Its the first episode! I am joined by Charlie Lin, a phenomenal guitar player and growing composer. He just happens to be my mentor as well so we tackle a lot of concepts in the world of being a student of music. Enjoy!   -Haig
Wow! What an experience this was. I sit down with Xavier Valdez, friend, bass player, and writer. We really dig deep into the core values and experiences along the road of changing your life and dedicating it to music. Truly an inspiring and educational discussion. Enjoy!
Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom! A great and incredible writer and producer who has honestly done it all. Carlos is a true musician down to the core and we dig into the deep and spiritual aspects of musical energy and how necessary it is in all trials. Join us and enjoy!
Where to begin? Curt is a top level drummer that has toured with greats like Tom Petty and Elton John and recorded with even more. I had the pleasure to sit with him and discuss a lot of his perspective on what it takes to be successful in music and the importance of what it takes. He is truly a special person and I encourage all to take in his words. Curt also just released and incredible petal called "The Grease Juicer" by www.westcopedals.com and is tapping into even more parts of the music industry through them. Give it all a listen and enjoy!
Sat down with Logan Quiroz, an ex athlete that has taken the direction of comedy. From doing open mics and every gig available to trying to fit it all in short set times, Logan has really brought incredible insight to how similar music and comedy are in what they require. Any of us in entertainment have had to or still have to "pay our dues" especially in regards to being on stage. Join us as we dig into the comparisons of comedy and music on the stage. Enjoy!   Haig
Yes theres music! The first of many improvised jams to come through out this adventure of building a community. We had way too much fun playing away on our acoustic guitars. Carlos is an amazing guitar player and really is someone we can all enjoy listening to. Him and I really expose the great things that can come from just jamming with other musicians. Enjoy!   Haig
I would say the title of this episode is an understatement, but how else can I begin to describe where we went? My good friend Josh came in and brought so much more to the table (Literally) than his 12 years in the music industry. We dove into how paying attention to yourself and who you really are at the core can lead to the best approach to any creative journey and even the outcome that is meant to be. From awareness to acceptance to understanding what certain creative struggles are. Like I said, I would not know where to begin in telling you how valuable this talk was so listen for yourself!   Haig
Let's just say I didn't have to do much this time around. Cait brought so so much valuable information and perspective to our sit down. From stories of growing up in a world of creativity, to her ruthless and ambitious journey being a songwriter, performer, actor, producer, and so much more. This amazing woman is doing more than most could even consider to make a career for herself. Being able to talk to her was nothing short of educational! Enjoy!   Haig
To be honest, naming this episode was hard enough. The words and stories that Chris Gratton shares are so incredibly valuable and so detailed it was difficult to give it a title. Chris has been working in the industry since he was sixteen when he had a job on his first tour. Today he is the absolute best at what he does. Whether it is being the tour manager, production manager, or just a genuine and kind man that makes it all possible. With out people like Chris Gratton there would be no industry and more importantly no live experience, and nothing tops that. From Korn to Kanye West and so many in between, we dive deep into the reality of what goes on and of course some behind the scenes facts. Join us in this life changing discussion!   Haig
The first whole band episode and it was amazing! This was a real pleasure. Mr Call is a band that not only creates some top level music but also has the most genuine and honest approach to it all. Each member brings what is necessary and asked of them meanwhile adding their own touch of talent to make the incredible sound that is Mr Call. We really dove deep into the band dynamics on every level from writing together to playing the shows and even some promotional steps. This is one of those bands you listen to and just know they are something special. Hear what they have to say because it is the standard of what bands should be like. Enjoy!     Haig
There are some people in our beautiful world that are so full of talent that it becomes inevitable to create beauty. Alek Fin (Adam Finkel) embodies not only what I believe this podcast is striving for in its guests, but also a clear level of work ethic and want behind the drive to succeed in music. From winning some massive contests to having a single chosen by Jay Z, Alek Fin has had an incredible journey and has found his way back to his love for music and his why. I listen to this episode and think about how valuable some of the statements are only hope that we all take a page out of Adam's book. Enjoy!   Haig
Art itself is a topic of infinite depth and expression. The stage and performance is almost an entirely different realm. Bradley Gosnell has really built the bridge to reach both sides. Not only is he an actor, but also a play writer, story teller, director, and a man who leaves ego behind for the things that have the potential to be bigger than ourselves. I enjoyed having Brad on so much between his incredible perspective and the amazing stories of his experiences through out his acting and story telling career. Definitely a big shout out to his youtube comedy sketch group "Safety Patrol" as well. That is some hilarious stuff! Dive into the depths of the story teller with us. Enjoy!     Haig
And another one in the books! The second jam on the show and the first one of me on my own playing guitar. This is definitely a raw and authentic form of expression between the messing up and improvisation of everything played. It is not only important to build the creative community, but also to share the creative product. Listen and enjoy!     Haig
The magic may be an illusion but the work ethic and passion have never been more real. Tony Clark is an incredibly talented and renowned magician who has worked with many greats and been apart of countless productions from on stage to on camera. He has built one of the most impressive careers for any entertainer's standard and brought wisdom and knowledge that can only be learned through a life like his. Tony had a dream, felt the passion, and never hesitated to go after it in every possible way. In his own words, "passion is physical" and I could not agree more!  Enjoy!     Haig
Nerding out hard with a brother of the guitar, Mauricio Guerrero. This is the definition of a working guitar player. He is versatile, understanding, and prepared for any job that comes his way and he does it all with a compassionate and warm heart. Mauricio is a great example of discovering the different routes possible to making a living with what you love. I was so inspired by his passion and craving to play and am a better guitar player just for hearing his words. To my fellow guitarists, enjoy nerding out with us and to everyone, enjoy listening to this great man talk about the work of a musician.     Haig
It is nothing short of profound how different and similar us musicians and dreamers are. The priorities and opinions of importance for each band or act seem to reach the same end goals but can be almost opposites on a daily basis. Being in a band and trying to make it can easily be considered a nine to five job with out the pay. Satellite Citi joins me and really opens up about what sorts of things take precedence in the daily routine. There is no one way to do it but there is no doubt that going all in on anything will get you somewhere. Check out Satellite Citi with their wisdom and then go listen to their music!     Haig
The idea that no matter what we chase there will always be a level of struggle is widely accepted; however, Jimmy Swagg approaches the acceptance of what life throws his way differently than most. "We already have the answers" he said, referring to the process we have to endure to discover them. I do not think I can say that I have heard things in this light and through this perspective and I am a better person and artist for it. Join us and hear first hand one of many approaches to accepting the inevitable struggles.   Haig
No Etiquette, no rules, and completely boundless. The kind of musical approach that takes us through a portal into the artist's world and lets us roam free. No Etiquette has such an inspirational and important understanding for these concepts and their music represents not only their brand, but their message as well. I had so much fun hanging out with these guys and laughing about so many things. It always amazes me how we can relate and enjoy each others company on any level but quickly discover how deep and meaningful all things in life are when the topic of music, creativity, and out personal process come up. Needless to say, No Etiquette is an electronic duo that sets the bar pretty damn high. Join us!     Haig
One hit wonders are something we all talk about but rarely take the time to define what they might actually be. How do you classify one? What makes it so impactful musically and societally? Xavier Valdez and I dove into some examples and the idea of a one hit wonder itself and discovered how much more depth there is to these catchy tunes. Join us!     Haig
Feeling, Flow, Message, Rhyme. Four things that can be chosen from or used all together to create a hip hop or rap track that is real. Motzaik and I tackle the world of rap from skill, production, to genre. I have been opened up to some new ways of thinking and accepting music because of the amazing things that were shared on this episode. I hope you all feel something similar!   Haig
