s peace efforts. I have written to all NATO Allies, urging them to contribute towards this burden sharing initiative, and I expect further significant announcements from other Allies soon,” he added.Today’s announcement follows the agreement made by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on 14 July 2025. This new initiative is funded by European Allies and Canada, and will consist of regular packages, each worth roughly $500 million, containing equipment and munitions identified by Ukraine as operational priorities. These include capabilities that the United States can provide in greater volumes than Europe and Canada alone. FRIEDMAN writes of the situation:How did we get here, where a Jewish democratic state, descended in part from the Holocaust, is engaged in a policy of starvation in a war with Hamas that has become the longest and most deadly war between Israelis and Palestinians in Israel’s history — and shows no sign of ending?My answer: What makes this war different is that it pits what I believe is the worst, most fanatical and amoral government in Israel’s history against the worst, most fanatical, murderous organization in Palestinian history.But they are alike not just in the awfulness of their goals — each seeking to wipe out the other to control all the territory from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. They are also guided by leaders who have consistently prioritized their own political survival and ideological obsessions over the basic well-being of their own people — not to mention the interests of the United States.You may have noticed that this war has no generally accepted name — like the Six-Day War, the Sinai War or the October War. Well, I personally have always had a name for it. It’s the War of the Worst.This is the first Israeli-Palestinian war where the worst leaders on both sides are calling all the shots. The moderate Israeli opposition parties and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank have no influence. And that is why I cannot tell you how or when it will end. Because Netanyahu still insists on “total victory” over Hamas, which he will never achieve, and the Hamas leadership still insists on surviving this war in order to still control Gaza the morning after, which it does not deserve.Ukraine news:Something that gives me hope in regards to our militaryPart of his full message:Now if you’ve read this far, I’m sure you or a loved one was forced out of the military based on the vaccine. I took interest in this initiative because I understand what it’s like to be treated unfairly by the military. I was imprisoned in solitary confinement as a “serious threat” and “flight risk” both which were blatantly untrue… and I would argue illegal. When I got out of the brig, my medical records and investigation were released to a reporter still working in the Pentagon, and ironically, who is still reporting on me.Why do I point this out… because my impression is that many who exited the service because of poor treatment over the shot refusal want retribution. I get tagged every day with posts questioning when commanders at every level of the military will be thrown in jail for “illegally enforcing the COVID vaccine.” That’s not going to happen. Time to move forward.3. For the leaders at every level - restore the trust. Take some time to reach out to that service member you served with and may have been cut short. Extend the olive branch.4. Everyone - find some room to forgive…we got bigger threats out there. Now Russia is saturating Ukraine’s air defences with hundreds of them. On May 25th the Kremlin pummelled the country, with what it called a “massive strike” against Ukrainian cities, featuring 355 drones, probably a record. Russia is using more missiles, too: 69 were fired on the same night. As a result, Ukraine is once again stepping into the unknown. If the current ceasefire talks fail, which seems highly probable, air-defence units will need to ration their interceptors. More Russian missiles and drones will get through, to strike towns, cities and critical industry.U.N. Condemns Israel’s New Aid Program in Gaza, After Chaotic StartA chaotic start to a heavily criticized food distribution system. Mounting anger from Europe over its threats to dramatically escalate a ground assault in Gaza. And growing pressure from the United States to reach a truce.Israel is weathering one of its toughest weeks on the diplomatic stage since the start of the war in Gaza, as its allies, including President Trump, appear increasingly fed up with the protracted war, as well as Israel’s conduct of it.On Wednesday, the United Nations denounced the new Israeli-backed aid operation in southern Gaza, a day after the chaotic launch of the initiative, when thousands of hungry Palestinians rushed a food distribution site, prompting Israeli forces to fire warning shots.Israel had barred humanitarian aid from entering Gaza for more than two months, causing widespread hunger, before allowing shipments of food, fuel and other goods to begin flowing in last week. But desperately needed relief — either from the old U.N.-run system or the new Israeli-designed one — has yet to reach many Gazans.Triple trouble for Israel as its furious allies bailYOU MIGHT think it would be impossible for the inferno in Israel and Gaza to burn hotter. Yet Binyamin Netanyahu is fuelling three parallel emergencies; a humanitarian one in Gaza, a torching of support among European allies and a constitutional crisis over who controls the security services, army and courts. The pressure on Israel and its institutions is almost unbearable and a culminating moment is probably imminent.
