Description

The Steadfast Podcast exists to use Bible study and theological teaching to encourage you to be steadfast in your faith. Every Monday morning I'll drop a new Bible study as we work our way through books of the Bible. Additionally, once a month I'll post a bonus episode that unpacks a theological topic to help us understand why we believe what we believe. I hope you'll join us as we seek to, as 1 Corinthians 15:58 tells us, "...be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."

Today's episode starts with a unique event that likely raised a few eyebrows. But remember, we serve a sovereign God who sovereignly placed this event at this particular place in our Bibles. So the question is: why? What are we supposed to be learning through this? Today's Passage: Mark 8:22-38
Everyone has heard of the feeding of 5,000, but the feeding of 4,000 was miraculous in it's own right. Through this event the disciples were supposed to learn some amazing things about Jesus, but it might not have clicked. This series of events gives us a good reminder to always remember: Jesus is in the boat. Today's passage: Mark 8:1-21

Today's Passage: Luke 24:36-53
Christ has risen, He is risen indeed. The problem, at least in this point of the story, is that not everyone believes this miraculous report. In today's passage we will see two men who are struggling to believe, and a unique encounter that will change everything. Today's Passage: Luke 24:13-35
In today's episode we talk about one of the most significant events in human history, the resurrection of Christ. There's so many things that could be said of this event... today we are going to take an apologetic approach. Christian apologetics simply means to give a defense for why we believe what we believe. Christian apologetics could involve using history, philosophy or science in order to make a logical argument defending the faith. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWSG5okmUr8 W....
This week's passage introduces a new figure in the story of Jesus, Joseph of Arimathea. He's an intriguing figure, from whom we've much to learn. But he is not the only intriguing figure of this event. To help us see the whole story of Jesus' burial, we will have to look to the Gospel of John. Today's Text: Luke 23:50-56 Additional Text: John 19:39-40
It has all been leading to this, the Cross of Christ. It is as the core of Christianity. It is a treasure trove of meaning for it has changed everything. In Luke 23 we will draw out 5 truths of the Cross of Christ. Today's Passage: Luke 23:13-49

In today's episode Jesus takes on two challengers: one from the left, and one from the right. Both groups want to challenge Jesus' authority, because He doesn't fit their mold. He's not conforming to their image, and they're not wanting to conform into His image. Who's image are you conforming to? Today's Passage: Luke 20:29-40
